Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

The regular Russians were very obviously the Putinists.
Yes. Which makes Rambo 3 style revisionism with COD 4 even funnier. It’s probably the last openly anti-communist triple AAA game.

The regular Russians were very obviously the Putinists. "Are these the good guys?" "Well, they're not the ones shooting at us." That was pretty much the US attitude toward Russia in 2007.
I don't get it. I thought that line meant that if the Russians did not spot SAS, they would not engage in conflict.

I decided to try MW3 23 during the free trial weekend now that every codtuber is saying "it's good now" and praising wokehammer. At best it's okay I guess, but I don't see myself really investing any more time and realistically I don't see myself ever buying it.

What are you talking about, every OG Codtuber is still shitting on it, even if covering it means it's their job. You must be looking at quite literal paid shills aka nu-Codtubers.

Hardest CoD achievement/trophy ever? Besides the Zombie easter eggs and completing CoD on Veteran? Let me get back to you on that.

Also, the recent update to MWIII sometime yesterday basically made the game even more unplayable than it already was; people are reporting that Multiplayer is constantly lagging and stuttering to the point where you can barely play, if at all. Meanwhile, other modes such as Zombies are completely impossible to play, since the servers seem to be down, and it also seems to be resetting everyone's progress. Hell, the only thing that works fine at this point is apparently Warzone... but given the questionable things I've heard about weapon balance - people seem to be obsessed with the Renetti for some reason - I think the whole game is officially broken.

I've uninstalled everything except the bare bones multiplayer at this point, but I think I'm just going to uninstall the whole thing. I haven't played since the first week of season 2, and apparently all the friends I had who were bitching I never played have now abandoned it for Minecraft *rolls eyes*

So COD just banned half the userbase over an oopsie with their kernel level spyware they call "anti-cheat"
MW6 permabans.jpg
This isn't even the first time that happened, there was a pretty big wave of random bannings of zombies players in Cold War, most of which were never unbanned. I guarantee you Activision won't unban most of these people now either, I'm already seeing paypigs who spend as much as 3000$ on MTX crying about it.
So, uh, who is actually excited for the next COD game here?
Call of duty jumped the shark again, now there is an $80 cosmetic fist in the game. You have to buy 4 $20 bundles to get it and you can't even put camos on the metal part of the fist.
Best part is that this is literally just a Fallout power fist. Not even the real deal, COD seems to be doing nothing but crossovers these days as the devs themselves are creatively bankrupt, but they're so broke they couldn't even get a Fallout event(which would make sense now, as they just released a TV show).
Oh, and people are actually buying this, it's not like this is just a meme, you WILL see those in the lobbies.
At this point I am 100% convinced that the only people who still play this game are massive paypigs, literal retards or little kids who have no respect for money. I am also going to count extremely casual players who buy it every year and play it like 17 times total over a course of the year, they're no better than the whales.
Most of the actual fans have been bled out by now, even the OG content creators aren't defending this shit anymore. You only have the new generation of "content creators" and soulless corporate dick suckers who don't even pretend they're not on the company's payroll trying(and failing) to hype up the game, meanwhile someone like Jev who still covers COD gets more views when he does anything other than COD.
Activision has been doing this forever, I still remember how they sucked Tony Hawk and Rock Band/Guitar Hero games dry, completely killing these IPs. COD is no different, but boy is it taking long for this turd to finally circle the drain, since it used to actually be a big, respected brand at one point. Killing it is going to take time, but I think these are the first signs that there is truly no turning back, to all but the most deluded fanboys anyways.

So apparently there is now even a $100 weapons skin for CoD. It's a gold version of the cheetah camo that you unlock for buying $100 worth of shit on the CoD merch store.

I have to agree unfortunately.

I am having a very peculiar image in my head right, looking at the 80$ Fallout Power Fist and the 100$ COD WW2 camo from 2017 fiasco:
Imagine a slaughter house with pigs. There is a whole process in getting these suckers killed, but for the most part, they're just being pushed down a corridor or on an escalator or what have you, they're moving along the line onto their inevitable deaths. All the way there, they couldn't care less, not a single one of them actually knows where they're going or why they're even going there. At the end of the journey, there is a hole where the pigs never come back from, and it's once they enter that hole that they start getting scared and uncomfortable...but by then it's too late, they're undoubtedly in restrains by that point anyways so there is no escape. They can squeal all they want, but their fate is sealed.
This is the only thing that comes to mind looking into this. We've had people talking about this for years, we knew it would eventually happen, but those still on Activision's wild ride were either delusional or too optimistic and thought this would never happen. Well, here we are, two COSMETIC items 180$ total, and that's outside 70$ for the game and the 30$ Blackcell pass, and god knows what else you would purchase. The piggy in our example is being held tight in it's restrains, it starts looking around and the squealing starts...but it's getting pushed down that hole no matter what it does. It's only going to get much, much worse, but not for us, only for people who still play this shitty games. Remember, when the real screams begin, assuming they aren't coming from a soundproof room, the other pigs still in the assembly line won't care. "It's not me, it won't effect me" would be the closest thing to a cohesive thought they would have. None of them still on the assembly line have the intelligence to deduce patterns, and so each is on their way to have their wallets absolutely bled to death by the evil butcher by the name of Activision none the wiser.

If it wouldn't be so funny, and these people so fucking stupid, it would almost be tragic. I hope every single paypig is bled dry, and I mean completely dry by the most jewy, ridiculous and inhuman megatransactions known to mankind, and they cry about it afterwards when they go into debt over COD skins for a game that only has mere months to live and is infested with hackers anyways.

I would've thought the line in the sand was with Activision releasing Infinite Warfare WITH a season pass, microtransactions AND a Modern Warfare remaster that required a deluxe edition. Oh, and releasing DLC FOR the chained remaster.

Now, Ubisoft has standardized the practice of having a season pass AND microtransactions in their games.

So apparently there is now even a $100 weapons skin for CoD. It's a gold version of the cheetah camo that you unlock for buying $100 worth of shit on the CoD merch store.

Yep. Imagine spending $70 on a game, then spending $100 to get a skin.

How do codfags exclaim modern warfare 2019 is bad? I never understand it the game literally brought cod back on top.

Mw3 is a massive over correction imo it’s not horrible but the changes were too extreme to appeal to idiots.

You have to understand the situation before the release of the game: Every COD before it(Infinite Warfare, WW2, Black Ops 4) was a flop in some sense. MW2019 was not only going back to it's roots, the game was actually comparable to the oldschool MW titles in quality as well. Hell, they even removed the loot crates that plagued these titles...only to replace them with 24$ "micro" transactions, yeah that started here.
Oh well, at least the Multiplayer was nice and fresh...when it wasn't making you sweat, since this is when the SBMM as we know it today was activated, it was much more visible in future games however.

Anyways, that was the hype, the reason some people hate MW2019, aside from the ones listed above, is because it was slower and more methodical. That's it, they didn't like that they took away 3 lane maps and had players taking buildings and waiting behind doors, because everything has to be chaotic ADHD riddled sliding and bunnyhopping fest like Nuketown or Shipment. If someone hates MW2019 it's either because they sucked at it(ie can only play COD one way and cry when the game changes it's meta) or because it introduced us to the cancer that is modern day COD. That includes Warzone BTW, I know I dropped out once that became a thing because I knew it would consume not just the entire game but the IP as a whole.

>Uses communist symbols and restore the Soviet Union by force
>Multiple lines that condemn capitalism
>Destroyed liberalized post-Cold War Russian Federation
>Allied with middle eastern communists
>Ultra nationalist were totally right wing guys just like Putin Russia
The Ukraine War caused so many brain rot among Britbongs.
Are you talking about a certain part in the video or is this a general attitude you've seen? Because the video was uploaded 10 month's before the War in Ukraine started

Say what you want about Vanguard, but the pacing mechanic could've been an interesting direction to go into if delved into deeper. Why not just let people choose what kind of movement/pace they want to play? Might just be a centrist on this but, while I generally prefer faster movement and can't stand having to go on scavenger hunts because half the lobby's camping angles, sometimes I've definitely got mood for a slower, more tactical approach than what MW23 offers. If this can be offered by Combat Master, a sloppy budget clone that rips practically everything off of CoD, why can't the AAA studios actually figure it out themselves? You want something more tactical, you have the modes for it. You've got ADHD, you have the faster mode.
