There was a bit where Daph was collabing with some folks from Niji and later did a drawing collab with Magni from holostarsEN, a couple days after her collab with Magni she just had a bit on stream complaining that fans of both companies were giving her shit for her past statements and that it wasn't worth the headache to collab with the two major corpos as a result.

that's more or less the gist of it but if you really want to subject yourself to an extended retelling from her here's this clip.

That's what I'm saying. If there is no problem to collab with old genmates or good friends (Calli is another example) but not if they have a certain stigma despite being friends in their past life (See Shondo) it will not happen.

yes plus fallen shadow is constantly cancelled or making off color jokes its gay that holo has to care but they do also is miori celest any good I know she can sing but all I've seen besides that is coomerbait

And we've historically seen that that can affect whether or not collabs happen. Remember early on when Veibae and Kiara were going to collab? And at least from a more buttoned up corpo viewpoint, Vei is/was pretty tame compared to the shit people will start throwing at Pippa.

And honestly I'd bet that Pippa and Calli both just would in general rather not deal with bullshit and just be cordial with one another behind the scenes.

The only reason Pippa doesn't do collabs with holos is because she admires them too much, and doesn't want to meet her heroes.
If she actually wanted to, there's a few holos that would agree.
I think you overestimate hololive's managers way too much. It's mostly the talent's choice, with the manager having a veto, in very bad cases. And talents can push through collabs, if there's enough of them that want it (Just look at the niji collabs).

Pippa said herself that she was worried about getting hate and blowback for even redirecting her stream to Mori's If you think she isn't aware of and wary of a potential shitshow from tribalfaggots and antis than you aren't paying very much attention because even I'm aware of her saying stuff like this without even really following her. "I'm gonna get so much hate for this and have to stay off twitter" isn't a "don't meet your heroes" mindset. By all accounts she seems to be actually overly cautious and worrysome about complications like that. Which even if she's overdoing it, comes from a level of self awareness about potential pitfalls like that.

Niji collabs like how it took Kiara literal years to finally get the OK to collab with Pomu, when Pomu has/had like zero baggage surrounding her other than just being from Niji (which at that time wasn't demonized in the vtuber community as a black company)

If it took years for that to happen with minimal outside baggage, I'm not anywhere near as inclined to just be like "ah yeah Pippa collab could just happen any time if she wanted" When there's significantly more baggage attached to the yabbit. Like you would assuredly end up with more people bitching about her collabing with holo than there were about Veibae back in the day and management shut down the Vei collab with Kiara after fan backlash.

I'm not even saying any of this is good or valid just that the general state of things seems pretty apparant if you look at public opinion and past actions. (though I do struggle to even think of how a collab with her would go when she would just have to self censor her brain worms to the point of barely acting like herself in order to get by on a holo stream)

That has nothing to do with Hololive itself, however. That's Pippa being (possibly rightfully) paranoid. That doesn't mean that Hololive would veto a collab if she actually asked for one. Mori would probably be down for a collab either way, because she already has a ton of haters regardless, and doesn't give a shit about antis. If Pippa refuses to collab because of potential blowback, that's on Pippa, and has nothing to do with Hololive's willingness or not to collab with her.

feels a little bit like arguing semantics and just saying that my overall point was right in another direction. I was making the point that was to refute this statement "The only reason Pippa doesn't do collabs with holos is because she admires them too much, and doesn't want to meet her heroes." not to assign that blame to one party or another just to point out that the potential shit show is obviously a factor.

As to hololive vetoing it The only thing I was pointing to was that they clearly vetoed the Veibae collab back in the day that was a whole lot less controversial than Pippa in the vtubing sphere.

Also I'd be less and less certain of the notion that Mori will just do anything because "she already has a ton of haters" as time goes on and she starts to do bigger and bigger projects. Even Mori has a habit of dipping to avoid having to listen to noise and backlash, she basically ran away from the internet after her One Piece news dropped because of it and even leading up to the Suicide squad news was talking about how she was having to force herself not to run and hide. She's been more and more just keeping her head down and focusing on her own shit rather than drawing fire and courting controversy.
