Wanting to happen because it would be funny is one thing but I am shocked how assmad people in this thread get when Nick’s acquaintances don’t publicly and loudly denounce their friend to win brownie points with his a-logs. Those Legal Mindset jabs were some snake shit, even if he was right. You settle that in private with a friend. The idea that there was going to be a mass shunning by his former peers was always a fantasy. Even Sean hasn't gone full detractor and it doesn't serve him to do such.
That doesn't even become a real factor because the cops weren't referring people and the people won't go even if they did. From what I understand, one of the major problems what that is they didn't have treatment services in place before decriminalization
To give people an idea exactly how much of a shit addicts didn't give:That doesn't even become a real factor because the cops weren't referring people and the people won't go even if they did.
When Portland cops hand out a citation, they pass along a card with a phone number for Lines for Life, 503-575-3769. The hotline is staffed by people who have gone through recovery themselves, and they provide both referrals to treatment and a mailed letter that callers can bring to court to waive the $100 fine.
The process takes from about 15 minutes to an hour. But only 32 people in Multnomah County have done it, according to data from Lines for Life.
Of those, only five have actually submitted the required paperwork to get their fines waived, according to Multnomah County Circuit Court data obtained by WW. That’s a success rate of around 1%.
As of Friday, only 10 people had paid the fine. A few dozen had their cases dismissed. For the rest, their cases are eventually sent to collections.

Don't think he currently drinks as much as it's a character thing. He admitted during an interview with Mark Rolston he cuts cheap whiskey with cola during streams.Has anyone done a comparison of how much The Critical Drinker consumes compared to Nick Rekieta?
To the best of my knowledge The Critical Drinker drinks so little nobody notices him being drunk on stream. Hell, I even doubted that he drank until I went back and closely watched his some of his streams.
At minimum, The Critical Drinker has some prop booze. I do honestly believe those are real alcoholic beverages. He doesn't do "shots for superchats," or a viewer reward, or celebration periodically throughout the stream. He does, maybe one opening drink to morn or celebrate the discussion topic. But it isn't his excuse to keep drinking.
So how many drinks does The Critical Drinker consume? Is he using a single drink or maybe even two as an atmospheric presentation to the audience? Has he ever become drunk on stream (I don't think so)?
A normal person should be able to nurse a drink for awhile and not get shitfaced, I can't remember any stream appearances where Drinker is downing drinks and licking bottles like Rekieta. Getting shitfaced any occasion that there's alcohol is something most people grow out of, so I'm not surprised that Critical Drinker is able to drink on stream without turning it into an addiction. So how many drinks does The Critical Drinker consume? Nick, just become the gay, post-structuralist university nigga you've always wanted to be already. With takes like this you'd fit right in."syllables and letters don't mean anything at all"
Maybe he's got a pile of unsold Christian lifestyle books (with foreward by Nick Rekieta), and he's freaking the fuck out?
Nick is late because he got caught up in a discussion with his wife about what happened to one of their children at church today. He needed some time to settle down because he was so angry. The incident is a perfect encapsulation of "superficial and vain christianity on the right" that "scares the shit out of" him. "There are...colleagues... of mine who go on shows and talk about very strong values about porn and watever... and for me it falls flat". What happened: his child got yelled at and had to stay after class for talking over the teacher. He or she was told that their family would be disappointed by how rude they were behaving. Nick has been "critized, reprimanded even, by people in this same church, for things I don't say at church, things I maybe say on the show... some people have taken umbrage with the... quote unquote vulgarity... this is what I'm talking about with this sort of egotistical Christianity rising up... this vain and superficial thing... where you have this set of arbitrary requirements" to not say "shit, piss, fuck" even though "syllables and letters don't mean anything at all". To him, what the teacher said to his kid is true vulgarity. Nick "doesn't even like children" and he wouldn't say that to a child. Every church you go to has rules and guidelines that have nothing to do with biblical principles, that are just invented by a bunch of Karens.
First he had to talk to his wife about a teacher (justifiably but maybe indelicately) reprimanding their kid, then he got so upset about the teacher and American Christians in general that he had to calm down before starting the show: "I had to settle down quite bit... I couldn't even talk, like, I'm enraged!"Was there any explanation about being late even after planning a late start? Or was it just “MuH ScHeDUlE”?
That's probably why he's mad at Jim too. That guy gets the serious shit Nick can't pretend his way into. But you know what? Nick can upstage him. Don't buy a hat for your hat, buy a drink for your drink, Nick. You earned it."I WISH I was doing those drugs! It sounds really fun!" etc etc.
So this explains a lot. And yet he proceeded to have five of them. Make it make sense.Nick "doesn't even like children"
