What I wonder though is, what does it mean to feel "like a person". How can the (in this case, obviously autistic) individual know that they feel something that others do not, or conversely that they lack something that other have? It seems more like the problem is the feeling of disconnection itself is the delusion, it's a maladaptive though process that should be directly interrogated, rather than treated as the the sign to search for a reason why it's occurring.

In fact, given AGP, it seems more like trans ideation helps suppress this though pattern via endorphin release. They mistake the relief and positive feelings they experience from the paraphilia as healing the disconnect, but obviously it doesn't, and functions more like an addiction.
This is a bit late, but this comic and its subsequent re-interpretation as a harbinger of transness feels very important. I think this is such a huge part of the trans phenomenon which isn't captured by the HSTS/AGP binary. Call me a bleeding-heart but I honestly have immense pity for trans people because for every pervert, I believe there's several times more people who are just deeply, deeply sad and grasping at anything to help escape that. I don't buy into the prevalence and relevance of directly sexual grooming as much as others on here. Instead, I see scared, lonely young people being 'groomed' into flattening themselves out until there's no room for their problems. It's a tragedy.

It is hard to find yourself as a person. It shouldn't be easy. We are incredibly complex social beings and finding our identities and roles in connection to other people is both difficult and beautiful. The internet and our constant observation by others doesn't make this easier. I think that many trans people come to their conclusions because it allows them to smooth out all of the wrinkles in developing an identity. Instead of grappling with what it means to be yourself, you can just simplify the problem by inhabiting the shoes of someone else. In doing this, many trans people replace the standard of knowing one's self with the standard of knowing someone else. It is very easy to get a functionally full picture of another person, because you only interact with them in limited ways as an external being. It is much, much harder to get a full picture of yourself because you're in your own head. You expect to have full knowledge of yourself because who else would? It's hard to come to terms with the fact that you are not completely known to yourself. One way of resolving that is to replace the need to understand one's incomplete self with a complete but simpler alternative self. I may not know who I am, but if I was 'girl' I have the whole picture.

In a way, it's a bit like religion is for some people. There's so much unknown in the universe and that's frightening. One way to cope is to replace uncertainty with false certainty. Not to be all Reddit atheist, but if you fill in every gap in your understanding with, "i dunno, god's got that figured out," it's just dodging the question. I think that is what being trans is like for a large number of people — replacing true uncertainty with false certainty.

I took dangerous hormones that may give me cancer. Checkmate, transphobes.
Man there are so many angles to come at this from.

First, breast cancer is now an affirmation of womanhood, bad news to all men who have received a breast cancer diagnosis.

Second, his immutable biology is why he has this elevated risk after an environmental change of way too many female hormones. Is a person who gets diabetes (which had a strong genetic component) "changing his biology" when he scarfs chocolate every day?

I've been staring at this photo for 15 minutes trying to figure out the best way to word "girlie this is not the flex you think it is" but all I can come up with is

Lmao fat

It is wild that they see their weight gain as "becoming me!" Instead of the "if I eat constantly I will not feel sad" that it is.

I agree with this, though the WPATH leaks do show a seed of it. But I think a lot of the focus on trans kids, and "cracking eggs" comes from a natural selective pressure when it comes to memes. Focusing attention on children works, it's instantly easier to sympathize with the movement, especially since it meshed so well with general antibullying discourse. People did feel genuinely bad that the effeminate kid or the tomboy got a complex from ostracism. Easy links to homeless youth, especially gay and lesbian ones, easy links to the general and ongoing backlash against religious moralizing in an ever secularizing society. Links to youth suicide and the general epidemic of youth depression. It was all perfect to make centering the narrative around "trans" youth the perfect messaging framework.

There's a path dependence to social movements and controversies that I see so clearly sometimes, but is hard to articulate. if you conceive of trans identities as immutable and originating from birth, if you don't understand them as indicating an underlying condition (like autism) that means their own self reported feelings can't be taken at face value, then all this horror kind of flows naturally from those premises. Whatever butcher it was that first decided that someone like Jazz Jennings shouldn't go through puberty, they had all the rhetorical tools they needed to normalize that idea (with no evidence, and no data on long-term outcomes) present in the zeitgeist already. All that stuff about how trans kids shouldn't go through puberty basically emerged out of thin air, there was never any evidence provided until after the fact, in the form of surveys confirming subjects felt better immediately afterwards. It was just affirming the consensus, it was never actually a critical examination of it, or a search for actual evidence-based medicine.

I know ppl will give me shit for taking it easy on pooners but I just feel sorry for her. She’s obviously very mentally ill and was just given a yeet and hormones to let her further self harm. Sad!

From what I gathered they're moving the goal posts on trans brains.
I don't think they care about brain science. After seeing a number of arguments about trans brains, I've come to the conclusion that they're inconsistent and shift goal posts because they are just throwing out whatever they think sounds good for the argument and makes their cognitive dissonance feel better. There isn't any consistency because it's just whatever is needed for the argument at the time. It all comes down to they feel they are trans and that's good enough for them. They don't need any other evidence. They don't really want society at large to cotton onto that though because then people will shut down the surgeries and support and free shit they get when it comes out it's just a wacky belief system with no evidence and only the word of a bunch of mentally ill people.

Such fine and wholesome looking young troons and pooners! 20 years from now they'll be back, protesting what was done to them. Hopefully. If they're lucky.
I wouldn't be surprised if Don't Ask Don't Tell and Trump banning troons from the military (only for Biden to lift it) contributed to this situation.
There is a traceable LGB + TQ timeline from Clinton to Obama to Biden. Loosening requirements along idpol lines was a no brainer. Making transitioning a generous Gov gib was too. Empire's barracks need to be well stocked with young cannon fodder one way or another. Especially when the usual populations who encourged and allowed their kids to sign up are thinking twice about it now.

The one thing that should alarm all US citizens is that they're making gender identity a permanent, protected class in the USA by fiat alone. Through Executive Orders and internal policy changes. Not by Congress making law and voting on it. And they're pounding it deep into every Gov department where it can't be easily pried out without making a huge, costly mess and causing widespread butthurt. One a Gov gib is given, it's nearly impossible to turn it off.

And every troon and pooner who signs up and gets their transition courtesy of Uncle Sugar makes it all the harder to question (never mind roll back) gender identity as a protected class. They're the poster children who need their lifelong care. And a deal's a deal.

just affirming the consensus
That's a great turn o phrase. Applicable everywhere. No hard evidence. No democratically arrived at laws. Just trust the experts! Just fiat.

Somewhere out there troons are discussing how extremely affirming it is to get opposite sex cancer. Breast cancer euphoria, anyone?
That old school pooner lady bragged of dying of AIDs in the 80's.

Otherwise, I too, had the horrible thought of AGP men jacking off to the idea of getting breast cancer and wearing the pink ribbons and everything. Goodness, talk about islamic content.

Lots of comments. Consensus: It is inadvisable. :lit:
That's what Isaac Newton was thinking before the apple thankfully fell on his head. "CAN POPSICLE GO IN THY HOLE?"

Yeah, that's what that is, I'm sure.

Chad, but with tits.

Az Hakeem has talked about that on Gender: A Wider Lens. He's a psychiatrist who used to run mixed therapy groups with both post-op regretters and pre-op troons which dissuaded the vast majority of the latter from going forward with medical transition.

tldl:
- almost 100% of classic trannies are autistic and have theory of mind issues
- they honestly think if you use their pronouns or even just don't call them out that means you really believe they're women
- the more autistic they are the happier they are transitioning
This is a great clip because it really resonates with my experiences. There's a big push within LGBTQ spaces to "recognise" or "affirm" the "intersection" between being trans and being autistic. Autistic people are seven times more likely to be trans (and trans people are six times more likely to be autistic) and they've started doing Autism Pride Day on June 18th specifically because it's Pride month for that reason:
Autistic_Pride_Flag_-_Pride_is_a_Protest.jpg
The claimed rationale is usually something along the lines that autistic people question social norms more so are more likely to recognise their trans identity over allistic (non-autistic) people who unquestioningly go along with everything because normies are dumb or whatever. But what Dr Hakeem's saying about their own obliviousness based on theory of mind really does match how I've experienced things or how we've seen sideshows act - "I must pass, because people keep calling me she", or "I must pass, because I'm wearing a pronoun pin", and the reality of being clocked or misgendered shocks them because they didn't conceptualise that not everyone saw them as a woman. A lot of semantic based arguments seem to operate on similar lines, and I'm even seeing it with stuff related to the Cass report "well based on the regret rate, you need to pause knee surgery for review!" - no, you don't, because they're not the same.
Come to mention it, autism diagnosis rates have rocketed by something like 700% since the year 2000. A lot of that will be better understanding of autism but if the actual rate of autism is increasing in the population, that might be part of the reason why there's an increase in the number of trans people. (Bit of a two for one - because autistic people can be very literal minded, so if they hear "you are definitely autistic" and then "autistic people are more likely to be trans", they're then more likely to start interrogating if they're trans, independent of ever having felt any gender discomfort).

They are truly fucking insane.
What anyone else would take as a warning sign and indication they had fucked up severely this fucking backbirth takes as a gotcha for the Chuds.
He doesn't just need a mammogram he needs sizing for oversized boots and a big red fucking nose.

The good people at the Ordo Malleus and a fair number at the Ordo Hereticus have suspected an Incursion for years at this point.
The guys at the Ordo Xenos were worried about Genestealers at first, but an examination of the affected shows an inability to change their chromosomes, so with the notable increase in perversion and deviance its pretty much confirmed to be a Slaanesh Cult, although some of them do resemble followers of Nurgle, going by the smell...
