Because it's easy. No need for complex game development and concepts. Find some niche artstyle no one did lately, appeal to headcases and coomers, add some meme gameplay shtick (YOUR LEGS ARE CHAINSAWS) and you will likely get a massive return on the investment if you groomed enough Discord teens to yell at influencers to play the game.

It's bullshit. If you are a small time Youtuber no one gives a shit about your opinions. Being nice to companies once you are established is primarily to get early review copies and get those sweet YouTube bucks. Being nice to trannies is especially retarded as they will inevitably turn on you once you associate with the wrong person.

I want to say you should appeal to your original viewers but it can devolve into incomprehensible inside jokes and enablers making the worst qualities of the content creator.

First thing first, kudos for Civvie to include stopkillinggames in the video.

As for the games features.
* First is meme game, though to be fair it's always fun to have a follow up for gag date.
* Second game looks legit good.
* Third game is zoomer trash roguelike.
* Fourth game is at least post 2000 fps, but looks too janky and ugly.
* Fifth game might be good if the humour is similar to ps2 era games rather than modern pop culture reference humour. Seems to have little enemy variety.
* The rest all look like uninspired shit.

Overall while still too dick sucking at least the games are varied this time.

Other, lesser gamers have been hollering their throats raw for fucking years about the "you don't really own it" pitfall of digital games and marketplaces, but Ubisoft does a retard and shitcans some racing game and now suddenly you fuckers make the mouth noises that you care? What, you couldn't be fucked to notice when other games got lost in the internet mists? Did nobody notice when Darkspore got the Old Yeller treatment like a decade ago? You just now realized that your live service games and digital-only copies can get switched off with zero notice whatsoever?

... Maybe I'm just being cynical and autistic.

The reasons for the Stop Killing Games campaign only being a thing now are twofold; firstly, the linchpin game of the campaign, The Crew, was a juicy target due to the nationality of the publisher, and secondly, the guy behind it, Ross Scott, is the only person both autistic and famous enough to do anything, and that's after he already tried naive solutions like "tell people to write letters to big publishers saying this makes you sad!"

Like what's the appeal of Dyke Nukem or this ugly looking Brutal John game or the "joke is that it's super edgy" game? I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't AI and was instead just a farm of southeast asians of some kind posting shit.

I've worked with overseas devs that would do shit like that because you weren't there to grab them by the back of the head and force them to look at the context of the phrase you wanted them to use in a webdev project's helptext or field title.

Really gets me thinking there's something to all the talk about Amazon astroturfing Fallout on YouTube and there being both bots and real shills being paid to attack or defend that piece of shit show if even some rando boomer shooter is getting paid shills bots.

This was a good one. AVP is one of my favorite boomer shooters but yeah, the game is jank in a lot of places but it earns a pass given the state of the technology at the time and what the game was doing by providing essentially 3 different ways to play the game.

Sorry to jump you a month later but I gotta yell this from the rooftops.
Some external team (Voidpoint) made an amazing spin-off to 3D Realms's shitty Duke RPG project and now 3D Realms are trying to capitalize on it by making their own FPS based on the spin-off.
Even if they didn't run out of money halfway through - it was never going to end well.
