I can think of another sound byte involving a certain other bridge level that'd work just as well...
good point, but for purposes of having it "normie friendly", that might not be the best idea for a meme shared outside here.
Unless you were going to throw in pewdiepies "Oh my god what a fucking" right before the bridge blew up in l4d2

What color is Alyssa again?

We know, Alyssa.

I feel like you could rip the soundbyte from left4dead2 parish finale as an easy meme identifier for this. A pretty iconic line on the radio, guy saying "thats coming from the BRIDGE!!!" and "negative bridge"
Don't have the means to rip it at the moment, but if anyone wants to rip the audio for the memes, have at it.

Could also meme up the bridge exploding scene at 8:07 in the same video for it.
I'm shitty with video editing, but if anyone wanted to make a 10 second meme clip with that idea, feel free. If they are going to rebrand, might as well rebrand the memes too right?
Shame Ross from Accursed Farms isn't too big on getting political, at least not on choosing sides. This sounds like something he would do.
Speaking of which, I'm glad he's actually trying to save games while we're at the trenches with these danger hair degenerates. At the end of the day, ESG or DEI or BRIDGE or whatever they call it this week isn't the only problem, remove them and the industry has been shit for much longer than that. There is still a lot of cleaning up to do even once these "consultant" companies go under.

Basically, those acronyms are supposed to allow the companies to do things like include predatory microtransaction, release broken bug filled games and inflict PC crippling DRM while still saying, "See we're the good guys" and to get both the enthusiast and mainstream press to side with them. The problem is, the mainstream press has pretty much always been viewed with hostility and suspicion by people who actually play videogames. The "enthusiast press," on the other hand, has largely been replaced by Steam reviews and cartoon women on Twitch. Kabrutus' Steam curator (whatever you might think of the man himself) is more important than Kotaku in the modern videogame landscape.

When the people rebels, the power always trembles.
Ironic. Now that power is in hands of the same people who fought the "authority" decades ago.
Now they are feeling how the majority is showing their backs.

Not necessarily SBI related, but I thought it was interesting given the current climate.

Most Gamers Playing Pre-2018 Titles

In times past there was often a steady clip of new major AA and AAA video games coming out from a range of publishers.

That seems to have died off somewhat in the 2020s thus far as the live-service gaming trend has taken hold and the expense of making games has become prohibitive to the point that there seems to be fewer major releases than ever before.

Now, Newzoo (via Kotaku) has released its second annual games industry report which suggests some potential reasoning as to why this is happening thanks to data showcasing consumer spending and gameplay in this sector in 2023.

It turns out new games are having a hard time breaking through as players are spending more time in already-established franchises and live service games.

In fact, just 66 game titles accounted for 80% of all computer game playtime in 2023 – and 60% of all playtime was for games made before 2018.

27% of all playtime in 2023 went on just five games in particular – “Fortnite,” “GTA V,” “League of Legends,” “Minecraft” and “Roblox”. 23% of playtime went on annualised sequels like “FIFA” or “Madden”.

Just 8% went to new, non-annual games which would include titles like “Diablo IV,” “Baldur’s Gate III” and “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”.

Just one dedicated single-player game, “Starfield,” made the top ten playtime list across console platforms with most slots going to usual suspects like “GTA V,” “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare,” “Counter-Strike,” “Apex Legends,” “The Sims 4,” “Valorant,” “Rocket League,” and “Fall Guys”. “Fornite” took the top spot on every platform.

The report indicates that gamers are spending less and less time in new games and more in already-established franchises and live-service titles – making it harder for publishers and developers to find an audience with new titles.

Finally, the report indicates the games industry grew by 2.6% in 2023 to reach an astonishing $93.5 billion in revenue.

Maybe turning every single game into Assassin's Creed was a bad idea.

There's also how many devs don't even make games or design/write characters for their audiences, they make shit for themselves so they can brag about how woke they are on twitter.

Seriously, this character was not designed for any existing audience.

Sure, but if that's your stance, just get right to the point.

This culture of HR departments, connections, and corporate welfare has to be completely gutted. Gamergate blew the lid off walking simulators being funded by grant money, and shit bags in San Francisco trading sex for favours. Before that we had journos trading access and ad deals for review scores.

The problem is each time they're exposed they fail upwards until they're too toxic to touch, at which point they either disappear forever or change the grift. There is simply no way around this. Right now people are making progress due to ESG money running out, but what could you feasibly do about DARPA funding? What's the plan for breaking up the SanFran bubble of game journos communicating on secret Discord servers and email chains?

I'm not disputing that initiatives like BRIDGE or similar rebrandings aren't influenced by public perception or attempts to avoid attention from certain lawmakers. However, it should be noted that these rebrandings are part of a natural lifecycle of these types of initiatives, and they do it to make money. If you've seen how any of these consulting and training companies operate, you'll see it's no different than what happens with suicide prevention initiatives or worker safety initiatives and so on.

While I'm not a DEI specialist, I'll use it as the example here. I am very familiar with the life cycles of similar initiatives.

So let's start back in time. DEI is a concept that amalgamates various elements dating back to the '60s and the inception of Affirmative Action. The concept of DEI and what it encompasses has grown over the years. Despite this growth, there remains a lack of clear definition for DEI, guidelines for organizational implementation, or established training standards. The acronym DEI isn't even used at this point.

Now it's the time of Orange Man being President and St. George being martyred. It's time to make some money.

But now you need to make DEI sound new and exciting to capture the zeal in this moment. And it's not just a small step evolution from the don't call your co-worker a nigger or don't be misogynist trainings of old. Numerous opportunists jump into the DEI space, offering trainings and audits without much substance but hitting the buzzwords and adding things about fags, neurodivergence and whatever else. DEI, being a broad concept, allows anyone to claim expertise in providing DEI consulting.

To differentiate themselves, major players aim to establish benchmarks and standardize DEI training and consulting. They often reference junk social science to give these standards credibility. Meanwhile, they develop copyrighted trainings and solutions that align with these emerging standards, securing a competitive edge.

With these "science"-backed standards in hand, they persuade businesses and organizations to adopt their specific standards. To expand their reach, they lobby trade groups and, where relevant, government regulators to mandate DEI training that meets their criteria, creating a captive market.

The real profit begins when they license their copyrighted, proprietary training to other companies or allow internal training by organizations. They sell trainings to train the people who just paid to license the trainings. They also introduce auditing programs to assess the effectiveness of these trainings that they can sell to organizations. Now, for a time, they can sit back and collect the licensing and certification fees. Depending on the market, this can go on and be a reliable cash cow with low effort required for many, many years. Or in a space like DEI and it being such a hot topic issue, you need to keep innovating and finding ways to secure your advantage.

So as market saturation approaches and enthusiasm dips, they introduce something like "BRIDGE." Marketed as the next level of DEI, BRIDGE is a proprietary concept they can sell at a premium to organizations eager to demonstrate their commitment to DEI and the memory of St. George. By this point, they've reduced licensing fees for their original DEI content and garnered goodwill through strategic donations such as providing training materials or free licenses to nonprofits, avoiding backlash over monopolistic practices. Thus, they maintain control over a lucrative, copyrighted BRIDGE program that no one else can use the name of, capitalizing on the ongoing demand for DEI.

And the cycle just repeats itself. Over time they might get BRIDGE accepted as the new minimum standard, license it to anyone who wants to use it and then develop their own BRIDGE PLUS as a premium training. Whatever the next big progressive talking point is, there will be a consulting/training firm that will capitalize on it. "You know BRIDGE is good and all, but it doesn't address the needs for training about inclusive restrooms for troons. You need to get NOOSE training that only our organization offers."

The roaches scatter when exposed to sunlight. Make sure to out them and watch the fireworks fly. This whole thing started because someone took the publicly available information and used it to compile a list, do the same with DARPA and any other shitbag even remotely involved. I want names, thousands of them, and I want all of them blacklisted, make sure that millions of people will see them.
