‘X-Men ’97': 1990s Marvel Animated Series Gets 2023 Revival on Disney+

they really won me over with Cyclops' (a habitual cuck in most media depictions, now the badass from the comics he's meant to be)
It's been a while since I saw the original but I'm reasonable certain his entrance in that was beheading in one shot a sentinel that had been fighting with Storm, Jubilee, Gambit and Rogue for the past few minutes.

While he had his moments of weakness Cyclops also occasionally was allowed to shine.

I forgot Cable's mom was Madelyne Pryor and her alias was the Goblin Queen. Did the comic ever explain why Mr. Sinister was so obsessed with Scott and Jean's DNA?
Whatever it is, it got retconned awfully.
One of modern comics had a gayass plot where Sinister uses something to change entire city into copies of himself. All are male, with explicit line of how he "has nothing against women, and nothing for them", but then there is a ballroom with multiple Jeans. Maybe it is implication of him having single-target crush on her and zero other women, or maybe thes are skinwalking trannies.

So funny thing that isn't well known. The VO for rogue in this series, lenore zann, aside from being a sketchy as fuck politician, formerly of the liberals and NDP (gee, theres a surprise) is, or at least was an absolute whore. At least she was when she was younger. As in, had a history of streaking in school and fucking anything that moved, particularly as an easy way to get weed back in the day. How do I know this? a family member of mine happens to have gone to the same school as her growing up and was very well acquainted with her, particularly given the fact he used to sell her said weed frequently and make those kinds of trades on a regular basis and has told more than a few stories i'm sure she would not be happy to have circulating

Doesn't take much to figure out why she was in the parties she was in or how she advanced in them given her history. I will say that he does have a history of referring to her as 'the butt slut' whenever he sees a picture of her

I remember hearing that her early political career was threatened by nudes floating around.

She was also the voice of Roll.Exe in MegaMan NT Warrior (for most of the first series) and there was a two-part episode where she got temporarily corrupted as "Evil Empress Roll".

Last episode I wrote a fairly long dissection of it and the things that were wrong with it. I've just watched episode 4 though and I can't even begin to describe it. Rarely if ever have I seen TV this bad. Truly it has reached levels of terrible I couldn't imagine possible. Everything about it is like parody except somehow it is not.

Truly, this has to be seen to be believed.

Nah, after nearly 8 years of clown world I can just believe it is awful.
I have lived through the same circus years, my friend. I have watched through my fingers the disaster that was 2016 Ghostbusters. I have seen through tearing eyeballs what ruin they wrought upon Tolkien's legacy with The Rings of Power. I have been transfixed like some Lovecraft story protagonist by Rebel Wilson dressed as a CGI cat. And I have to say, this show is some of the worst writing I have seen in my life.

There are cliches so hoary Moses was tired of them. Writing so ponderous it makes James Corden look a ballerina. Do you want to revisit the concept of being sucked into a video game? A romance so forced it's practically rape? Do you want to see character concepts that compare unfavourably to Teen Titans Go subtle masterpieces?

This is like what Skynet would do to hurt us if it was blocked off from the nukes: "I have no emotions but I must write." Truly, this show has put the awe back into awful.

Not as hype as the previous episode, but Mojo pivoting to video games was kinda funny.
He was like some fatter version of Control Freak from the Teen Titans Go cartoon. Only with a dash of Hellraiser. I have no idea who the six-armed tech support woman was but the entire concept of him sucking people into video games in order to drain energy from people watching them was hilarious. Is this a metaphor for Twitch?

The second half of the episode in which Storm meets someone, goes horse riding with him, falls deeply in love, is betrayed and then at pivotal moment said someone is struck down by giant owl that feeds on happiness... Honestly, just blew me away. What did you think?

I could definitely see Mojo doing a hot tub stream. Not that I want that image in my head, mind you, but it's there nonetheless.

I loved that he apparently could create copies of Jubilee at will, with all the same powers, fully sentient and independent lifeforms to the extent that one of them could grow into an older version of Jubilee with improved powers that had grown over her life... and still needed the original Jubilee. And the straight to camera Very Special Episode message about how video games were cool but you had to grow up.

This is what I mean when I say it has to be seen to be believed.

I thought he was deleting all the beta test copies (or they died) and the one who got away only did so due to a glitch? Obviously with his ratings drying up he needed a selling point and the real Jubilee was better than ai copies. The thing that puzzles me is how the console appeared in her room to begin with. I guess Mojo could have just teleported it there, especially since Xavier isn't around to detect that sort of thing.

As for the moral, I took it as Jubilee becoming dependant on nostalgia more than "video games bad". Which, admittedly, is funny for a continuation of a 90's show to prop up as an ideal, but more a case of double standards than hypocrisy.

wasnt she in MvC2?
tbh it's very possible there's several six-armed women in Marvel

edit- yeah I'm assuming that's Spiral

she's apparently a flunky of Mojo who was received with a resounding "who?" when she popped in MvC2

Spiral was a minor significant villain in the 90s and early 00s comics. She was rarely part of a large arc, but she would randomly pop up across the X books whenever something involving teleportation or transport to another time or dimension was required.

Yeah, that's her. He calls her Spiral in the show and the look and helmet design are the same.

This episode was sort of like the Mr. Burns immune system gag in The Simpsons, where every single element should be fatal but it achieves some kind of balance of awful elements meaning I can't look away. The bit everything turned into 8-bit arcade graphics and she saved the dude by finding an Extra Life was just jaw-dropping.
