Think about it for a moment, that Chris’ private email correspondence over a ticket he’d lawfully purchased, is leaked by the people who 86’d him. Why? Notoriety? Preemptive strike? It’s not professional.
I’m not sympathetic to Chris chans plight, (I tend to fall on the side of the spectrum that considers what he did to Barb as heinous rapey abuse. For that crime, he’s done his time.) His time in the court of public opinion is not done, though. He was kicked out of a con before even attending for no reason other than who he is. Then, they leaked the private correspondence.
I know weens & other people make a big manufactured deal about Chris, but kicking him out for others reactions preemptively is lame. I don’t know the legalities, about refusal of service for being notorious online, or sharing emails with no disclosure first, but it all strikes me as for nothing except whatever motivation the ones who made these decisions had. Imo, it reeks of just another clout chaser wanting asspats. How do you violate a code of conduct if you aren’t there? Does he have a history with this specific con? Sounds just like TOS bullshit excuses that any site uses to maintain control. Yes, companies need to protect themselves, but this is excessive and the BABScon people responsible appear to be capitalizing on it by sharing their TOS-tier banning of him. I’m not sure why, but this comes across as overcompensating and hypocritical.
