Sweet Baby Inc. and the Steam Curator Group Conspiracy - The company that is responsible for the diarrheic video game writing.

he kept telling people in the beginning to "not complain" because "if we start to complain we may have another video game crisis like the one in the 80s".
And I recalled a post by a farmer here about a redwood and how a controlled fire managed to help younglings sprout.
There isn't going to be a crash like there was in the 80s - making video games is far too accessible for anyone to realistically stop.

The only games in "real" danger are huge AAA titles done by committee and loaded with revenue streams which most people would be OK if they died. It's an approach that's clearly not working for anyone and we can probably live without another "Redfall" or "Saint's Row - Reboot" and the only people who care are executives who still dream of making Candy Crush/Fortnite levels of money.

Unless I'm wrong, it appears that Diallo K. Morris is not a defamation lawyer, I wonder why they picked him?

Which is hilarious, because the video game crash of the 80s might have been the best thing to happen to the industry at that time.
These people are too dumb to figure this out. Remember that there's idiots that still defend Chucklefuck and Starbound.

I agree, I don't understand why people would tell others who have all the rights to complain, to instead shut up (or to "be constructive", which really means the same).
If I have to make a retarded example, it's a bit like when during the slavery, with blacks managing other slaves, something that really did happened multiple times. "Don't complain, don't be so entitled, you're just a cash cow and you're privileged for it"
while in the case of Tyi: "Don't be so entitled, I'm already paying you by making you work". We should really have a topic about Chucklefish and their fandom, it's a riot.

Honestly, I'm beginning to get sick of the hate reading and the grifters (on our side more specifically than theirs). Anyone who reads this shit (I'm referring to shit like the IGN Stellar Blade article and other similar nonsense), gets upset about it, and preaches to the proverbial choir about it (yes, we realize these people are fucking morons and have for quite some time now, welcome to the modern gaming industry) need to calm the hell down. Stop giving these people clicks. Stop giving these people ammunition. IGNORE THEM. They don't deserve your time or attention. This shit is what killed the momentum of Gamergate in the beginning. Everyone's going after these people consistently, and this is where we get all these claims of "MUH HARASSMENT" from. This is like sticking your hand on a hot stove and then acting all surprised when you burn yourself. Yes, fire hot. These people hate you. They don't want your money. They likely don't want you to kiss their ass either, (these people are ideologues, and nothing will ever be good enough for them). As much as I agree with everyone, I'm beginning to get sick of the tantrum throwing. Stop behaving like children.

(specifically, I'm referring to faggots like the geeks and gamers crew, sidescrollers, etc).

Speaking of the mythical game crash: I can only imagine the absolute chaos if you could've somehow updated atari games after they were released.*

*Probably something like the PC market where famous games like Jet Set Willy were released unbeatable and had to be fixed via pokes distributed in the magazines.
(To be fair, what do you expect from the literal schoolchildren programming them?)

Also the crash is debatable if it actually did any good. When Nintendo were top dog they had plenty of appauling anticompetetive practices that they got away with for too long. (Developers had to develop exclusively to their consoles, Howard Lincoln trying to throw SEGA under the bus amidst the violent video game legal suit, plenty of bizarre isolated incidents like when they threatened to refuse McKids unless Ocean signed a form admitting legal fault that they copied Mario and agreed to not release it on MegaDrive)

This one I find quite interesting as well. The stories of ex-cult members.

It's why I try not to Just think about how to solve the big issue, but also help deal with the brainwashed people. Cause clearly not all are a completely lost cause.
Also added the pdf of the book she's referencing near the end on the weaponization of skin color.

I'm seeing this misinformation about Stellar Blade in various sources so I will correct it.

The model for Eve's character is Shin Jae-Eun. She is not the wife of Hyung Tae Kim, the Stellar Blade director.
The wife of Hyung Tae Kim is Jiyun Chae. Both husband and wife are artists.

Both women are different people, not the same.

This post deserves an IRL medal and not just a sticker.

Instead of bitching about games that are shit, you could do the opposite thing and actually begin to recommend good older titles. There are ways you can mitigate a lot of this. Kabrutus had a good idea. List everything these people are involved with. Encourage people to ignore these games, and deprive them of revenue, then point ant laugh while they flail mindlessly wondering why their content ultimately fails.

While you're doing this, recommend actually GOOD titles from the SWATHS of older content that's available that modern Zoomers wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole because "muh graphical fidelity". Remember, you don't need good graphics to have an enjoyable time with a game. The gameplay loop has to be fun as hell and unable to be put down. There's plenty of older games that are phenomenal and a few hidden gems out there in the wild. They can't touch these games, and they (the tourists) can easily be gatekept out of the retro space.

I know it's a dirty word in the retro collecting scene, but EMULATE. Deprive the grifter collector (who's only out to make a profit and doesn't really care about games or the preservation thereof in the first place).

Always, ALWAYS remember: We don't need them. They need us.

The parallels drawn here are unreal yeah, people forget, before the crash, there was FAR too many absolutely SHITTY shovel ware games which were shoved out, KNOWING they weren't good, but predatory trying to get money. The crash FORCED videogame makers to ACTUALLY give a shit, and game quality got MUCH better (nintendo being notoriously good at the time, and going forward til at least the 2000s).

Its a different situation now, but I think this "crash" for the pieces of shit who are too big for their britches would be good. the situation NOW is incredibly well funded games making objectively bad shit, and sheer marketing trying to counter bad practices. ESG subsidizes it some, but I don't think it can wholesale pay for the industry of trash..
So with that said, bring on the "crash", nothing of value will be lost.

If it helps I think that's exactly what's going to happen. Sure the grift factory will churn like it always does but the grifters today are a lot less likely to cause any damage than they were back in the first Gamergate. Back then your big news man was Ethan Ralph and your political strategist was Milo Yiannopoulos, now its squeaky clean youtube channels like Quaterpounder and Clownfish TV which I think are ultimately harmless at least compared to 10 years ago. Where the former would without a doubt grab that DEIdetected website Kabrutus is creating and shit all over it, the ladder are just going to do their grift and likely just end up spreading awareness. I'm strangely optimistic about this one is what I'm saying.

I at least hope that's the case, it would be nice to see more people digging up hidden gems to talk about more often though.
