General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I find that those whose work requires a lot of online stuff will be sucked into what's trendy regardless of if they want to or not.
Most if not all the slang Bae, Calli, Nerissa, and Bijou use originate from Black Twitter and it's from decades ago.

The usage pops up so much for a time then makes it into the mainstream once other groups start using it then it becomes a part of an American dictionary.

It's very annoying actually.

With Calli I get similar vibes to how I did with Coco who also had a pretty dated vocabulary of slang.

Which is that I think that they lost touch with new slang once they moved to Japan and started spending so much of their time around non-English speakers. To an extent I think this is also the reason why IRyS has so many weird gaps in her English as well. I bet we'll start seeing it happen with Bae now too although it's harder to track with her because she's full blown zoomer brain as well.

All I'm saying is that I wouldn't go on watching a person if found out they were a sexpest or if I can't go a single stream without hearing about their fetishes. Therefore the stream is less entertaining (for me) its literally just having a moral standard. I also wouldn't watch someone if they hated their fanbase if you would that's your problem. Now pls continue complaining about my grammar on kiwifarms
Your good morals won't allow you to watch a pervert streamer only doing it for money, but it will allow you to use various websites filled with perverted/degenerate content and "hate"-filled discussions mocking lolcows along with gossip about IRL details? Really? That's where you draw the line? You are truly a virtuous person following a strict code of conduct.

Cause I don't find them entertaining whereas I do find this entertaining, plus I use it for news. The kiwifarms isn't really that degenerate at least in my experience and I like Josh so why wouldn't I use it. What do you mean various websites?

Harmful Opinions had one of the best takes on this type of content, although he was directing his attention on the e-thott scene.

You just have to imagine yourself in a theater full of other people in chat and consider whether or not you'd feel comfortable sitting next to a vtuber fan or if they would feel comfortable sitting next to you.

If a vtuber is showing you her animated feet, realize you're looking at said feet while (virtually) sitting amidst an audience of adults and teenagers.

Yeah, kinda makes you feel a bit more self aware, huh?

Karen talks like a lot of Texas hoodrats do, so it's somewhat authentic but still jarring.

I cringe a little whenever they go into their tangents

Yes, I feel comfortable sitting next to my fellow viewer as a drunken Uruka tries (fails) to vomit into a bucket and ends up spraying her keyboard.
