I know that I can; I’ve demonstrated as much. But there’s no real benefit to continuing to do so, and I’m testing a hypothesis that it will annoy the keepers of the shrine far more to just ignore their baitposting.

It’s more complicated than I’m letting in there, my point is just that Beijing was selected as a capital city because of its military-defense benefits, and not because it’s got good access to food, water and natural resources, (like say, Hangzhou) or that it’s centrally located within the empire (Nanjing).

A profoundly clear day in Beijing. We climbed the mountain behind the summer palace to take a look around us. It was steep and weather was hot but the view is pretty special.
