I think you and the other guy are on parallel tracks, you're considering how TPTB evaluate returns in terms of public support, while the other guy is considering how TPTB evaluate returns despite public support and its consequences

After a thousand years of conflict, Islam stopped being a threat to us in the 1600s. Jews didn't do that. The cannon foundry at Venice did. Finally, the political and imperial vitality of Islam was shattered in 1918. Once again, Jews didn't do that. The British Empire, stabbing the Ottomans' soft underbelly in WWI, did. The only reason we even talk about Islam as a threat today is that, for some reason, every Western nation has now agreed that it is deeply racist to have countries for our own people where the Muslims aren't invited in by the million.

And why do we do that? Because every time we say the sane thing, which is that sand barbarians should fuck off forever to their sand-blasted shithole and not come to Elysium, a certain ethnic group that has enormously outsized financial influence starts shrieking and crying about muh hall of costs and muh six gorillion and how if we can exclude sand barbarians from our techno-paradise, then what's to stop us from rounding up and gassing innocent Jews by the train load? If we can punish Muslims for exercising their cultural value of raping children, then we're just one step away from shooting Jews for observing Yom Kippur!

Somehow, we didn't have Arab truck drivers smashing into crowds until Jews hit on this idea that they could use the Holocaust to guilt us all into letting barbarians in through the front door and give them broad exceptions to laws against rape and child abuse. Almost like Muslims have actually been a defanged, powerless relic of the Iron Age, and wouldn't be a problem without someone undermining us from within.

That's what's so grating. We won. We beat Islam in 1918. It was a spent force. It had, has, and never will have the ability to produce the kinds of weapons it needs to invade our lands. Then Jews somehow decided that the implication of Hitler's Ultrasperg Chimpout '44 is that they need to work tirelessly to bring those savages here, from direct political agitation to running NGOs to physically ship them here, and then fight in court to ensure that they don't get punished for their savagery when the inevitable happens. Because again, in their insane, neurotic minds, if we're allowed to accurately identify the problem Islam is and taking steps to keep it out, we're also gonna start shoving Jews in cattle cars and shipping them to summer fun camp.

No, Jews are not protecting us from Islam. Jews are the reason we have problems with Islam in our countries in the first place.

I actually think he misread what I wrote. So did you. I am saying that things -won't- go how TBTB think they will, because they are missing the important piece of what makes a "Wartime Presidency" get approval boosts. What he doesn't seem to get is that -we agree-. Oh, I absolutely would believe it if they started a war with that as their intent. I would roll my eyes so far back I could view my brain at the sheer stupidity of it... but I'd believe it. My point has always been though that it... won't go as they expect it to.

Yes, the lack of some sort of uniting theme that makes people want to stay in a war, especially in this economy, would unite jack and shit. Short of an attack on American soil with Putler gleefully shouting how he did it... I can't really see the right getting on board. They'd need something truly impressive to budge the needle beyond "I don't care, my groceries now cost me a mortgage payment".

But, these are the same people who keep posting obviously doctored jobs reports and seem to legitimately believe people are buying it. They would absolutely believe their own bullshit.

Uh, I think everybody understood what you're trying to say, Gehenna.

The thing is, there's an increasing amount of people who do not believe that the will or opinions of the electorate matter. That the Democrats have enough dumb minority and AWFL voters who vote on gibs and social issues alone that they can do anything and they will have the margins to almost win outright.

The thread isn’t particularly a beauty either. If I threadbanned everyone and replaced them with bots spamming “glass Israel” and “noooo, glass Iran”, no one would be able to see the difference, because that’s 90% of posts there.
