Reddit cried about the stigmatization of mental healthcare for years, then as soon as it became somewhat mildly accessible/acceptable, they immediately made "go to therapy" simultaneously a dogmatic cure-all and a condescending, patronizing jab for anyone who exhibits any behavior or belief that goes against a rigid doctrine of faggotry. Hell, the field has never been more oversaturated, yet most therapists still are overbooked or have a waiting list just because redditors helped cultivate a culture where people think they NEED therapy for issues that are perfectly solvable through other means and methods.

I firmly believe that "therapy" is the medical version of "pod-life" and "eat the bugs" - it comes off more as a threat, especially if it's from someone supposedly looking out for you.

I just assumed karma farming. askreddit is basically a bot account laundering sub, where karma is generated to make accounts look legitimate so they can be used to spam political messaging across the rest of the site.

It's not just you. Atheism is fundamental to Redditors and the algo will find a way to expose you to it, even if you try to block it. I can't say for sure but I'm confident that there are at least a dozen major subs dedicated to atheism. One example I see being pushed constantly is a sub about escaping church. It's just faggots complaining about religious brainwashing in a very smug and overly sensitive manner. Reddit absolutely shoves this shit down your throat and will find a way to insert it into whatever you're interested in.

The subreddits dedicated to being an Ex-[Religion here] are all amazing to lurk in. Every single post will just be the same r/Atheism seething about having to go to church and being expected to have good values, with a dash of exaggeration. The only possible exceptions are when you get ex-Mormons talking about how culty it is, but I refuse to believe most Mormons practice half the shit their church advocates. Not trying to defend those weirdos in any way, but at lost of posts for any of these types of subreddits just comes off as very particular seethe with the occasional karmawhoring when some literal who preacher gets exposed as a sex pest.
