Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Ship registered to Marshall Islands was detained by German customs for carrying EU sanctioned cargo.
Customs in Rostock have detained a freighter coming from St Petersburg due to EU sanctions, which stopped at the German port unscheduled due to technical problems. The freighter was actually travelling to the US and according to media reports had loaded enriched uranium and birchwood. The latter is subject to EU sanctions. The total value of the freight amounts to around 40 million euros. The investigation is ongoing.

Legit sentry-guns are now in production by Ukraine:

We saw the prototypes last year, and this it the end result. For now they're man-in-the-loop, but I'm sure it's not long before shit like this becomes automated.
:woo:

Also, the "Ratel"....

:hah:
I've been thinking about automated guns recently, they would be perfect for guarding trenches and whatnot. Doesn't seem like it would be hard to do, in theory.
I guess one of the dangers is hacking/detection, so at the very least it can't be wireless, which already adds certain constrictions. Then there's batteries to consider, and someone would still have to reload it at some point.
Would probably still be safer, instead of having a soldier keeping watch. He could watch the gun instead.

Russian propaganda continues to publish fakes about the "shelling of Belgorod" such as this:

source

However, the government cannot even be bothered to provide shelters for locals who get scared by these lies:

Today with my disabled son we were in hell 😭 left from their entrance and the siren, the nearest entrances are closed and shelters too, we are behind the wall, under the sky where the missiles were shot down, sat and chickened out with my son, because the shelter was closed!", - the woman writes.

We recently published a post where two guys during the shelling also tried to hide (https://t.me/zhest_belgorod/41400) in a shelter, but it's the same as always.
source

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Construction recognised reality by finding Belgorod to be one of the most comfortable cities for living:
Belgorod was recognised as one of the best Russian cities with "conditionally comfortable climate". Such statistics was given by the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation.

To calculate the index, experts evaluate 36 different indicators of the quality of urban environment, which characterise the six most popular types of urban spaces. Each of them is analysed according to six indicators - safety, comfort, environmental friendliness, identity and diversity, modernity of the environment and efficiency of the authorities.

One of the rare moments of retreat-blocking detachment evidence in Russian army that was captured and published by occupiers themselves.

Russian fighter with callsign "Butcher" receives an order by radio to "move the group forward", and if they disobey - "he knows what to do with them".

The cameraman, another Russian fighter, explains that it means to nullify, to shot.

Episode happened in 60th motorized brigdade of 5th CAA (military unit 16871, Primorsky Krai) near Zavitne Bazhannia village, Donetsk Oblast.

decided to publish this video after the cameramen was reported missing for month since the episode happened.

New drone developed by Kalashnikov:

SKAT 350 M is developed on the basis of Supercam 350 drone. The drone has improved aerodynamic properties due to a new wing design. The complex of ground control devices has also been modernized, in particular, the drone has an automatic PVD operating mode and a new battery controller.
Note that this is the same Kalashnikov Group that guntuber & former Delta operator Larry Vickers was doing under-the-table business & violating sanctions with, while his channel stans & milsperg dickriders still insist he had nothing to do with the war in Ukraine; because helping fund Russian R&D with tens of thousands (or more) of dollars clearly doesn't tie him in any way to the oppression & death of Ukrainians.

This is an aside, but I really hate how the modern shipping industry has completely capitulated responsibility and allows companies to flag their vessels in literal-who irrelevant countries that don't actually even really own these ships. It prevents shit like this from being adequately prevented and punished.

It's not really the industry. It's governments.

Everyone got sick of tit for tat 'you can't ship that here because blah blah our rules', so the rule became sort of 'hey if it's an international shipment you need to let the ship in except in cases of gross, obvious danger'. Which let the companies then go 'great we'll hire all third world crews under flags of convenience' and here we are.

But if we ended flags of convenience everyone would put up bullshit trade barriers again. So I dunno what 'the answer' is.

I don't want to 'be fair' to tactitard Larry but I don't think his thinking went any beyond 'hurr durr, cool combloc machine guns for my totally-real SOT 'business''. But effectively he was in on it, yes.

My guess is it was nearly spent, skipped off something, and/or he was lucky enough to have a real k-pot.

Edit: Magyar talks about how FPV drones utilize AI for terminal guidance when being jammed, different trigger methods, anti-tamper features, and costs.
The drone he has disassembled is a Russian FPV which didn't detonate upon being brought down because the pilot neglected to remove a safety plate/button.

Our drones not only fly, but also drive just as efficiently. This machine with the call sign "Dynamo" regularly delivers various surprises with fireworks to the positions of the Russians - the 23rd separate rifle battalion of the 63rd brigade.

It's funny how the shills accuse Ukraine of using blocking forces when the evidences says otherwise. I suppose it's the old KGB thing of accusing your opponent of what the Russians/Soviets are doing.

If Ukraine had been solely hoping the US would be a reliable ally, they'd be finished (like the useless Afghan allies of the US et al). One million drones operating on land, sea and air are keeping the lines fairly immobile,

Do you think we should tell the Russians what "Skat" means in English? Or should we just let them be for the lolz?

Wanted American Man (for child pornography) Flees to Russia, Signs Military Contract
Source

A former American city council member (and Natl. Guard soldier) who is wanted in the United States on child pornography charges appears to have fled to Russia and joined the Russian military, according to footage shared by regional authorities in the northern Khanty-Mansi autonomous district.

Wilmer Puello-Mota, former city councilor of Holyoke, Massachusetts, reportedly left the United States on Jan. 7 in violation of court orders while being tried in Rhode Island for possession of child pornography.

The Massachusetts-based newspaper The Republican reported last month that people who know Puello-Mota had recognized his voice in a short video showing the capture of the Ukrainian town of Avdiivka in February.

On Wednesday evening, the Khanty-Mansi regional government’s official channel on the Telegram messaging app published a video interview at a military enlistment center with a man identified as former U.S. soldier “Wil.” The man appears to be Puello-Mota.

The Republican said Puello-Mota, 28, was a member of the U.S. National Guard before being separated from the service due to child pornography charges in October 2022.

“An American signed a military contract at the patriots center in Khanty-Mansi,” reads a message accompanying the video on Telegram. “He liberated Avdiivka fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with Russians.”

“I definitely would do it again, I’d go back if I could,” Puello-Mota says in the video as he recounts his experience fighting in an “international brigade” alongside the Russian army.

The Khanty-Mansi government did not mention Puello-Mota by name or the outstanding criminal charges against him in the United States. The video was widely circulated among influential pro-war bloggers on Telegram.

Russian authorities have not commented on Puello-Mota’s reported recruitment into the military.

I don't think Ukraine should be handling the task of dealing with our subhuman criminals, but I fully support them being sent to die with their kind, one way or another.

Edit: now for something a bit lighter. A boy who has been greeting Ukrainian helicopters with a flag gets a visit...

At the very best anyone can hope is the U.S. not being bi-polar for eight years. Especially if Trump wins the election and he continues supporting Ukraine. Which will flip most if not all of the American leftist Bidenistas from backing Ukraine to backing Russia just to spite Trump.
This is a very backwards take. Trump has stated that he’d let Russia “do what they want” in Europe. The republicans are currently blocking all assistance to ukraine based on what Trump says.
Republican members of congress are retweeting and repeating talking points (and straight up lies) posted by Russian military intelligence operatives, designed to hurt support for Ukraine.
Russia is also doing their utmost to help Trump get back into power, for which there has to be a quid pro quo. What in the blue fuck makes you think he’d suddenly start supporting Ukraine?

The only way for support to open up for Ukraine is for Trump to be imprisoned, along with the enemy agents running him (Manafort, for one) and congress purged of foreign assets.

This is a very backwards take. Trump has stated that he’d let Russia “do what they want” in Europe.
Cherry-picking quotes to create division and discredit the possible next President of the United States is a very Russian tactic, tovarisch. Trump was bragging about how he whipped the NATO free-riders into investing in defense--something they are now wishing they had done earlier.

“NATO was busted until I came along,” Trump said at a rally in Conway, South Carolina. “I said, ‘Everybody’s gonna pay.’ They said, ‘Well, if we don’t pay, are you still going to protect us?’ I said, ‘Absolutely not.’ They couldn’t believe the answer.”

Trump said “one of the presidents of a big country” at one point asked him whether the US would still defend the country if they were invaded by Russia even if they “don’t pay.”

“No, I would not protect you,” Trump recalled telling that president. “In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You got to pay. You got to pay your bills.”

Whatever he said to them, it worked. European defense spending skyrocketed after he was elected. A few countries even hit the 2% mark.

It’s not cherry picking. He’s been very open that he’s on Putin’s side. This has encouraged Putin to continue to grind the war waiting for the presidential election, and to influence that election.
Every leader in the world believes this, that is the reason they’re panicking and boosting their own support (I agree with you that should have been done in the first place) - but it’s being done now because they know Trump has turned off the tap and will keep it closed.

Some more quotes, just the first few hits on a phone browser, feel free to explain them all away and tell me how Trump is actually planning to back Ukraine.

The former U.S. president received backlash from Democrats and Republicans after describing the Russian president as "very savvy" for declaring two separatist regions of eastern Ukraine—Donetsk and Luhansk—as independent days before launching a full-scale attack.
"I went in yesterday and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius.' Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine—of Ukraine—Putin declares it as independent," Trump said on The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show on February 22.

"Joe Biden should not be dragging us further toward World War III by sending cluster munitions to Ukraine — he should be trying to END the war and stop the horrific death and destruction being caused by an incompetent administration," Trump said.

We’re giving away so much equipment, we don’t have ammunition for ourselves right now,” the ex-president said at the CNN town hall. And, he added, “we don’t have ammunition for ourselves we’re giving away so much” – comments that tapped into a seam of isolationism in the modern-day Republican Party.

When he was asked by CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins whether he believes Putin should stand trial for alleged war crimes, Trump replied: “I’ll say this: I want Europe to put up more money.”

Putin, Russia's longtime leader, said at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia, last week that he had heard "that Mr. Trump says he will resolve all burning issues within several days, including the Ukrainian crisis. We cannot help but feel happy about it."
