A massive Meta outage is locking users out of Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads on Tuesday morning.

Facebook, Instagram, and Threads are all experiencing issues. The three Meta-owned platforms aren’t working for many users, with the widespread outage seeming to start around 10AM ET.
Facebook is logging users out of their accounts, leaving them unable to get back in. Meanwhile, over on Instagram, some users, including several of my colleagues at The Verge, can’t refresh their feeds. While I can still refresh my feed on Instagram, stories and comments aren’t loading.
Threads also appears to be completely down. When opening the app, it displays an error message that says “Sorry, something went wrong. Try again.” WhatsApp, which is also owned by Meta, still appears to be working.
Reports on DownDetector rapidly spiked for all three platforms this morning, and Meta has yet to acknowledge the issue The Verge reached out to Meta to see if it’s working on a fix but didn’t immediately hear back.

Use this thread to dab on Facebook, Instagram and Threads users.

You know the world is upside down when KF is working without a hiccup but fucking Facebook is down.

Wonder if they are just trying to purge the bots as it's getting pretty bad now and obvious that they don't have a lot of real users.

Remember when Threads was touted as the replacement to Twitter?
Remember when the media ran ads for Threads saying they were gaining fifty gorillion users a day?

turns out they were all bots.

At what point do media sites realize they will have to start distinguishing between bot traffic and real users and filter out the bots?

If, and a big if, that ever happens, the tech industry will collapse like a house of cards, wiping multiple billions of dollars out. Everyone knows the dirty secret that social media, gaming, movie and TV show engagement numbers are all bullshit, but no-one dare move that Jenga block.
