Diseased Rowling Derangement Syndrome - "TERF/Woke Author Bad!!1"

Yeah, a TIF would not write loving paragraphs about a 15-year-old girl's hips and how she secretly loves drawing attention for men. They'd have a male "barkeep" and have him write in his diary and carefully assess his own feelings for 15 pages instead.

The moron can't even use hyphens properly. It's wine-red hair. You can get away with not hyphenating compound adjectives when you're writing informally, but this guy styles himself as a Serious Author.

Pedo creep confirmed. "Horny teens are fun to write":

He's 37 by the way.

All of her detractors always appears to be thinly veiled pedophiles, huh? Vaush was an outspoken critic of Queen Rowling as well, and we all know what he had on his harddrive.

Start the woodchipper, lads.

I mean, forgive me for playing devil's advocate here - and I remember all the drama about it, when it happened - but I'm not going to jump to assumptions and chimp out because it was 100% definitely and unambiguously entirely for RAYCIS' reasons that this minor background character, essentially a glorified extra, Lavendar Brown, was recast with a more experienced actress who also happened to be white. Like everyone on Tumblr seemed to think, back in the day.

Especially when Pansy Parkinson suddenly became mixed race when she got a speaking part and nobody seemed to care or notice.

I think that guy is actually supposed to be Blaise Zabini, not Crabbe.

Amusingly, there was also a huge uproar about him being confirmed as black by Rowling, back in the day, too, because he was never described physically in the books beyond being 'another Slytherin boy', and all the fangirls used to use him as a stand-in for the skinny emo boyfriend of their dreams in their fanfiction, and didn’t take too kindly to finding out he was a lot more melanated than they'd previously imagined.

Yeah it's supposed to be Zabini, because the actor who played Vincent Crabbe, Jamie Waylett, got arrested for growing pot while filming for the last film was underway and then got into later, more violent shenanigans that merited extra jail time ( Article | Archive ).

I think it's generally a bad idea if you have an extremely autistic fanbase to change race or really anything noticeable about even minor background characters unless you like having your fans chimp out at you and screeching autistically.

There's major restrictions on what you can do with child actors if you don't want your final product to be terrible. Maybe they could have tried harder at the time, but it's not a given that they could have done better.

Tangentially - I do not give a shit what race the actors are. Genuinely. I have sympathy for people who are sick of racebending without purpose in media. But at the end of the day, Rowling saying "Hermione could be black" wasn't this big cringe flipflop moment where she was pretending the character was black the whole time... she was just saying "Hermione's actress being black doesn't break the freaking story, chill out."

Pansy's younger actress being swapped out for a biracial older actress does not bother me. The older actress has the right nose for the role, poor thing.

I don't know. Changing the race of a character because "O NOEZ WE CAN'T HAVE A RACE-MIXERINO" is just as cringe as changing race for wokeshit.

IIRC the “black Hermione” thing only came out of them casting a black actress as Hermione in the Cursed Child stage play. This was 2016 and peak Hamilton mania so lots of play productions were getting in on raceswapped casting (plus that just happens in theatre all the time, there’s more room to suspend the disbelief of “hey that kid doesn’t look anything like their mom” on stage).

When the casting got announced people (mostly the right and the occasional canon purist) were throwing shit fits online about Hermione being black and she just tweeted that she approved of it to make people chill out. She never said she always meant Hermione to be black, just that it was cool for her to be whatever race on stage or in someone’s imagination if they want.

Of course that’s been retconned by the troons since her peaking into her trying to hide her blatant racism or whatever.

True. But it's as likely they changed her for other reasons. It was a multi-year movie series, there's a long list of reasons why the actress might get replaced over that time span and no guarantee that an actress with the right age appearance, talent for the role and ethnicity can be found.

I had it in my head that it was the other way around, so I went looking for articles to confirm — but no you are right. The weirder thing is when I was looking, seeing all these articles from websites, just gushing over JKR calling her queen and so in. These same websites today are the ones calling for her destruction.

JKR sets fire to the World…

Scotland's Hate Crime Act comes into effect today. Women gain no additional protections, of course, but well-known trans activist Beth Douglas, darling of prominent Scottish politicians, falls within a protected category. Phew! 1/11

Lovely Scottish lass and convicted double rapist Isla Bryson found her true authentic female self shortly before she was due to be sentenced. Misgendering is hate, so respect Isla’s pronouns, please. Love the leggings! 2/11

Fragile flower Katie Dolatowski, 6'5", was rightly sent to a women's prison in Scotland after conviction. This ensured she was protected from violent, predatory men (unlike the 10-year-old girl Katie sexually assaulted in a women's public bathroom.) 3/11

Samantha Norris was cleared of exposing her penis to two 11-year-old girls. Hooray! Unfortunately she was then convicted for possession of 16,000 images of children being raped and sexually assaulted. Be that as it may, Sam’s still a lady to me! 4/11

Scottish woman and butcher Amy George abducted an 11-year-old girl while dressed in female clothing. No idea why this was mentioned in court – of course she was wearing women’s clothing, she's a woman! Amy took the girl home and sexually abused her over a 27-hour period. 5/11

But most women aren’t axe-toters or sex offenders, so let’s talk role models! Guilia Valentino (in red) wanted to play on the women's team 'because of sisterhood, validation and political visibility'. Naturally, she was given some boring cis girl’s place. Yay for inclusion! 6/11

Mridul Wadhwa, head of a Scottish rape crisis centre, says, ‘sexual violence happens to bigoted people as well.’ She has no gender recognition certificate, but was still appointed to a job advertised for women only. Time to be ‘challenged on your prejudices’, rape victims! 7/11

Munroe Bergdorf isn’t just a pretty face! Public campaigner for a children’s charity until safeguarding concerns were raised, she was appointed UN Women’s first ever UK champion. ‘What makes a woman “a woman” has no definitive answer,’ says Munroe. Great choice, UN Women! 8/11

Katie Neeves has been appointed as the UN Women UK delegate. She switched from straight man to lesbian at the age of 48 and, in a leaked 2022 webinar, described how she used to enjoy stealing and wearing her sister’s underwear. A truly relatable representative! 9/11

Last, but least, TV’s India Willoughby proves we women can call a black broadcaster a ‘nasty bitch’ who ‘wouldn’t be anywhere without woke’, dub lesbians men, insult the looks of a female Olympic swimmer, ‘joke’ about kidnapping feminists, and STILL get airtime! What a gal! 10/11

April Fools! Only kidding. Obviously, the people mentioned in the above tweets aren't women at all, but men, every last one of them. In passing the Scottish Hate Crime Act, Scottish lawmakers seem to have placed higher value on the feelings of men performing their idea of femaleness, however misogynistically or opportunistically, than on the rights and freedoms of actual women and girls. The new legislation is wide open to abuse by activists who wish to silence those of us speaking out about the dangers of eliminating women's and girls’ single-sex spaces, the nonsense made of crime data if violent and sexual assaults committed by men are recorded as female crimes, the grotesque unfairness of allowing males to compete in female sports, the injustice of women’s jobs, honours and opportunities being taken by trans-identified men, and the reality and immutability of biological sex. For several years now, Scottish women have been pressured by their government and members of the police force to deny the evidence of their eyes and ears, repudiate biological facts and embrace a neo-religious concept of gender that is unprovable and untestable. The re-definition of 'woman' to include every man who declares himself one has already had serious consequences for women's and girls’ rights and safety in Scotland, with the strongest impact felt, as ever, by the most vulnerable, including female prisoners and rape survivors. It is impossible to accurately describe or tackle the reality of violence and sexual violence committed against women and girls, or address the current assault on women’s and girls’ rights, unless we are allowed to call a man a man. Freedom of speech and belief are at an end in Scotland if the accurate description of biological sex is deemed criminal. I'm currently out of the country, but if what I've written here qualifies as an offence under the terms of the new act, I look forward to being arrested when I return to the birthplace of the Scottish Enlightenment. If you agree with the views set out in this tweet, please retweet it. #ArrestMe #AprilFools #HateCrimeActScotland

I kinda wish she’d left india windyboy off the list cos hes gonna crow thay mommy mentioned him, where I think he is so irrelevant she wouldn’t notice if she farted him to obscurity… but maybe she’s gonna lawyer his arse til never…

I hope they arrest her. I want to see them do it. Arresting a beloved author for calling men, men. The headlines will peak the entire UK. This will not go the way the troons want.

Unironically, if they did that, they would immortalise her.

I'll sound like I'm simping for her here, but seriously, when all this gender shit blows over - and it WILL blow over, I am increasingly convinced the pendulum is already swinging back to normality - if they arrest her, J.K. Rowling would go down in history, not just as a best selling children's author, but as a feminist hero who stood up for women's rights in the face of pressure from a tyrannical government trying to gaslight its citizens into thinking that 2 + 2 = fish.

She has unironically been one of the few female public figures to consistently act like an actual fucking feminist throughout this whole thing. Give it a few decades and they'll be putting her on banknotes and building statues of her and pretending they were 100% on side with her and what she believed the whole time.

You're right on that front, but knowing how vindictive troons and their ballwashers are, JKR would probably get put in a holding cell with some violent rapist or something similar. The best outcome would be something that doesn't involve her getting fully arrested, but still produces a big problem regardless.
