While at first i hated Bioshock infinite for everyone's ignorant opinions about how this was peak gaming, and how the gameplay is a total letdown in comparison to Bioshock 2, which is one of my favorite games of all time, specially in terms of gameplay, i quickly learned that faggots, niggers, and every other degenerate in the world that once loved this game because it's "anti white and christian" now hates it because you kill a black woman and it's message of how both sides in war are hypocrites.... no seriously, search up Bioshock Infinite on twitter and see the shitshow for yourself.

See, they couldn't even let the black bitch (which let's face it, didn't even need to be there. The entire bit about the vox populi that takes up the entire middle section of the game could've been totally extricated without any impact to the story, but it needs to be there to bulk) actually be evil.

You'd think the message of "it doesn't matter who it is or what their intentions are, it's easy for them to become blinded by zeal and come to believe the ends justify the means" would be a softball universal message, but in the Burial At Sea pt2 DLC they actually walk that shit back.

They insert a scene while Elizabeth (the player character here) is sneaking around you overhear the quirky lutece twins talking to the irritating black woman like "Oh hey, you just have to PRETEND like you're going to murder this little kid and then die for the greater good" turning it into a heroic sacrifice because upstart black chick cannot be bad.

Even that's really only touching on how bad the DLC was and how badly it undermines the characterization of every one of the major characters from the main game.

I liked the main game though, maybe that's not the hip cynical gamer take but most people who talk about videogames online have something wrong with them anyways so fuck them.

Burial at Sea DLC was one of the worst things that happened to gaming in general. It's no surprise that 10 years later Bioshock 4 (probably) hasn't even entered in development yet.

BioShock Infinite is a game made by overly self-important retards for overly self-important retards. "games" "journalists" and other assorted fags on twitter are going to have stupid opinions about it for the rest of time because that's the intended audience. I personally dislike the game because it is bad.

Bioshock Infinite is like an episode of South Park. Everything about the absurd setting and the comedic timing of the leadup to throwing an egg at the interracial couple is exactly like it. In my memory, I always imagine Eric Cartman throwing the egg while the other boys look on in horror.

You're not alone in that sentiment. Many fans of Infinite prefer to assume Burial at Sea didn't happen or was just an alternate timeline.

I like how in the later part of the game it started taking multiple mags to kill an enemy until it got to the point where I just had to bait until elizabeth threw me some more ammo

Another fellow Bioshock 2 enjoyer.
2 was the most fun because who wouldnt want to play one of those big tanky fuckers

Yes, I'm one of those people who actually likes Bioshock Infinite while concluding that Burial at Sea is dogshit that's better off being completely ignored from the story since it's a such a big narrative disservice to both Bioshock Infinite as well as the original Bioshock.

I've also been long aware of the turn in reception mentioned by OP, particularly among game journalists and their woke social circles, in which positive or middling feelings towards the Bioshock Infinite transformed into complete and total contempt because the revolutionary Vox Populi were depicted in the game to be a bunch of destructive and murderous thugs when given the opportunity. With Bioshock Infinite originally released in 2013, I think it took about a couple of years for this turn to happen, coinciding with the rising popularity of revolutionary socialism among online progressives along with their emboldening in opposition to Gamergate starting in 2014. It's easy to see that the message of the Bioshock series overall is that extremism is bad no matter where it comes from, but to these people who can be seen fawning over images of guillotines, the extremism from the Left is the most just cause there can ever be, and those who deny it are dirty centrists who might as well be worse than Nazis for their complacency and daring to resist the revolution.

Funny enough, well after Burial at Sea came out, I recall there being an interview by Rolling Stone or some such with head developer Ken Levine in which he briefly talked about the Vox Populi leader Daisy Fitzroy as the villain the base game depicts her to be, completely ignoring her retcon in the DLC that was obviously shoved in to appease those who were mad about the mere notion of a black revolutionary being a villain. Recall that this retcon was relayed purely through overheard spoken dialogue as you're crawling through vents.

Bioshock Infinite had potential to be a great game, and I loved what they were going for. Sadly, the actual execution sucks ass and that's likely due to the many, many changes made during development. What we got is a shell of what was promised.
I don't think Bioshock needed another sequel, or a prequel, or a reboot or whatever the hell this was. It should have been it's own new franchise, much like the upcoming Judas, I think it would have been judged way less harshly then.

I'm glad I am not the only Bioshock 2 enjoyer here. I never actually finished that game's story since it just bored me, but I did pump a lot of time into the strangely decent multiplayer. Wish that shooters other than the big three(Battlefield/COD/Halo) had a community that lasted maybe a year or two at most back then.

lmao, a retcon so shitty that even the creator of the game couldn't be bothered to care about it.

American Krogan still has one of the best breakdowns of the game. Autistic overload:
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
Epilogue

Also, Matthewmatosis.

makes you wonder if you're racist
Doesn't really matter because the game's message is you can't hide from your racism no matter what universe you're from. Not being racist won't save you. Being anti-racist won't save you. Killing yourself (in another universe) won't save you. Only thing that "saves" you is erasing your existence via your daughter (who also kills herself since killing you means her existence becomes a paradox).
