Great nutrition for a diabetic kid. I may be wrong, but I would think water or milk is all Aidean should be drinking.

Kids, diabetic or mot, don't need milk, provided their diet supplies adequate protein, fat, and micronutrients otherwise. Water is the only thing anyone should be drinking. If water feels too boring, there are naturally flavored fruit waters that contain no sugar, sugar alcohols, or artificial sweetener. There are even juice box style ones for kids. The Capri Sun brand are cheap and basically always on sale at Walmart or the local supermarket chain. If your kid is mainlining juice, it might require slow acclimation, but once you're accustomed to them, they taste really good. You can even buy them with SNAP/EBT.

Kim has no excuse. She just doesn't give a shit.

It could even be diet and fine for diabetics. But of course its regular soda that kim got. Probably have cake too.

On a special occasion, diet soda is fine, but it's not ideal to let Aidean develop a taste for it.

There's some evidence suggesting that children who regularly drink artificially sweetened low-calorie beverages actually consume more sugar and calories overall than children who drink only water.

The acidity of soda is also not good for teeth, and we all know that nobody is helping Aidean brush and floss every day. If I recall correctly, he has caps on his molars, which helps, but no preventative measure is completely effective. Kim and Dalton almost definitely assume that it's no big deal for teeth to rot every now and then, especially when they're "just" baby teeth. Aidean has like every conceivable risk factor for baby bottle tooth decay, which can seriously fuck up adult dentition.

it’s not so much the “walmart baby shower” that gets hate. there are many lovely people that are frugal with their showers and even if it’s simple, it’s a nice celebration.

kim and dalton are not those people. don’t let that hi-vis vest fool you, no one in that house is employed. they emotionally and medically neglect the child that is already in the house and live in poverty. they don’t have the means to provide for another child.

I'll judge them for it. They do the least for the kids. They spend money on shitty Walmart engagement rings twice a year, Kim's always in new clothing or shitty stitch outfit while aidens dirty old clothes barely fit right half the time. They blow money on vapes and cigarettes, but cant even do a decent party birthday or holiday for their son. Life is expensive and many hard working parents are struggling but I feel 0 empathy for these POS only the kid. Kim wont work to help, they are lazy grifters.

Public service announcement. Please, please, PLEASE be very cautious about buying durable baby equipment (cribs, car seats, changing tables and strollers) second hand. They may be recalled, could have been damaged or who knows what. I understand how expensive things are, but this is not the place to try to save money.
If money is in short supply, maybe register for only those items and encourage people to go in as a group to buy them.

Thrift shops are a great place to get baby clothes. They grow out of that stuff so damn fast, no sense in spending a fortune.

Something about this picture looks really weirdly edited to me. It almost looks like Darnell is from a different picture than Sammie and the baby, and all of them are different from the background.

I don't see any signs of gifts in those photos, so I wondering if they ended up receiving anything at all. What I do see is Kim-- who is a type 1 diabetic, let us not forget-- shoveling cake into her mouth. I also spy T1D Aidean with a non-diet Dr. Pepper, as people have already pointed out.

It galls me that they're having a baby shower for a baby who stands a good chance of dying before birth when the existing child doesn't even have a car seat. Aidean is never a priority and never has been. It's heartbreaking.

The baby shower wasn’t even about the baby, or Aidean, it was about Kim trying to get gifts and/or money out of people.
She won’t actually care when whatever is infesting the womb shaped nuclear wasteland of her body inevitably dies, it’s just more fuel for the grift.
