I looked at a source and it says Demming did deploy to Iraq and Afghanistan.

And in his Linkedin it says that he did 27 years in the Navy. It would seem pretty weird he never had a deployment after all that time. Could journos be wrong in this case?

I could be wrong. But saying that Jocko shouldn't have made his men operate in the day, when the SEALs job was to support other units who were operating in the day, and saying that Jocko should have gone into combat more when he was a task unit commander in charge of managing multiple platoons, sound like someone with no combat experience.
I've played Medal of Honor Warfighter and watched all the promo videos. Nothing in there reveals secret tactics. Nothing you can't find in basic training manuals. Several CAG operators also worked on the game FWIW.
So he had 14 years in by the time 9/11 happened. He would have been in a desk job already especially in the regular teams.

That's not the first time some variant of get rejected by woman and shitshow ensues has happened, I'm sure. Friend of mine's dad was in nam and claimed that a dude fragged his butterbars over a woman (Almost nothing of value was lost).
I knew a feller who was in the 75th and he got out after they lowered standards to let women pass since he was in a mixed-gender unit before. He always told his kids and younger folks not to join.
This reminds me of the set of old /k/stories of about a "badass female 2nd Lt" crying due to a night ambush so someone had to keep her from running away and getting Talibaned. Also the two medic stories.

And the operator has no idea what's going on in Ukraine. He's teaching, I assume, people who are going to the International Legion or something. But man in Ukraine, the only CQB you are doing is with frags, or more commonly now throwing an FPV drone-bomb into a room, or leveling the house with arty. Slicing the pie is dead for LSCO. They'd be better off training on how to dig a trench, or maybe sniper training. It's not classified knowledge. You just have to watch some YouTube vids uploaded of combat footage.

Cole, described in court papers as “Journalist A,” worked until earlier this year as a producer for ABC News’s investigative unit, but the alleged leaks to him took place before he joined ABC.
Esposito, described in court papers as “Journalist C,” is the senior investigative reporter for ABC’s I-team, headed up by Brian Ross. A complaint filed in the case earlier this year indicates that Esposito and Kiriakou “collaborated on a preliminary book proposal” and in the course of that effort Kiriakou “apparently” gave Esposito classified information.
Cole’s alleged role is closer to the core of the case against Kiriakou and also raises questions about whether Cole, whose website indicates he was working on a book at the time, was straddling the line between traditional journalism and information gathering for lawyers representing Guantanamo detainees.
The indictment says Kiriakou gave Cole the last name of a CIA officer after Cole presented Kiriakou with a first name and other information. “Approximately two hours after” Kiriakou emailed Cole the last name, Cole sent it to a defense investigator working with attorneys for terror suspects held at Guantanamo, the complaint filed in the case says. “My guy came through with his memory,” Cole wrote to the defense investigator later that day, according to the complaint.
Public court papers don’t offer much in the way of context for Cole’s interaction with the defense investigator, who was not named.
Cole did not respond to several Twitter messages seeking comment for this story, but in late February he used one of his Twitter accounts to unleash a barrage of harsh criticism of the Obama administration over a series of prosecutions of individuals accused of leaking classified information to journalists.
“How can journalists protect their communications with sources leaking details to how (sic) the US government accountable? #stopthesuppression” Cole wrote in one message. Other of his Tweets included hashtags such as “#Obamaonlylikesleaksthatmakehimlookdecisiveorheroic” and “#Obamaswaragainstjournalists.”

The best studio IMO is Shawn Ryan's. But the only thing that bothers me about it is that while yes, having all those colored liquor bottles looks cool, visually, in the background, it's kind of tone-deaf to have such a studio where a lot of the interviewed struggle with alcoholism.

Unsurprisingly, you missed his point.
The point was that Jocko had operators misbehaving on ops and battlespace owners complaining and if he's not going out on ops he would have no way of verifying the complaints.
If they were doing heinous shit and lying about it, it's no excuse. He doesn't get to claim ignorance due to not going on operations.
As a commander you have ultimate responsibility for what goes on. Full stop.
