Uh, I think everybody understood what you're trying to say, Gehenna.

The thing is, there's an increasing amount of people who do not believe that the will or opinions of the electorate matter. That the Democrats have enough dumb minority and AWFL voters who vote on gibs and social issues alone that they can do anything and they will have the margins to almost win outright.
I'm sorry, there aren't enough liberal women and black people in the country for any government to survive putting boots on the ground in Russia.
I don't care how much you think they believe themselves to be above the opinion of mere proles, a hot war with an actual rival power instead of some terrorists in a Toyota Hilux would result in so many casualties that even the liberal women would start second guessing cheering on the regime that led to that reality.

They dont care and they will cheer for it even till their dying breathe. They arent going to be drafted, they wont be on the front lines. They couldn't care less.

Yeah if the 20 year War on Terror taught me anything it's that liberal white women won't use the boyfriend they cheated on the entire time he was on deployment as an excuse to clutch pearls and demand peace because it might make them look like better people

I agree. I guess I more was talking about genuinely caring about someone's life and not doing so because its trendy.

Hmm.. Didn't see on here yet.

No mask, so probably not a glow op. But they probably tried to get that guy to shoot up a school or something

Yes, the lack of some sort of uniting theme that makes people want to stay in a war,
what i m seeing and often bitch about is to barrow a term you use. --political capital-- of the great war on terror.

from my pop culture knowledge 9/11 wrote a blank check. and the GOP went drunkin salior on it.

We got nothing for it. We got a black POTUS, we got the daily show mocking the GOP for being warmongering babies screaming at the POTUS for being a black man. The left got to be morally right for saying "should we grab and water board goat fuckers?"

OWS started and I still want to know who ketchup was, and we get the woke shit. progressive stack while (((people))) push pride

The GOP is having a fucking leadership crisis because there was never a fucking moment the people who supported the forever war to walk it back and shut it down. till trump starts giving voice to this shit and i think the fact he was an outsider that fucking jumped the line to highest office in the land added to the sheer institutional revolt

To tie it back to the war shit. i agree that it would take another 9/11 or a article 5 event

Wonder what's happening with the Republican National Committee?

You’re rehired: Trump’s RNC chaos continues with reversal of 60 firings and high-level frustration

Former President Donald Trump‘s team recently rehired 60 former Republican National Committee staffers who were asked to resign when Trump took over the party‘s financing arm, marking the latest twist for the committee.

The 60 staffers, which include regional political directors, members of the data and state strategy teams, and most of the RNC’s state directors, were initially asked to resign and reapply for their positions during the first day of Trump’s takeover.

Several of the people who were not rehired were people who had leaked information, the campaign said in a call to reporters last week.

“Chris [LaCivita] and Susie [Wiles] care about the status of the RNC and how the team comes together,” Trump campaign spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez told Axios. “The leaders talk to make sure they are on the same page.”

The reversal is the latest in a string of issues for the RNC since Trump and his allies took power last month. Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump, and Michael Whatley are now RNC co-chairs after former RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel’s was ousted.

Other issues include backlash over a reported plan to cut community centers and an early voting program, backlash over Lara Trump suggesting the RNC might pay the former president’s legal bills, and asking job applicants whether they believe the 2020 election was stolen.

The plan to cut community centers and an early voting program forced Whatley to put out a statement of support for the program and centers, and the RNC has clarified that it is not paying Trump’s legal fees, but a pro-Trump PAC is helping with the costs.

All the bad press had top leaders, including co-campaign manager for Trump, Susie Wiles, concerned. On March 15, Wiles told staffers that things had to change, according to Axios.

The reversal also highlights the committee’s need to expand its operations in order to be fully operational and effective. It comes as Trump and the RNC finish the first quarter of the 2024 fiscal year with a combined $93 million in cash. However, Trump is expected to rake in another $33 million from a fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

I mean, thats a seperate issue. And a real one. One which I too have some pretty significant worry for...

But then I see things like #VoteBlue2024ProtectDemocracy and I have to also concede that this -reeks- of desperation. On one hand the elites make decisions like they already won which is... concerning. On the other hand their ground game is acting like the skies about to fall.

Well duh, you have to.

The left runs on grift and insanity. If they don't act like the sky is falling 24/7 the gravy train might stop.
Not... quite. They need to act like the other party is evil, yes. Like we are one bad admin away from tyranny. The issue is that its one of balance, if you go too far you actually drive away voters. Everyone likes an underdog but nobody wants to hitch themselves to the losing team.

The ground game stuff has been far towards the latter not the former. Now, there are plenty of possible explanations here. For example, this could simply be the end stage of their ramping rhetoric. But... the distinct difference in Elite Versus Groundgame says that something else is the likely cause.

its one of those odd details that could be argued for good and bad.

Wonder what's happening with the Republican National Committee?

IMO, this is a non-story.

The 60 staffers ... were initially asked to resign and reapply for their positions during the first day of Trump’s takeover.

This is pretty standard practice in the commercial sector. When new management comes in after a takeover, they'll often commence mass firings and rehire from the pool they just fired, based on their CV, experience, and willingness to take a yuge pay cut. It only looks weird because the RNC isn't a commercial organisation as such, but is rather more of a NGO with capitalist characteristics. Its leadership have been political animals rather than business leaders.
