Was the outcome ever really in doubt? Maybe House Republicans could constantly call Biden and Mayorkas for impeachment attempts they know wouldn't succeed just to keep the failures of the administration in the news constantly.
the problem is that even IF the media was calling it down the middle this sort of shit is so inside baseball that the only people who would get what the fuck is going on are the people who already know what's going on

Rs want to push Ds bills, nothing else.
If they wanted, they could have pushed for 3 impeachments on b*den to waste time, with just the same quality of evidence as Trump's impeachments.

Mike Johnson is a gigantic faggot for letting DC talk get to him and bowing to their demands. Im not thrilled with Israel funding but Ukraine is a lost cause at this point. Nothing short of boots on the ground in Ukraine is going to turn that war and I have serious doubts that would even work, every dollar that gets sent won't have an effect besides growing the debt burden.

Maybe they need to make more pallets of money disappear.
I genuinely feel like the US is going to Balkanize within the next 20 years, the absolute insane divide between psychotic shit holes (cities) and suburbs/rural America is getting more and more obvious.
How do you do that when you have red and blue areas so closely connected? Plus there are places in the southern US that are basically an extension of Mexico now.

People struggling with daily food prices and rent but muh hecking sportsball womanrinos are only being paid 2 bajilion dollars instead of 8 like John McSporterson the NBA Superstar!!!
You'll never guess who's the bad guy in this scenario.

Do they attack the WNBA for not playing their players enough, even though they're not allowed to say anything negative about them?
Do they attack the NBA for not donating enough money to keep them above water, even though they're a separate league and have no obligation to support them?
Do they attack the team owners when 7/12 are partially or wholly owned my women, queers, minorities, and an Indian tribe?
Do they attack the sports media networks even though they've been begging people to like women's sports since Jimmy The Greek got fired?

Nope. It's the fans fault, or more accurately, the non-fans. There's almost a statistical guarantee that this includes you, the reader. All these poor minorities are getting oppressed and there's not enough powerful white men around to point the finger at, so they point it at you, the racist, sexist, etc. etc. asshole that refuses to acknowledge the worth of these queens and provide the gibs they deserve.

You're supposed to feel guilty about all this.

Now that college players are allowed to receive sponsorship money, a new pattern is developing. Very high level female athletes are getting multi-million dollar sponsorships while competing for low 6 figure jobs that may only last a few years. I believe this indicates that these player's value is measured in their plight and not their skills as an athlete. You being a "strong and independent woman" is worth 30x more to marketing companies than the skillset you've dedicated your life to perfecting is worth to the body that governs your sport. If you would have skipped going to the gym 6 days a week for 10 years and just got an electrician's apprenticeship, you'd be making the same amount of money, or better, for the rest of your life.

Biden claims his "Uncle Bosie" was shot down over New Guinea and eaten by cannibals...TWICE today

Jesus Christ on the cross. Holy fuck.
The fictional version of events is a much better story then what happened in reality since Biden's uncle most likely died in a plane crash accident.

His habit of embellishing details about the life of himself or his family members has no end. It's worse then it used to be for sure but he has always been a liar that wants to make himself seem more credible or interesting as a person.

its not like the people living in those cities like paying for illegal's hotels. if you're an urbanite, who are are you going to vote for? the gop only pushes for cucks if they bother at all and the dnc runs the election machine. 3rd party? good luck getting on the ballot.

e: look at what the gop did to george santos

Blue areas in red states get the axe, red areas in blue states get the axe. its ugly, its nasty and its barbaric but its how its been done through out all history when this stuff happens.
But I think balkanization would not last long. If civil war is to happen i think the Spanish civil war in the 30's is the most apt comparison. one side will gobble up all the support that the other alienates and eventually reach critical mass and win.

The fox news cries as it strikes you
It’s high time someone in the Republican Party told Marjorie Taylor Greene to turn all that bombastic self-serving showmanship and drama queen energy on Democrats, and stop trying to defeat her own party.

The Georgia Republican, who famously displayed sexually explicit photos of Hunter Biden during a committee hearing and called fellow representative Lauren Boebert a bitch on the House floor, is known for wild antics and equally harebrained conspiracy theories.
Currently, she is threatening to oust Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson. The Louisiana Representative, with a five-vote majority in the House, is attempting to keep his caucus intact as he navigates treacherous issues including funding Ukraine, which has become unpopular with some conservatives, and reauthorizing the controversial Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. He also struggled to pass a funding bill, which required relying on Democrats to get another big spending package over the threshold.

To be sure, not all Republicans approve of spending billions more to arm Ukraine, especially since our own border remains wide open; many in the GOP wanted Johnson to demand border enforcement in exchange for support of Kyiv. Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in the world (which is perhaps why Hunter Biden was so richly employed there) and it not clear that America’s billions sent to fight Vladimir Putin have all been spent towards that end. There is almost certainly inadequate oversight, as I wrote early in the war.

Nonetheless, countering Russia’s power-mad dictator is the right thing to do. Putin’s ambitions will not stop at Ukraine. The next target might well be a NATO ally, which would put U.S. boots on the ground.
Though the war has taken a terrible toll on the valiant people of Ukraine, it has revealed Russia to be vulnerable. If President Biden had allowed an all-out aggressive war against Moscow, we would not be at a seeming stalemate. Because he dithered, Ukraine is now losing ground and urgently needs weapons and ammunition. This can be remedied; we need to provide the funding and push the White House to outline the path to victory.

As to the FISA, Republicans are wary of allowing warrantless surveillance and rightly so. The law has been abused in the past, and is most hated today for having enabled surveillance of Trump campaign by Hillary Clinton’s apparatchiks. Nonetheless, it was not that long ago that the United States came under attack by Islamic terrorists; given the millions who have entered the country illegally since Biden became president, hundreds of whom are on the terror watch list, it is imperative that we up our vigilance against terrorism, not dumb it down.

Our country is facing enormous challenges, many the result of the wrong-headed and dangerous polices of the Biden White House.
If Biden wins four more years in the Oval Office, we will be forced to travel even further down the road towards erratic and unreliable green energy while our bounteous and inexpensive domestic oil and gas resources go to waste.

If Democrats win control of Congress, which Ms. Greene may well facilitate, they will likely push through tax increases that will undermine investment and productivity, thereby depressing wage increases, and open the door to even more wasteful spending. We will see a further erosion of law enforcement, and conceivably millions more people entering the country illegally. Our education system will continue to deteriorate and an entire new generation of inner-city boys and girls will emerge from that system unable to move up our ladder of opportunity.

Democrats will push to empower unions, trampling the rights of those who choose not to join, and may attempt to pack the Supreme Court in order to ramrod through measures like widespread student loan forgiveness and "clean" energy mandates which the court in its wisdom has prevented.
In short, there is much at stake.

Last October, other GOP malcontents ejected Kevin McCarthy from the Speakership of the House. It was not a smart or productive move; several House Republicans have since resigned, disgusted by the rancor and self-aggrandizement of those who threw the chamber into convulsions. As a result, what had been a slim majority is now on life support, making governing that much more difficult.

The ouster of the popular McCarthy also torched the public’s view of the GOP. In May 2023, registered voters were evenly split between approving and disapproving of the Republican Party. Today, there is a 25-point gap, with 61% disapproval and 36% approving. That will not help win elections.
The internal squabbles of the party need to stop. If Marjorie Taylor Greene and others want to oppose aid to Ukraine or the FISA bill, they can vote against it. That’s how democracy works.
TLDR: fox news columnist cries and whines that some republicans wont pass democrat bills

The primary issue with your idea vis-a-vis the house is that Pelosi had control/the ability to control the apparatus involved. Johnson (Who may or may not be a cuck) does not, nor does Gaetz or whoever you might place in Pelosi's shoes. The Republicans simply do not have a strong leader/clique in the house (to my knowledge) who can act in the same way as Pelosi did, and puppet members to their will. The whole exercise doesn't work if you don't actually have the power to go through with it.
Strong disagree here.
People need to stop looking at things in terms of conventional house business and start looiking at things in terms of "does the collateral impact get me something I want".

Right now it takes just one privileged resolution to vacate the chair to bring house business to a halt.
That guarantees at least a day or 2 delay to 100 billion in Ukrainian aid and the REPO act which would further shoot trust in SWIFT in the foot.
There's also a good chance Johnson is vacated.
If he is not, it's because of democrat support, which is a death sentence, because otherwise uninformed boomercons WILL notice that and it will impact his turnout in '24.
If he is, the house is derailed for ages as a power struggle ensues, during which no other business can be brought forward. Another week or 3 without 100 billion in Ukraine aid.

That kind of "wrecking action" only requires a few intelligent people pulling the right levers and taking advantage of normal animosity over a slimly split chamber.

This is why I've been total bitchmode regarding Gaetz and others being harder-line last year.
The "collateral impact" of the above would have been even more stark, and more in favor of anyone anti-Biden.
If they had simply held out, the house wouldn't have HAD a capacity to pass a new CR due to continued internal bickering over who speaker will be, the government would have shut down, the show trials would have stopped, the mass pipeline of illegals being escorted across the border would have stopped, federal interference in texas border control measures would have stopped.

I think that it's more likely that the RINOs would have collaborated with the Democrats to elect either Jeffries, or some "compromise candidate" of some variety. They kept up the charade of the government shutdown for some time, but I feel that at some stage the Uniparty would shrug and let the mask slip rather than let the government be deadlocked semi-permanently. I am not of the opinion that staring them down would actually result in a win.

We're never going to know one way or another though, so there's not much to argue on either side here. Both you and I are reliant on "gut feeling" more than anything else.
