Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Captain Manning is unquotable for me:
Think about it. If they had an unhinged e-mail from the con calling them Nazis and and they should all die in a fire, they would have released it in a New York minute.
This is true. Perhaps the email cites their politics, and it also cites something less salacious and more mundane like forgetting to check the "+2" box on the "Who is at your booth?" section of the application form?

I have said time and time again now that Ethan's decision to get into bed with Dick and Vito, and declare total nigger death against July, is the DUMBEST thing he has ever done. Far in excess of any other stupid thing he has ever done.

Why?

Because it caused a number of people, like myself, who were previously willing to cut Ethan at least some slack in recognition of his anti-SJW positions (purported, anyways), to see who Ethan truly is as a person, and what CG does and doesn't stand for. It certainly doesn't stand for the lofty principle of promoting creators shunned by the mainstream comics industry. CG stands for Ethan's ego and nothing more. That much is clear to me now. This fight with July is the stupidest and most self-serving thing I have seen in a long while. Then he has the audacity to come back here and want to know why the thread isn't shitting on July 24/7 (fuck off).

It's not just me, either. This thread went from having a mixed opinion on Ethan, to holding an universally negative view of him. That sea change coincided with him going in super hard on July and basically using scum like Mint Salad a Riley as War Campaign 2.0. The Farms, in large part, went from largely being ignorant of Ethan, to knowing him as the dude that works with Dick Masterson and Vito to take down some black comic book creator for the sin of selling more comics than Ethan, and not fawning over Vito's shitty late book.

I reject the notion that my opinion has changed because other people's opinions have changed. I am not a stranger to adopting and holding a minority view on the Farms. I was critical of Nick Rekieta starting back in 2020. Back when that was very much a minority view. A lot of people didn't start to get wise to who he really was till late 2022. I was perhaps later than some, but still ahead of the curve compared to many others. I don't feel the need to say "I told you so" though. I am satisfied that some people just didn't see it yet. It happens. Again, some saw it before me.

What has changed with respect to Ethan, in my view, is that Ethan has turned in a far bigger asshole than he has ever been prior to now. His campaign against July is idiotic, unhinged, and indefensible.

And I don't even really care much about July or his products.

I was making fun of Eric and the books earlier on. It's not like I changed my mind about the books sucking,
I know. I wasn't talking about you. You're fine. I presume your criticism is from the heart.

I am talking about people who supported and complemented July's books until either Ethan or Dick Masterson told them not to. Whereas I'm pretty sure you never liked them.

It's not like the fucking books changed between then and now. The only thing that has changed is the führer's position on July. This is all indicative of cult like behavior, and devoid of these people exhibiting independent thought.

The fact they haven't released the e-mail really makes me think the subletting is the primary issue. Malin himself seems to suggest that was at least part of it. Though, for obvious reasons, he's gonna cast this as a cancelation.

Think about it. If they had an unhinged e-mail from the con calling them Nazis and and they should all die in a fire, they would have released it in a New York minute.

Whereas if they were booted for a contractual violation, it wouldn't cause nearly as much pearl clutching. They would just look like people who can't follow written rules.

That's the annoying part. They can easily show the emails showing why they were told not to come. And the emails showing they got approval for sharing a table. But so far it's not showing emails and going hard on the politics stuff. If it is because of the sublet thing. Sucks, but it is what it is. However, if it is because of harassment they've done in the past. You can easily make a case for all three of them doing that to varying degrees. Particularly with EVS.

To be clear, the con would be within their legal right to ban all three of them for potential or actual on-site harassment. It's a private event.

Rather serrdipitously, one of the featured items of the main page is Chris-Chan being permanently banned from a Brony con. Cons have always enjoyed that right. This is hardly some new concept.

FROG seems to think convention attendance is some sort of right, and not a conditional privilege. I remember arguing with him last year concerning Jessie Milestone being thrown out of some FNT event. He was bitching about her being "gatekept." I thought his position was ridiculous, and still do. I think his position was largely driven by his hatred of people like AZ.

In any event, all of this is assuming the were banned for conduct or potential conduct. Like Fleetwood, I want to see receipts.

Also, is that Wiggle pointing out the absurdity of the EJ haters in CG? Has he seen the light?

He hates EJ because the pie ayatollah has issued a fatwah.
Ayatollah Reethan issues a fatwah.png

I'm just glad that finally everyone can see what me and my esteemed frogalog colleagues see: a backstabbing bus-under-throwing gayfabe gayoppenheimer who unironically ironically allows his low effort/IQ white trash degenerate social media presence to kill off anything of remaining value in his fading career.

Even before my ears perked up after the Cap Cummings fiasco and I started to change my mind about him, I knew he was throwing away his talent on such a trash character. But as it turns out "write what you know" applies perfectly to his situation because the only thing that passes for character development is to be totally 90s edgy awesome brah! There's an age limit to that crap especially when you can't take what you dish out.

It doesn't seem like anybody in the entire crowdfunded griftosphere is anywhere close to coming up with a character that has a chance at really catching on. I was just recently looking to grab the original Rocketeer books and I'm looking at that art and saying to myself "Sciverfrog is stick figures and baby board books compared to this... and it has been a dead end property with modest success for years now. Even if it didn't conquer the comic industry, Dave Stevens still put in the work because he wanted to make a great comic book. The Bettie Page fetish is a little jarring at times, but Heather Swain will never look as good. I could tell the Breitweisers were looking to tap into that retro 30s 40s superhero thing with Red Rooster too.

July ain't hitting the mark either, but at least he can boast of the best fullfillment in the sektor. Ethan is rightly now getting absolutely froggered in traffic for the unfavorable comparison. If he knew how to shut his snout for a minute, he might have found the exit sign, but his ego ensures career roadkill. It's about time.

I agree. But my issue is them possibly trying to use a policy violation that was their screw up as being barred for political reasons.

And yeah. Looks like it may be the case with Wiggle.

Vic Tartamello, Stephen Walton, Mathew Fowler, Ro Kabir Kamar, Vikkiverse, Smug Pug, Doug Tennapel, Camel Moon, Mike S Miller, just to name a fraction of a huge list.
Funny you should mention Doug TenNapel, last I checked on him he'd declared a fatwah on Phil Vischer (co-creator of VeggieTales) due to Phil refusing to bend the knee to Trump and him rightfully calling out Doug on his utter insanity with a lot more class than he deserves.

EVS' one-sided beef with Eric July is a classic case of envy incarnate. You could say that July's books are boring at best and terrible at worst, but give the guy some credit: July puts forth the effort, manpower, and resources to get his books out on time and is seeing a respectable degree of success outside of the mainstream.

I'd argue that EVS' issues run deeper than being envious over the amount of money that July is getting and more he's pissed off he can't sit on his ass doing nothing except shoveling pies into his fat face, getting into fights with people on streams, and being gassed up by his sycophants anymore: backers see this other project continually get fulfilled and now they're asking questions on where things are and are finally demanding accountability of EVS and turning on him after getting no solid answers or product, which is something his toddler brain can't handle. His idyllic existence is threatened and I couldn't be happier for him.

Wonder if he secretly wishes he never burnt so many bridges in the comic book industry these days, especially with his former buddy, Geoff Johns: I can almost guarantee that Geoff never called his long-time collaborator when he started up Ghost Machine to get EVS on the ground level and that also probably pisses him off as well.

After over a year of being a nigger faggot and not resetting my forgotten password, i decided to rehab from being a nigger faggot and reset my password, and I'm back. So I'm no longer a nigger faggot. I'm just plain retarded.

With all the talk of what's been happening in the landscape, I figured i give some of my worthless 2 cents on some of it. Some i won't or can't comment, and I would hope many would understand my position on why.

What I will say is there is definitely a consensus in the back rooms that CG is headed in the wrong direction. For myself, personally, I made it a choice to redirect my live streams and focus a bit more on, you know, actual comic content. In my case going back and spotlighting indie comic artists who wouldn't even be on CG's sphere because "muh art" (Vaughn Bode, One, Katustomo Ichitomo being examples.) It doesn't get 50 to 100 live views, but i can tell you it has gotten a lot of postive feedback due to having replay value. I remembered something Edwin Boyette mentoned about these live streams having replay value (or lack of.) He mentioned them lacking profundity, beauty, etc. In other words they aren't content you'd watch over and over. I found myself falling into that trap. I'm slowly redirecting and offering something of more substance than retarded IBS. It isn't much since I'm a "slum loser," but i can tell you personally it has made me love streaming again.

It's also why i haven't publicly thrown my hat in the Eric July/ EVS idiocy. I have my opinions on the matter - Isom 1 and 2 sucked. My opinions on those never changed. However, I also opined that the trademark lolsuit was ridiculous. My own experiences with trademark proved that the ISOM acronym and the Isom name are not the same, and the words of both parties indicating no financial exchange happened nor any changes to the Isom name on July's end also prove the lolsuit was frivolous. I can have an opinion on July's first 2 comics being not of my liking, and still backi Yaira because I think Yaira visually looks the best of all the Rippaverse stuff. I just hope the writing is good. If the book does suck, it was a risk i chose to take. I can also find some of the Rippoffverse puppet videos genuinely funny (thanks to AI voice patterns.) Not everthing Eric July does is bad, and not everything CG does is good. It's the beauty of having an independent thought. But it's also why I, again, don't throw my hat into the arena. It becomes a full time job with mandatory overtime, and absolutely no salary or benefits to go along with it.

Without saying any more, I totally understand the sentiment many of the kiwis here have taken in the last few months. I haven't posted here in over a year, but I've been lurking, and reading - and learning.

@Alazmat havn't read your post yet so it better not suck, but welcome back to the farms.

Don't have a yt account, so I can say this now, Sorry for your recent loss, and glad your still making your comics. Being a shit posting site i have been critical of your books, but truth being said never read them. Your entertaining and a good man.

But don't ever try and tell me to goto a regal or AMC theatre to watch a POS movie about Godzilla for 65 dollars when I can watch the authentic Godzilla (Minus one) at a local theater.

Also sorry about Road warrior being violated. Tragedy makes stronger characters in the future i would like to get your books.

Not to make it a tool of any misplaced sense of virtue, but widowhood really does change your perception on internet slap fights. If anything, it really does make you see how childish arguing online over comics is. It's allowed me to really self reflect.

If i tell you to go to your local Regal to see Godzilla x Kong just to get those cups, then consider it an act of love. But seriously, Minus One was a beautiful movie. Also, if you have been catching my live stream appearances, do know much of what I do on there (i'd say 80 percent) is all kayfabe. People have a better time laughing at you WITH you then watching you be mad at first world problems. It's become part of my brand.

Speaking of part of my brand, the running joke in the back is that fan art of my character is better than my own art. Who am I to argue? But I can tell you my art now is MUCH better than it was 3 years ago. I took the lessons of the critiques from the last couple of years to help evolve my style. It still won't be to a lot of people's liking, but if Edwin Boyette himself, who was one of my first critics, can say my art has gotten sharper, then the evolution is real.

By the way, go to your local Regal and go see Godzilla x Kong. Those cups are definitely worth the experience.

@Alazmat that's a name I haven't seen in awhile! Happy to see you back, but very sad to hear about your wife. Taking a perusal over your channel, looks pretty interesting so far! A tangential note on Lynd Ward: he was mentioned in the book "People of the Lie" by Dr. Scott Peck for his work "God's Man" possibly providing a window into a supposed demonic possession for a female patient of his.

Ro and the Warcampaign trash only flipped because they were no longer at the top of the CG cult's pyramid.
Yeah, I was about to say... there's a few people on that list that deserved to be criticized for one reason or another, and that hasn't changed any. Even if Ethan were now Hitler incarnate.

For example, if anybody here expects me to say "Ro Kabir was right," you'll be waiting till hell freezes over. Sorry. I am pretty sure I'm not alone in that position either.

@Alazmat My sympathies as to you loss.

He probably thinks that because for years, if not decades, he was considered a legitimate hot talent within the comics industry and got invited to a ton of shows over the years and once he went completely batshit off the rails not long after Trump got elected and then his borderline sociopathic hatred towards Kelly Marie Tran/Rose Tico from 'The Last Jedi', he practically got himself shadowbanned from a lot of the major comic cons and then CG was the final nail in that coffin. I can't think of a single comic convention he's been a guest at in the last few years.

Cons do indeed have a right to forbade guests from visiting if they pose a threat to public safety or the safety of the guests. Chris-Chan has a well-documented history (to put it very mildly) of causing scenes and commotion at shows, so BABSCon was in the right to forbade him entry. Likewise with this recent comic con flap, C2E2 was within their rights to ban these particular people since some of them would have no qualms taking things IRL and posing threats (however minor or major) to the safety of others at the show. It's a judgement call and I do not envy the personnel who have to make that decision.

tl;dr: EVS is just sour graping at this point because he's no longer asked to be a guest at conventions anymore.

Interesting. Ward's personal life preferences were degenerate enough for people in CG to cancel him. But i had a conversation with another artist this week about why American creatives on Twitter and YouTube are always knee deep in drama. The short answer is social media has given creators this false idea that we can co-habitate despite our immense egos and commitment to "muh passion projects," and that such co-habitation is not only possible but necessary. I'm not saying artists can't have healthy platonic relationships with one another nor build a network, but the need to want to do so didn't come with an instruction manual on HOW to do so. Mangaka like One and Katsutomo Ichitomo thrived on being reclusive. Going back to Bode, he was knee deep in sexual perversion, but that goes under the radar because there was no such thing as DM leaks or doxxing on livestreams, etc. In other words, it wasn't in thrown in your face in every facet of media. This is why it's easier to talk about and enjoy his work. At least he wasn't a pedo.

For example, if anybody here expects me to say "Ro Kabir was right," you'll be waiting till hell freezes over. Sorry. I am pretty sure I'm not alone in that position either.

Ro was also the same guy who doxxed his own wife and kids to the farms and famously gave permission to rape them. Stalin hated Hitler. Doesn't mean Stalin wasn't a piece of shit.

@Alazmat My sympathies as to you loss.

Thank you. That means a lot.

Bode was a tranny, if he was in the industry now he'd be another Mags to them they would call him a groomer and hippies were the original libtards. And Comicsgate doesn't give any real fucks about manga. Manga proves artists out there have work ethic. One Punch Man... should be the blueprint for no talent independents who have an idea and want to make a comic. But no crowdfunding required, no group required, no youtube required. It breaks all the rules designed to make @FROG money for Atlantic city trips.

One had Japanese Twitter as well as the Japanese equivalent of Webtoons to promote One Punch Man before it got picked up by a company, The idea of using an internet platform to promote your brand is still the idea, but a webtoons-like platform removes any ability to drama farm. If i had known that was an effective way to build my brand, I definitely would have commited to it early on.

Analytics provided by Yellowflash (with approval to post by him). He states that there is no crossover with EVS anymore with his audience. That since he never talks about him, that his audience basically isn't suggested to EVS anymore.
my god, imagine having an audience consisting of tim pool, asmongold, quarter pounder and ryan kinel fans. I'd tie a rope around my neck and kick a chair. no wonder those retards can listen to that brain dead faggot.

EVS is still a bigger Faggot
