Why the fuck do we need a voice when all we need to do is not buy these shit games?
Why this gay “muh movement” shit when all we need to do is not open our wallets?
Let the grifters grift, the autists autist, the harassers harass; us not spending any money will fix things faster than any of those wankers.
Also, for the love of Christ, stop pirating these shit games. It’s like saying you’re not gay because you use Adblock whilst watching gay porn.
There’s only so long that these companies can run on fumes. Once the money runs out they have to survive on venture capital and that shit has dried up despite what the retard drama channels screaming about Blackrock have told you.
Kotaku is almost dead, it won’t surprise me if Polygon is reduced to one one man hobby ‘zine soon.
If no one is playing the games there is no money to pay for the bullshit. It’s that fucking simple.
If you want a bit of Marxist theory the gaming journalist and DEI consultants should but don’t understand: “the infrastructure influences the superstructure.”
Why keep cutting heads of a hydra when you can just starve the fucker?
Also, should I have to explain the concept of “leaderless resistance” to a website full of people who LARP as edgy whites?
Don’t have leaders. Ever.
Just not buying games isn't enough. Its also about making it clear what you want to see in the industry. These woke bastards will always find more money. Venture capital does still exists, and there is still plenty of money there. There are long lists of NGOs willing to shill and send money to support the cause, and even the government is funneling money to these motherfuckers. Maybe the bottom will fall out at some point, but what then? Its not just about not sending them your money, its also about pushing back. Its about supporting actual good games being made today that don't cater to this bullshit, and not just 20 year old games that nobody tracks the sales of anymore. Its about complaining to these companies louder than the SJWs when they pull bullshit so that they know its unpopular. Make DEI as verboten to these bastards as racism is. Make it clear that this shit is radioactive, and companies will run, not walk, away from it. If there is one thing companies don't want, its bad publicity. The media may try to influence the narrative, but their ability to do that has been waning for decades now, and they no longer control the narrative.
So what do you want people to do?
Just what I said above. Speak up. With their mouth and their wallet. Make their voice heard, then be the change they want to see.
It isn't a just about retard drama channels.
Microsoft and Sony will not likely run out of money. Microsoft is a juggernaut in the computer world and will not slow down or be stopped. The games division can be run at a loss as long as they want it to. Sony is also a juggernaut (in Japan) - electronics, music, movies - they've got a lot of fingers in a lot of pies and they can also run at a loss for nearly as long as they want.
Sony owns 21 major development studios and tons of IPs, Microsoft owns 23 and even more. Outside of Nintendo (which targets a specifically different audience and uses cheap hardware) most other video game companies that could possibly compete with Sony / Microsoft aren't in a position to do so (Blizzard/Acti was sold, Ubisoft is dying, Embracer is dying, Konami is a casino/mobile company) and won't ever be. A lot of these companies are also incestious and have stock and holdings in other companies as well. Most indie studios cannot compete with this at all (and have to use the major studios as publishers anyhow) so they're going to fall in line with what the major players dictate are the rules.
People like us not buying a game that we weren't going to buy anyway doesn't matter all that much - when millions of people gladly do it. The best thing to do is outreach and try and take that market segment away by directing it elsewhere - which is cringy but why people make videos/articles/etc about it and why there was a stream group for avoiding Sweet Baby games in the first place. Most people don't care about this stuff but nothing is going to change unless a large enough segment of people help to starve the beast.
While Microsoft have infinite money, that doesn't translate to infinite patience. One of the things that massive leak back during the Activision buyout trial revealed was that if Microsoft doesn't see a return in gaming, most like through Game Pass, within the next few years, they will most likely leave the industry entirely by like 2027. Microsoft are not interested in continuing to invest in a dead product that brings no gain for them. They've had no lasting success in gaming, and will bow out if things don't dramatically improve in some fashion, and it looks like that will be the case, because Game Pass growth has stalled out.
Sony
don't have infinite money. They spent the turn of the century and the ensuing two decades losing money, and began selling off divisions to compensate for it, and are still doing so. Gaming is actually their cash cow, and is their biggest money maker alongside their financial business and semiconductors. They can't afford to maintain the current situation where nobody in Japan owns a PS5 and they are a distant second to Nintendo everywhere else, and nobody is buying their games because they don't have any. The death of the AAA third party industry will hit Sony harder than it will hit anybody else. Microsoft insulated themselves a bit with buying Activision Blizzard and Zenimax, though its a toss up if those investments will ever pan out (I vote that they won't). Sony is entirely dependent on western third parties for support because their own internal development is damn near non-existent and only make one type of game besides. Nintendo is the only company that can whether the coming storm, because they are the actual market leader and they already have a large, robust, internal development studio.
