Dead video game series/franchises you refuse to let go

Started talking about Zone of the Enders over in the Armored Core thread... ... ... made me realize how the rumored ZoE3 is never going to be a thing. Konami and Kojima went their separate ways, and I imagine whatever early work was made, was put in the freezer if not completely lost. Which blows because what they managed to do on PS2 hardware was amazing.

Zone of the Enders
I bought the 360 port of that just to replay it when it launched and still pop it in every two years or so just to relive the transformation from weird but decent first game to an absolutely amazing second.

Wasn't the whole point of the port to have the MGR demo and to get people to play it before the third, who dropped a trailer around its release?

I'd say Duke Nukem, mainly because I used to play the platformers and Duke Nukem 3D back in the day (and still do).
Duke Nukem Forever sucks ass though.
You can thank Randy Pitchfork for that, evil prick ruined my good name.

I miss the era of RTS games and I played the hell out of a good number of them. Command and Conquer was my shit back in the day. Thankfully good mods like Mental Omega, CnC Reloaded, and New War (WIP but looks interesting) are out there. Twisted Insurrection is awesome too, and features some of Frank Klepacki's later music that he personally pushed forward for this and other mods.

I'm honestly surprised one hasn't come out for Switch
There's a lot of series I think the same thing about. Switch is probably the best Nintendo console for visual novels since the DS, and yet there's no ports of Hotel Dusk/Last Window and the Another Code games.

Patapon, loved that game with all my heart. The second game was the first PSP game I ever played and I swear to God I played that game for a decade now. Shame my old PSP died and the storage wasn't recoverable. Hellgate: London was also cool, I hear the original developers are doing something related to it, if not another game in the franchise. Hellgate: Redemption I believe.

It's probably been mentioned by someone, but, TimeSplitters. Most fun I had on a console shooter, really.
I know there were fans working on some sort of remake of the multiplayer, but it just didn't feel the same to me. .. And last I checked, that project is dormant anyhow.

If it were suddenly revisited, I think a pc port of the games would be fine, not a remaster/remake. I've lost trust in all of that. Not entirely sure about a sequel anymore because it would probably have to be watered down a lot to pass in today's standards.

Tenchu, I've noticed a lot of games embracing Japanese settings even games traditionally inspired by western media. In the last couple years we've had bayonetta 3, SMTV, ghostwire, even the new kingdom hearts all taking place in Tokyo or (not)Tokyo so I'm hoping we finally get a proper Ninja game again. It doesn't have to be Tenchu but just give me any ninja game. Where's the ninja games?

I could really go for a new Megaman Starforce game. What was leaked about the canceled 4th game sounded really interesting to me. A more mature Geo, teaming up with Lan Hikari's decendant, both of them being potentially wanted criminals, sounded real interesting. Thanks Capcom.

Man I really loved Nocturne. No not that japanese crap.

Im planning on going over it more in another thread eventually but this game had impeccable atmosphere and story to it. In a lot of ways it was ahead of its time.

The tradictory of the franchise was very weird. It started out as one game, got a sequel/side story where they fight the Blaire witch and then used the same verse for the bloodrayne games.

The plan was always to go back and do more but a combination of the main actor dying and terminal reality closing down sealed it's fate sadly.

(Cancelled sequel)

It's just so dam forgotten. Even more then most other forgotten games. In the modern era that's probably for the best but id be lying if I didn't want to see a remake, bloodrayne tie in or a stab at another spinoff.

Resistance is one that comes to the front of my mind. I'm mostly saying this 'cos I think it would make for a great TV series. It could address, but detail, the Tungska Event, how the Chimera colonised the Earth (around the time the dinosaurs died off for good), and more of the soldiers involved in Project: Abraham stuff.

And, Star Gladiator, as well. As far as I know, they stopped after 2.

Just thought of another one (well, two) whilst browsing here: Turok. Same with Star Gladiator, they made two games, then just stopped. Primal Rage deserves a comeback/revival, too.

Third, then I'll stop: Somehow, I'd like some sort of a follow-up to Clive Barker's Jericho. Perhaps it could be partially a prequel, showing, in detail, how each of the villains ended up in their respective personal Hells.

Yggdra Union was an incredible GBA tactics RPG that got an even better PSP port, and then a sequel that was never translated, and now the entirety of the wider Dept Heaven franchise seems dead and it makes me incredibly sad. It did get put on Steam a while back which rekindled some hope but like... There's not even a fan translation of Blaze Union/Yggdra Unison.
