Cartoon Industry thread - Showcasing the Spergery of the Animation Industry

I found some fascinating reviews about Full Sail University on Yelp! directory.

My experience at Full Sail University has been disappointing and disheartening. The lack of support for students with mental health challenges, inconsistencies in teaching methods, and questionable grading practices have significantly hindered my educational journey. The blame placed on students with PTSD by Phoebe Elefonte, an instructor, is unacceptable.

Inconsistencies in teaching methods and terminology among instructors have created confusion and undermined the learning experience. The online degree program and tutoring services are inadequate, forcing students to rely on external resources for proper instruction. Instructors' incompetence in teaching coding fundamentals has left students struggling to grasp the material. Questionable grading practices, including hidden rubrics and subjective evaluations, have created uncertainty and frustration. The lack of support, inconsistent teaching methods, and unfair grading practices have had a negative impact on my mental well-being.

BEWARE giving Full Sail your phone number. I inquired for more info on a program I was interested in. After doing some research I changed my mind but Full Sail will not stop calling me. I have told them I'm no longer interested but I get phone calls from them trying to get me to apply almost daily. I have blocked the number numerous times and they just start calling me on a different phone number. I can't speak to what it's like to actually attend this school but based on this scummy, red flag behavior I'm glad I decided not to. They are worse than scammers with these phone calls.

From Google Reviews:
This is a Scam! I was a Course Director (professor leading a staff) for over 2 years and I was horrified at what I was forced to teach and be a member of. What I observed was that Full Sail is nothing more than a scam to take student loan money. And after a destructive 18 month intensive education, your child will leave with 100 grand in debt, a sleeping disorder, some kind of addiction, only to find themselves into dying (movies) or a dead (music) industries. With mandatory classes at 2am, they pack over 100 students into a single class, at times with less than a month to learn a single class. The staff range from incompetent to sadistic. Punishing students with cruel satisfaction as they enforce severe punishments for the most minor of grievances. Which is reinforced by Full Sail's military academy-like rules. But this university's sickest practice is that the top employer of Full Sail Students is Full Sail itself. And that's why it's a pyramid scheme. And yes, there has been a class action lawsuit against this school by its students.

My experience with Full Sail University was disappointing, to say the least. While the campus, its courses, degree programs, alumni, and rankings look impressive and promising at first glance, the quality of education and support left much to be desired.

The absence of qualified instructors is obvious. Many I had were unprofessional, disengaged, and lacking of passion or knowledge for the topics they were supposed to teach, was one of the major problems I encountered. Numerous instructors lacked teaching experience, and it was clear from the way they approached teaching. The quality of the education that students receive is directly tied to the quality of the instructors. Maybe that’s why they aren't referred to as professors.

Another disappointment was the housing department. They didn’t do much to help students find adequate housing, resolve housing issues, and the options they suggested were poor and often managed by unprofessional staff. Living conditions at properties listed in the housing guide were frequently subpar, and priced well above what students and parents can realistically afford. It was difficult to concentrate on studying because of things like mold, pests, violence, and noisy roommates.

I felt similar disappointments in the career development department. They claimed to help students find jobs and networking opportunities to secure jobs, but their efforts were at best minimal for certain degree programs. While they provide mock interviews, they didn’t provide relevant counseling or actual development. One of the career development managers even said I should just take any job, even if it's not in my degree field or relevant to entertainment. Career development is an important aspect of any university experience, and students should receive support and guidance throughout their time at school, not during the last two months of school.

Also, several staff members, particularly instructors, the department chair of the music business program, and the director of student development, participated in discriminatory, unethical, and dishonest acts. I was the target of and witnessed their actions towards others. It was meaningless to file a complaint because the staff is corrupt and will protect their own before the students. There was no doubt that some degree programs received preferential treatment over others, giving students an unfair advantage and lack of opportunities.

And last, Full Sail University’s tuition was insanely expensive. It’s difficult to justify the excessive expenses associated with attending this “university” in light of the inadequate curriculum, unqualified instructors, subpar living circumstances suggested by the housing department, mediocre career support, and power hungry staff. They don’t support your dream as they claim; they sell a fantasy that isn’t worth buying. Overall, I wouldn’t encourage anyone searching for a distinguished and respectful educational experience to attend Full Sail University. There are several better options available, and students should get a substantial education in exchange for their time, money, health, and social life.

Students robbed in broad daylight at Full Sail University

To my previous post, this is a case where even California is much better in these circumstances than Florida. I've never heard of epidemics of robberies occurring on the grounds of CalArts. Otis. ArtCenter. California College Of The Arts. Fullerton College. USC.

She really likes to fetishize her sexuality doesn't she...

Ignoring the retard tranny shit (Oney is based, true or not), Smiling Friends is barely alike to Rick and Morty. They're built on completely disparate foundations. R&M is a show where everyone is fucking miserable and an awful person and hates themselves and that's the entire premise. The sci-fi shit is a backdrop to shoe-gazing faggotry.

Smiling Friends is a show where the main characters work for a company who make people happy and are themselves happy. They have their own personal problems but they're people who have chosen to make people happy for a living. The premise is positivity rather than negativity and that's what makes it a thousand times more novel than every other piece of shit make in the last 10 years where everyone is sad and gay.
Smiling Friends is, on paper, the next show in the so far winning Rick and Morty formula.

You take a known internet creator, filter them through a co-creator who knows their way around running a show like this, and you get a hit show.

The big difference in the creative process here, though, is that Zach and Micheal are actually friends. Dan and Justin were acquaintances at best, leading to the ridiculous situation of Dan deciding to basically throw Justin out of the writer’s room in S3 to fill it with women and make it shit.

Smiling Friends, on the other hand, is the product of an insular group of friends who’ve known each other for many years. It’s way harder for a bad actor to corrupt unless it is actual executive meddling, which considering how much more public the team is compared to, say, the R&M one, is way, way harder to do.

It isn’t even like a World Peace situation where an already controversial show can be trashed because another network star wanted it gone, this is by far their biggest hit since R&M and they know it.

On top of the premise differences, Smiling Friends will still be looked on greatly ten years from now as it will either stay peak or end when one of the creators is done with it, instead of slowly being made shit by terrible women writers who don’t think the show is subtle enough about how much the audience is intended to hate Rick and need to shove some boring self-insert monologues in a few more times to make sure that everyone gets that.

The problem with the Rick and Morty writers isn't that they're women, it's that they're fearful fake-feminist women who want to use the language of hardworking women to make excuses for themselves. They're just female versions of the pathetic single men who like R&M too much. It's a really good show but Harmon seems to keep hiring people who hate it, to write it.

She really likes to fetishize her sexuality doesn't she...
It did make me wonder for a second that if she comes from a dyke bloodline, how the hell she was born in the first place... Until she talked about a specific ancestor. Also, I'm pretty sure spinster houses were just some sisterhood sorority kinda thing, which she is thinking as a dyke Barbie house of some sorts, but I'm too lazy to research this.

It’s just sounds like she’s describing a Christian convent, tbh.

People like her remind me of the Fifth Element where Leelou, or whatever her name is, has all the knowledge of the internet Encyclopedia Britannica on CD-ROM blasted into her brain, yet still behaves like a child and makes some pretty stupid choices and says dumb things because she is incredibly inexperienced.
I'm sure this dumb bitch has heard of and seen nuns, but all that sunk in was the iconography. She has no fucking clue what they are or their significance and that what she's amazed by is essentially the same thing. She will also never accept or understand the problems with this way of life and that the only reason it's not widely popular isn't because of oppression.

DIdn't he get exposed for harassing an artists until said person committed suicide.
No. That person was Vee (I can’t remember her real name), she drew pornography of the boys from cartoons like Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends and Ballmasterz getting molested by adult women and posted on sites for other drawn child pornography. He, like most people, were grossed out by it and when the show she was working on (maybe Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss, I don’t remember) found out they dropped her. She screeched that it’s unfair because she’s mentally ill and it’s how she works out her trauma but no one cared. There was no harassment or even call out beside no one wanting to hire her or associate with her and then she started claiming vague health problems and that she was going to end treatment and die. Most likely she’s just bsing and wanted to disappear but who knows.

Not even a little bit surprised she’s still alive, I am surprised that she’s gone full shroomhead, films interpretive dances while possessed by aliens and is now in a relationship with an alien shota.

So, like, is anybody someday going to make their own media house that does cool things with the commitment to be as apolitical as possible and just focus on being entertaining? Seems like the field is wiiiiiide open without much competition. I know starting something from the ground up is hard, especially when so much space is taken up by old, large companies. But I just feel like there is a need for easily consumable media that isn't trying to pick a fight with The Bad Guys
Every time this sort of topic comes up I say I'd be happy to join if someone else starts it but can't be fucked to start anything myself. I expect a lot of other people are the same way.
