I firmly believe that "therapy" is the medical version of "pod-life" and "eat the bugs" - it comes off more as a threat, especially if it's from someone supposedly looking out for you.Reddit cried about the stigmatization of mental healthcare for years, then as soon as it became somewhat mildly accessible/acceptable, they immediately made "go to therapy" simultaneously a dogmatic cure-all and a condescending, patronizing jab for anyone who exhibits any behavior or belief that goes against a rigid doctrine of faggotry. Hell, the field has never been more oversaturated, yet most therapists still are overbooked or have a waiting list just because redditors helped cultivate a culture where people think they NEED therapy for issues that are perfectly solvable through other means and methods.
