Since when is Schmee a nurse? I've heard / read around the reactosphere the last few days speculation similar to:
"since Schmee is a nurse, she got Chantal the therapist appointment," and the like.

But SINCE WHEN is Chantal's mother employed in any capacity in the medical field?

Last I heard regarding Schmee's career track was in Fall/Christmas '22 when Foodie was happy to get new Skechers free cuz Mom worked selling them and got a discount.

Schmee, being a teen mom, at best, graduated with a GED. Not RN material, in any way, shape or form. Had she been interested in upgrading her education, then it’s possible. I think mommy dearest works in some sort of support role and nothing requiring a university degree.

That said, her home looks decently furnished and clean, she has a gainfully employed husband and she has a dog Buster who is a good judge of character.

I can see Schmee being a nurse’s aide or personal support worker.

I vaguely remember this very thing coming up thousands of pages ago and for reasons I can’t recall, the consensus was that this what what she did for a living and… works, (or did then), at a nursing home.

There are 6 month PSW courses available at many community colleges and they’re not that expensive.

We’re desperately short of these care aides and welfare moms with their kids finally old enough to all be in school are being strongly encouraged to get the training, then a job in the field.

The wages put you solidly in the working class but it beats the welfare class by a mile.

I can see Schmee having done something of the sort and her working in the health care field, (shift work) BUT, it’s a theory on my part and I have no facts to back my musings.

Thankyou. Unlike others I can believe Schmee is an RN. She made a stupid decision as a teen to deliberately get pregnant, and the result of that was a bad seed. I won’t question her mothering ability based on the behaviour of her first born, because I do believe Chantal was a cluster B nightmare child, and Schmee was a teenager incapable of being able to deal with it. Schmee did make some very mature choices, like sending her firstborn into care after a 100% manipulative suicide attempt. Just because she continues to provide (what I see as minimal) support, doesn’t mean she couldn’t have trained for an ongoing nursing career.

ETA: Aged care homes do have actual RNs on staff. Plus I know lots of nurses that started out doing the EN course, so they could get on a hospital payroll faster, but later went on to study for their RN part time while still being able to bring home a wage.

Sort of ninjaed by @I call shenanigans. Some of us give Smee a lot more credit than most farmers do. Yeah, she was an idiot to try to trap a man by becoming a teen mom, but it seems she did the best she could. I don't think she just dropped Chantal off with grandmas and babysitters while she was sharmuting. She was working and trying to make a better life for herself and her spawn. I was just going to post something along those lines. We have no verification of any of Chantal’s assertions about her mother… a big, fat zero.

Was Chantal foisted on her grandmother? We don’t know that either. She used to tend to trot out her own ‘lore’ when she was being given a hard time. Or when she wanted attention.

Regardless, the young Kim obviously learned how to assume adult responsibility and when Chantal shows still shots from her mother’s place, it’s clean and well organized.

I suspect Chantal could have been raised by a pair of practicing developmental psychologists and still have turned the nightmare She is today.

Rule 1 applies. Gunt lies. But she also tells on her self. You need to take a piece of information she gives you, and see if it tracks with other cross references, behaviors etc.

Why do we believe the grandma pudding cup story? Cus it tracks. Same with Kim etc. it tracks with how she treats Chantal, her child hood, and how Chantal acts now....like someone who was raised by that type of person in that type of environment. There was probably a lot of discussions about the father, hateful language etc, around Chantal while she was young to further give her that impression...and her daddy issues.

The real part about rule #1 that all her lies always fall apart with any scrutiny, or she gives evidence outing the lie. I dont recall any thing that counter indicates her mom trying to baby trap a man as a young in love teenager.

The part I dont get was the talk about her father being such a horrible drunk is why she could never see him and he had to be away etc. I think that was cope from Kim. There is evidence (his 2 normal children and wife) to say otherwise. But maybe he got his drinking under control. Why would Kim try to baby trap a man and then shun him for being a reckless alcoholic? More likely she got dumped hard with the baby.

Who knows maybe the baby trap story is completely made up by Chantal, but it was invented in her mind so long ago that theres no way even she knows its a lie. Re Chantal, the problem arises because she doesn’t think or act like a responsible adult.

She doesn’t bathe regularly and must stink to high heaven even after her brief encounter with a monthly shower or daily ablutions with a wash cloth! Horrendous to have that foisted onto relatives or friends, however concerned or caring they may be!

There’s Foodie’s insatiable appetite for junk food and ordering out. Who would want that stench in their tidy, comfortable home, with FB lounging on the couch like a seal night after night?

Schmee has her husband to consider. As FB’s step-father, he won’t be as emotionally invested as Foodie’s Mom or Rasta Aunt and will resent his home being used as a motel.

If FB is not lying this time and actually is looking for a place of her own, that’s likely to mean she will be in Canada for sometime. What’s the usual Letting Agreement? 6 months, 12 months?

Chantal needs to remain in Canada in order to address immediate health issues, gain some control and lose weight. Whether it not she will do so remains to be seen.

What are you even talking about? Virtually every nursing program takes a GED at this point. I really hope you don’t have this attitude if you’re ever in the hospital and need to be taken care of lol because I’ve got bad news if you think that all working RNs were exceptional students with high school diplomas. Nursing shortage aside, all you have to do in most cases is take a bit of extra coursework at community college.

I always doubted this part of the narrative since rule #1 is that Chantal lies and rule #3 is that Chantal hates women, especcially mothers.
For some reason it got accepted as part of the lore evwn though Chantal is a unreliable narrator, but I guess it has a certain, correct ring to it that a rotten person was created under rotten circumstances?
But seriously, I would not be surprised if Chantal had issues with the fact that her mom was once young and desired by someone. Hey, a mother is supposed to dedicate 24/7 to care for her offspring and isnt even allowed to do youtube for fun!
