David Steel / LazerPig / Ricewynd / Malquistion - Pathological Liar, Reddit Historian, Femboy Thirster, and Vore Connoisseur

His sources are just online websites. Websites that he fails to interpret correctly and which RE used against him. He had one US-UK document on the German Sla-16, but that again was used against Lazerpig by RE to disprove him.
Forums themselves are also very unreliable sources since they are very loose and goose.

It almost felt like character growth. Almost. I guess getting dunked on for months can even get a Pig to admit going full tard rage in a military history debate doesn't do him any favors.
Indeed, shame he still thinks he's right even as other more qualified people called him out.

Discouraged, sure. But does it happen? Fuck yes.
U.S. Army lost an Abrams and tcrew during training in the very early 1980ies because an ejected base cap hit the round that was being hot lapped. Uncle Sam have been justifiably paranoid precisely because of that and other accidents that happened during training.

@Falcos_Commisar
The best part is the British Army was forced to accept the Challenger 1 because the company making it was about to go bankrupt after the Shah of Iran was deposed and the Challenger 1s initial customer vanished

Instead the Army really wanted the MBT-80, a clean sheet design.

Too bad they got stuck with what was essentially a deep upgrade of a fucking Chieftain.
It is a lot more nuance than that, as the Challenger I was already in active production when the Shah was overthrown The MBT-80 was at the time overbudget and more importantly not in production or any assembly line(s) set up for it. Perfect or in this case better is the enemy of good enough. Moreso to the Brit bean counters holding the pursestrings. Then there's the fucky-wucky with the Germans also being involved in the MBT-80 before that partnership also fell apart over differences of opinion.

This is almost as funny as Naomi Wolf learning what "death recorded" means, live on air:

Holy God how could you shoe your face in public after a live historical beat down like that.

Oh AND she was going to bat for a pederast.... Lol

Perfidious Germany STRIKES AGAIN with another tank fuck up. Makes me laugh when I hear about the new "Europanzer" oh I mean FMBT better Germany and France.

Too bad the Brits didn't just induct that Challenger 1 and then still go ahead with the MBT-80.

I did some more looking and the Germans were involved in an earlier related armor project, but not the MBT-80.

Overbudget, years late and no final design much less one ready for production, one can sympathized with the bean counters at the time for picking the Challenger I. Needed to had have foresight of just a few years to realize the Challenger I was a rolling turd that it is.

More MBT-80 information here and damn what a convoluted mess the brits made of their tank program.

Supposedly, his sources are Russian Military forums. Granted, I don't speak Russian nor browse Russian forums so I don't know.
Some of his sources are Topwar.ru which are sometimes just written by literal whos saying shit (a lot of them are sourced and have decent information though). Which is funny when you think about him calling all Russian sources disinfo.

The British army actually wanted the Leclerc over the Challenger 2 as well, but were told "No" because of "Job creation, and strategic independence" from the C2, as well as it being cheaper.

Now that British Leclerc would have been fascinating.

Remember, the Leclerc, due to Budget cuts post 1991, wasn't technically fully kitted out until 2002 or so.

The first ~100 tanks made were turned into target hulks, spare parts mules, or recovery vehicles because it would have cost too much to get them to Series 2 or Series 21 standard.

This might as well be the main reason anyone ever adopts bad designs. The project is simply too important politicially to be given the merciful shot to the back of the neck.

And honestly sometimes its a good idea to make bad things, the retaining of institutional knowledge and capability of vital strategic industries is vital for national defense. The US used to do training contracts, buying stuff they didn't need just to maintain capability.

At least David has the ability to realize Star Wars is shit under Disney, unlike his American cousin.

Swine has apparently revealed that the AK video was actually about the STG-44 being bad and not the AK and has decided that it's "too much work" probably because he's rightfully afraid of upsetting the (much larger) gun autist community.

The STG-44 has it's flaws but I wouldn't exactly call it "comedically bad". Then again, LP and his merry gang will call anything not British/American garbage.

I'd especially say any of it's flaws can be excused by a mix of strained wartime production, metal stamping being new, and fielding a new ammo type, you can call it shit, but it was still a trailblazer.

Right, just because it's one of the first of it's kind doesn't mean it's going to blow people away.

The only flaw that I would really call a deal-breaker is having a metal handguard that inevitably would get very hot during a proper fight. Otherwise, it does just suffer from all the typical late WW2 problems of German gear.

IT seems like He's only calling the STG-44 bad because "Wehraboos" say its god tier, I'm willing to bet it would be a video nearly exactly like the T-14 but replace "Vatnik" with "Nazi". Truly Anti-Wehrabooism has been a disaster for online history discussion.

It had issues with the receiver, notably it was prone to bending, and prone to stoppages when firing on full auto, but that's just a build quality issue, the general design was very sound, which is probably why swine is holding off on making anything about it, what can you really say beyond "it was a revolutionary design, but basically functional, with manufacturing flaws" hard to go on a "BARELY CONTAINING MY RAGE, BUT ALSO BEING INCREDIBLY SMUG ABOUT WHY THE STG-44 WAS AWFUL AND WEHRABOOS ARE NAZIS!!!", might as well just cut out the middle man and make a video about ZoomerHistorian.

Well I mean.. it blew plenty of people away.
Literally

ZoomerHistorian is really an odd ball, isn't he?

Ain't that the truth?
