Inactive Byuu / byuu_nyan / setsunakun0 / Near / David Ginder - "Non-binary" furry programmer who wrote a Super Nintendo emulator, tried to blackmail Null into removing his thread, and is probably actually dead lol

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Shove it up your ass. He had a dead dozen or so page thread that he attempted to blackmail dear feeder over in order to get removed. Outside of Kiwi Farms, he was obviously never the pinnacle of stability and health to begin with. He had a million other problems before this site, and those hold infinitely more blame. You know why I think he did this? Sheer pettiness. "My problems are never my fault, they have to be someone else's. I need to blame an external entity" is the thought process here. If it weren't this place he blamed, it would've been some other forum he had ties to

We are not responsible for someone with a fragile mental state killing themselves over their extremely public behavior getting noticed. Can you not see how slippery a slope setting the precedent you're personally responsible for what others do with your words is? No, a few people out of hundreds of unique thread contributors taking the piss out of deranged terminally online individuals who claim we murder people, or just being rude, is not indicative of intent to drive people to suicide. Ridiculous
Thinking back on it, Byuu did offer Null $120,000 USD to delete his thread. I recall Null saying something along the lines of how he couldn't take it because it might be considered extortion on his part but he did offer to help Byuu move on with his life.

It definitely feels like he wanted to frame the Farms for his death. He even seemed desperate for Null to take the money. My guess is once Null took the money, he'd spin up a narrative that he was being extorted and that killing himself was the only way out. But Null wisely refused so that led to his plan B, that being simply killing himself and blaming a 14 page thread hardly anyone visited as the source of his problems.

I'm just speculating though. Who knows what was going through his head when he decided to end it all? He's still a piece of shit for doing what he did and I don't have an ounce of sympathy for him.

I never used bsnes myself, and I think I'm one of the bigger emulation spergs on the farms.

There was a whole goofy thing long ago about how Byuu designed bsnes to only work with .sfc files, despite most SNES roms being .smc, all because of his autism over accuracy. .smc roms were named as such because of the Super MagiCom game copier:
Most roms are in sfc now, not smc anymore unless theyre uploads from 2005. I like SNES9x but I consider it portable and lightweight, its akin to a mobile phone emulator. It starts to suck heavily with demanding games like Hagane or Gradius which BSNES at least tries to run properly.
But, that's why his shitty emulator didn't work, while everything else did. bsnes is closer to a development tool than an actual way to play video games. And speaking of which, nowadays I just use Mesen, which works as easily as Snes9X but has a bunch of development tools built right in. I have never actually found Byuu's own software to be useful, even when I buckled down and figured out how to use it. His multi-console emulators are interface nightmares, and he really got lost up his own ass with them. For as much work as he did, the whole concept of just dragging a ROM into the emulator and letting the emulator automatically figure out how to play it based on metadata was an alien concept.
The irony is BSNES is closer to Mesen than SNES9x is as both of them are a lot more modular and experimental. Mesen allows a ton of upgrades to your traditional NES experience, texture packs and the like. SNES9x is closer to something like NEStopia which is eh, I only keep it around cause Mesen cannot run Famicom Disk System games. BSNES in fact had the HD release which is still updated, I think it added HD sprite processing and HD mode 7 which are massive fucking upgrades especially the second one. Mode 7 is so trash in SNES9x even if it runs well but in BSNES HD the sprites dont stutter or decompose even in Mode 7. It may consume more system resources and may run a bit slower at times but it is better. Its the difference between Duckstation and epsxe or Dolphin and some trash emulator. Yeah it has some problems, keystroking is a problem, UX is pretty bad but performance wise it is better once you know how to use it.
Indian hands typed this.
I dont understand what this is supposed to mean lol.

On one hand, i kinda feel bad about it. Because despite everything he was in a really fucking shitty state of mind. And since there was no conclusive evidence about him being dead you could freely assume that he just went DFE and basically changed identities. On the other hand, i'm just certain somebody led him on to this hellhole and told him that their main harassers would ween in here or some retarded shit. He was a victim at the end but it's damn clear we were not the guilty ones in this case.

So where was his "spouse" when he supposedly killed himself like a fucking retard?
In Ohio, not even knowing that his husband was neckroping in a Japanese apartment.
Where were his friends?
He didn't have any in person. The only ones he had were online and even then the Google doc spends more effort describing what gay French song he played as he died than on describing what efforts they did to prevent his suicide.

This is the only thing I can think of that makes any sense at all with this. I believe that Near was going to kill himself regardless of Null's answer, and that he only hoped Null would have accepted his offer to do more damage.

None whatsoever. They said they just sat there like retards until he was certainly dead, listening to his gay French metal music. Almost like whoever it was wanted him dead.

If I am reading this thread right, the internet was the LEAST of this dude's real problems. He moved to JAPAN as a foreigner, sexual minority wth mental challenges.

Japan is not just a culture. It is a network. Every detail matters with regard to your place in that network. Place of Birth, parents, schools you went to, jobs you have held. All of that plays a role in where you stand in the group. When you're a foreigner, that means nobody really knows much about your particular place of birth. Nobody knows the schools you went to, they automatically has no prestige in Japan and they don't know how presitigious they are where you're from. Nobody knows who your parents are, what they do, and how respectable they are. No one knows the companies you worked for and what job you held. Thus that as well has no prestige in Japan. All of this adds up to you having not just no status, but an unknown status. Thus, the locals don't know how to address or treat you. In a culture where face is everything this makes interacting with you a risk, because if they are caught by someone else in the group not treating you how they see appropriate, they will lose face in their social group. So, between taking that risk and saying "No English" or just outright not engaging with you and thus avoiding that risk, guess what they are going to do? Yup. They are going to ostracize you and make sure that risk stays as far away from them as possible. That's what happened to Byuu. This is not a group you can join. It is a group you are born into, and he wasn't, so he was always isolated and othered.

As for being gay? That's a deviation. Given what I wrote above, you can imagine that being part of the group involves conformity to the group and its expectations. If you don't do that, then the group is going to ostracize you even harder.

Finally in terms of Mental illness, with their iron willed determination for conformity of the group, the Japanese make the KKK look like sensitive, kind people when it comes to those with mental or congenital defects.

Let's then pile on that this dude moved across the Pacific Ocean away from his family and their support structure. That his only cure to his isolation was internet asspats, and that those asspats were fading rapidly. No wonder he roped, he was a miserable wreck, and he was an extortiinist piece of shit as the cherry on the shit sundae.

Oh boy, not this shit again.

He could’ve definitely done more damage if Josh took the bribe. He wanted to put him in a compromising position where he’d lose either way.

That was part of what makes me doubt all of it. It’s a weird detail that comes off as something specific that a liar would add to embellish the story.

In Japan having a mental illness is seen as a personal flaw not fucked up brain chemistry. If you are messed up in the head that's totally on you.

Amazing redacting skills, since the same text appears more than once:

there are quite a few woopsie-daisies with the redacting. that's an interesting one, though, considering it's contents:

[ ... ] three years ago he wrote a very personal, private message to a message board owner that was made public. It included -among many other personal details- that he was transgender and was administering HRT to himself. He was viciously bullied. Recently, he offered $120,000 USD to the owner of the message board to remove the old thread. If the message wasn't removed, he said he would commit suicide. The owner then made this message public. More vicious bullying and threats ensued. Mr. Ginder then tweeted that he was going to kill himself and posted various photos of tools he would use to do it (prescription bottles, Codeine, rope).

here's another one regarding his estranged husband's request for an autopsy / toxicology screening after the embassy informed him that, in the absence of foul play, an autopsy would not be conducted unless it was requested by the next of kin (in this case, the ex-husband):

and here's another one in the notes from the embassy regarding the post-mortem report, in which the comment about the doctor finding "a large amount of drugs in the stomach" is unredacted, as well as the ex's name (patrick):

two separate troll requests for information were denied by the embassy ...

on july 9th, 2021, "an independent investigator and writer" sent a request (from an iphone) about "missing american david ginder" while also mentioning "a very real possibility that he may have faked his death":

on august 9th, 2021, someone else (a woman, based on the response) sent a request (from a protonmail account) about a "us citizen in arakawa" on behalf of "friends and family of david":

Feature: Emulator developer Byuu is probably dead.

Me: Again?! If this faggot wasn't thrown into Tokyo Bay...
i don't mean to belittle a man's death, but your post made me lol because:

It feels like that's what they said because that's the only thing of note that happened in the call. There's a disturbing omission of anything about speaking with Byuu and convincing him to not go through with it, which is what I would have done.

I could forgive them not being able to find the address in time since after all the man was a recluse with tight opsec. But I have serious questions for the caller and why the doc doesn't talk about them attempting to console Byuu or do literally anything besides listen to his French music.

True, I was being hyperbolic. IMHO the Sagamihara stabbings do shine a rather nasty light on Japanese attitudes towards the disabled in general, incluiding the mentally ill/disabled.
