Diseased Rowling Derangement Syndrome - "TERF/Woke Author Bad!!1"

People are calling me naive and overly optimistic, and maybe I am, but I genuinely think we're seeing the end of this now. First Joe Biden is Weekend-At-Bernie'd into declaring Easter Sunday the new Trans Day of Visibility, now this ridiculous new hate crime legislation in Scotland, I think they've pushed their luck too far and too quickly.

I think the general population is very much against this sort of shit now. The paedophile elites aren't, obviously, so they'll keep trying, but since Rishi Sunak - a man who I quite rightly despise - came out and said that trans women are men and Keir Starmer is now distancing himself from this whole thing - arguably too little, too late after the embarrassing 'some women can have penises' thing in the past - I think the fact that this is becoming a political talking point that cannot be avoided and the whole 'trans' issue is too toxic a thing to be associated with now.
Even if the people are pissed, there isn't much to be hopeful about if the news I've seen is any indication, with people pissed that the Tories haven't listened to the wills of their constituents or addressed them, and the potential of those guys losing to Labor, who like Sadiq Khan and Hamzi Yousef (Scotland's First Minister) seem to be true believers in far left ideology creating utopia.

But aren't we constantly told by the lefties that Keir Starmer is too establishment and right-leaning and that if you vote for them, you're essentially voting for the Tories in disguise?

I mean, I personally don't think that, but I think Starmer's a smart guy, I think he can tell which way the wind is blowing and I think he knows exactly when he should shut the fuck up and what he should shut the fuck up about. I think this will be too toxic for his government to touch, even if they might want to.

If you completely ignore or misconstrue someone bringing up legitimate flaws in total tranny acceptance I'm just going to assume you are in complete support of women and children being raped and abused
No sane person could read what was tweeted and ignore it, not just ignore it but paint it as a "tantrum"

True. But it's as likely they changed her for other reasons. It was a multi-year movie series, there's a long list of reasons why the actress might get replaced over that time span and no guarantee that an actress with the right age appearance, talent for the role and ethnicity can be found.
I suppose it's not as bad for a minor character but in this day and age of people sperging about the slightest change in something, you're going to offend some small but vocal minority of the fandom changing even a background character. They seriously couldn't find a similar enough actress? It's not like black people are some vanishingly small minority.
What "purported holiday"? Unlike all the terminally online Twitter addicts who always need to announce it when they "log off Twitter" for whatever reason (and usually are unable to stay away from for longer than a couple of hours), she never announced a "holiday".
These losers can't conceive of someone having anything better to do than have slapfights with disgusting pederasts in dresses all day.

“This day and age” was 2005 - not quite the total insanity we have today. People did complain about the recasting of Lavender to white, but again, also complained about the recasting of Zabini to black. There was indeed a negative reaction among some fans, but the overall mood was “meh, who cares?”

To be fair, and despite my possibly affected judgmental tone in my earlier post, it was very obvious that the original Lavender actress (along with plenty of other characters who were demoted from "minor" to "one step above extra") was a placeholder just to make sure the character's existence was established in case she became something important later on. An oddly small number of people seemed to know what the plans for the larger story were, something that was demonstrated when they tried to cut Kreacher from Book 5 only to have Rowling inform them they needed to keep him around. (Something I find pretty dubious; Kreacher's significance to the story is something that could have been rewritten.)

Fucking savage and based. It really is hilarious that troons who have literally raped children claim to be part of the world’s most vulnerable population.
Remember, female children getting raped and ruined for life are no big deal, so long as the rapists are males in dresses claiming to be women.

Welcome to Clown World.

The law is made for man, not man for the law. Rowling is absolutely right to push against ridiculous laws like this one. By daring police to arrest her she forces them to stand behind their bureaucratic decisions — or admit it’s all toothless deference to a bunch of bully men, and safe to disregard. Like jaywalking laws.

Stop responding to the moid shitting up the thread. He just wants attention.

I'm on team "I hope they arrest her", not only because it would shine a light on how retarded the law is and further boost a spotlight on to the needs of actual women, but also because the twitter response every step of the way is going to be fucking hysterical.
