Furry Convention Drama - Because you can't have a couple thousand dog fucking enthusiasts under the same roof without shit hitting the fan

As many of you have suggested, the Detroit Free Press confirms that a threat of some kind was made to the convention. Maybe they're the media presence that was mentioned earlier?

There are posts from attendees stating that it was a bomb threat, but as of right now there is no official statement from the convention. Considering recent violent threats at LVFC, 2024 might be shaping up to be quite a year for conventions.

It was a bomb threat according to the dispatch audio. They were searching vehicles for devices then started to search inside.


Edit: Also, heard from someone attending the event that it was a bomb threat and they were woken up to evacuate. They moved attendees to the lobbies of nearby hotels. Apparently it happened last year too?

Does seem odd to say not to talk to the media over a simple bomb threat.
I mean is this their first time or something?
I'd think convention organizers understand how these things work and have a standard playbook.
Then again all these sex pests act like they're doing weird shit even when they're not. Because they are and just haven't been caught.

It happened to them last year, so I am thinking that there is some pest who has beef with them calling it in every year trying to cause trouble for the event. Probably trying to not give them attention.

Yeah this is really fucking weird. You'd think if it was something out of their control, they would just come out and say what happened.

My pet theory is that a "popufur" got caught raping a kid or dog. Furries, being more concerned with reputation instead of human decency, tried to cover it up.

Is it probably a 'normal' bomb threat and the event organizers are trying to reduce the morale damage from it? Probable. Could there also be degenerate extremely illegal shit they're also trying to cover up? Possible.
I'm going with the safe option of saying they just want to be delicate about this form of SWATing, it's the simplest answer, and considering Police were combing the building probably not a way to cover up some other crime.

MCFC threat was confirmed by authorities as a bomb threat, as google.com indicated through scanner chatter (edit: nice work).

The threat itself uses the word "we" suggesting that the person did not act alone (though this could be a ruse), and calls for action by suggesting that furries should repent for their sins. There is really nothing of substance to the threat itself, lending credence that this person probably has some personal issue with the convention itself.

I imagine that federal law enforcement will get involved now to investigate, of all things, funny animal terrorism. 20 years; I hope it was worth it.
