I don't know what she wants revenge for, though. Like, most of the issues she complains about are either non-existent (u cant hav boy hobbies if ur a girl!) or unreasonably whiny (I demand a special bathroom, but also I don't, because that implies I'm not a girl!). Meanwhile, she ignores all the major issues facing trans people, because they mostly affect the poor and non-white.
To understand Sophie, you need to go back into the 1600 when our french ancestors and our British Overlords colonized what was then called "Nouvelle France".
When the ships arrived, the indians cured that scurvy that affected the europeans, caused by a lack of Vitamin C during long boat trips. The newly refreshed white then proceeded to rape the women as a way to vent that extra energy, creating the race this is currently known as "The Metis", which is legally, in Canada, recognized as part of a First Nation, a racial minority, that was wronged by the government and thus if living on reserves do not pay taxes and have a multitude of advantages if leaving them, just like a couple other indians tribes, such as the inuits up north, Kanesatake, Oka... Sophie's grandmother is Metis, that said, Sophie is not really.
Anyway, the thing is, Sophie is, for some reason, believes in some kind of alternate history in which transgender have essentially suffered the same fate as the indians first nation.
The "two common genders" can be replaced by "The British & the French", and the "special genders" can be the indians.
All in all, she believes that trans people always existed (most likely true) but that society's repressive (Quebec was very Christian until recently-ish, with Internet spreading atheism) forced them to hide and suffer, and she sees that as a slight.
This is what she wants revenge for.
It's similar to US slavery in some ways. Most people agree that they were not the one who had slaves, that their ancestors were ignorant morons for having slaves (if they even did have some), and now everyone respects each other because really, none of you wanted this to happen.
