May 7, 2024, I think that confirms the movie theory.

Sundance Film Fest, for Hobo With a Shotgun. They gave out a fleshlight to everyone in the audience who attended the movie.
Edit: no it was a movie event called buttnomithon? I literally can’t find anything about it.
Whoever they got to voice Caboose could sure do with a few hundred more passes because as it stands right now he sounds nothing like Joel.

By own it on digital do they mean to charge you in order to see it, regardless of whether or not you're a RT first member? :story:

Gotta get your one last bag, though who knows who it's even going to in a dead company.

A better solution is to just torrent it instead of wasting money on it

I wouldn't be surprised if that was intentional. "Look, we were good and fired the icky Joel so hard, the new guy doesn't even sound like him so you won't be tricked into thinking we rehired him and cancel us."

Just remembered a Roosterteeth thread from 2020 that is funny in hindsight. Where did bending the knee like this get them? Oh, right, eventual death.

I've got a few of these on my channel, mostly the Ryan ones, but yeah they really should have just left everything up. The actual audience doesn't give a shit if you weren't woke years ago. Trying to appeal to a bunch of degenerates who never watched your content in the first place didn't work for Star Wars, and it certainly wasn't going to work for you.

They couldn't choose a more ironic name if they tried. If they had any hope of the IP continuing the smart move would have been to sit on it and release it if or when WB decided to let them continue under a different org. As it stands they should call it RvB Epitaph.

If you listen to Morning Somewhere, you do kind of get the impression that even he thought it long overstayed its welcome.
I can’t understand why a bunch of people who became rich and successful off of having fun would want to become corporate. Like imagine making millions off of playing video games and dicking around with your friends and saying “you know what would make this better? Doing paperwork and going to executive meetings.”

They fell into the same trap as Freddie Wong. They thought TV and the silver screen were the way forward. Which while true in the early 00’s it isn't anymore. They were ambitious and thought it was the move forward. Now unlike Freddie, they didn't have the right people for the job and here we are.

it's hard to be 100% sure but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with this:

This is more funny in retrospect, when you remember at one point they were so desperate for that Hollywood connection they were shilling for LeVar to love them. Meanwhile, there is not a single compilation of them quoting Star Trek is there? As much as people shit on Mica (rightfully so) I can’t because she really did start the slow bleed that killed the company.

They used the funhaus office as a sort of satellite office for the LA connection iirc. In retrospect they were always going to sell out if they the founders could pursue their passions. For Burnie it was film making, and for Geoff it was a creative outlet, where he could do what he wanted. Idk about gus, Joel, matt, etc in terms of their initial passions and what their dreams were, but it was the same for Wong, saw the Internet as a way to the big time, not that it could be its own thing, that's even bigger. Honestly a shame. Could have stayed something great if they would have gotten the right people in place. Always reminds me of the "game kids Trevor" line. Wrong person for the job.

I was watching this clip from a couple of years ago and it never really struck me how mid-Atlantic Gavin sounds. He still sounds like Gavin but he sounds "off." I can't put my finger on it. Maybe the vowels?

I know I'm stating the obvious - he's been living in the US for well over ten years - I just never noticed it before. When he says "branch" and "Holy shit!" that's the most American I've ever heard him sound.

Roosterteeth is streaming on their anniversary with no one of importance. It’s Griff, Armando, and the third guy whose name I can’t remember.

You’d think they’d bring in the founders or literally anyone other then the DEI Hires. Griff is currently bitching about a white dude who managed to make more money than Griff will ever see.

I found them, by the way.

Edit: Thank you Griff for acknowledging Joel, that’s probably the nicest thing anyone in the company has done for him in five years.

Armando was asked who was his favorite founder was and stated Joel was number one. lol, lmao even.

More edits: i forgot Armando’s name again lmao
Turns out I also caught the tail end of the stream, Xtra is continuing with Jack’s help I guess, and I hope to God someone archived the stream cause I sure as fuck want to watch this train wreck.
