Chris Gore is ok according to Gary on yesterday's Real BBC stream. Gore was feeling off and people noticed that he was slurring his speech over the weekend during the G+G/FNT meetup in Vegas. He went to the Emergency room, and the doctors confirmed that he had a minor stroke. He's recovering and going into rehabilitative therapy. Was reported that he should be able to recover fully.

He is actually paying money to appear in this. ARCA is minor-league racing. To help pay expenses associated with their serious racing, ARCA teams will sell a chance to race in their cars to people like Camelot. The better the car, the more you pay. He probably had to pay the team around $10k (my guess) to race the car.
Camelot is in what can be assumed to be an uncompetitive car. Camelot is also inexperienced and a not very good driver. He failed to qualify for two previous races in this series because he was too slow. He only qualified for this race because it has no qualifying.
The prize money is: $2000 for 1st place, $1000 for 2nd place and $750 for 3rd place.
There are serious racers in ARCA that are there to get experience to go up to NASCAR racing. Maybe about half the drivers in any ARCA race. Then there are people like Camelot who buy their way in for what amounts to an experience LARPing as a racecar driver on a well-known racetrack.

Considering coomalot has a penchant for finishing at bottom quarter, that's not looking good for him.
Maybe Nick Rekieta is right and I don't know my social cues (yeah right
) but I'd be self conscious as hell around my 'team'. I'd be constantly thinking that my 'team' is constantly laughing behind my back for being a retard who pays 5x the final prize of the race just to participate. So which is it, thread? Am I a prude with too much shame or is coomalot just shameless?

I just saw that Kamen America their umpteenth campaign. And I know EVS doesn’t like them for some reason. Is there a history between the two?

Iirc the Kamen America creator used to make overtly MAGA comics on crowdfund right before making Kamen America. EVS at the time was trying push CG as a neutral ground so he kicked them out. I think doug tennapel was kicked out for the same reason. EVS also does not like the manga/anime style because he's just overall anti weeb.

Back in mid-summer 2018, Ethan took a public shit on one of Lim's MAGA related books (Trump: Space Force). Ethan got forced into a humiliating situation where he had to back down because his own audience wasn't supporting him. About a month later, Ethan formed Warcampaign so that would never happen again and warcampaign went right after Lim.
Ethan later accused Tim Lim of having nude photos of Mitch Breitweiser's wife and trying to blackmail Mitch into revealing the secrets of comicsgate to him. Why another man would have nude photos of Mitch's wife was never explained. But Lim's plan failed and the secrets of Castle Greyskull were kept safe.
Ethan is one to never give up a grudge and his mostly irrational war on all things Tim Lim is still going on six years later. Though the rise of the Field Negro may have changed things. I think he is now Ethan's clear #1 enemy and Lim isn't so important.

Ethan's beef with Lim and Iconic informs why he's losing his shit at July.
For years, Ethan claimed it does not matter if Iconic ships on time, because they have never had a book that has sold as well as Cyberfrog. Also, he hates anime/manga, and thinks KA "is for little girls." This has been his cope for as long as I can remember.
Then July comes along with an American style comic book, that ships on time, and smashes Cyberfrog's sales records. Ethan thus can't use the same cope. It's a total embarrassment for Ethan.
EVS is salty towards Lim and Iconic, but he's absolutely livid at Rippaverse.

Hates it in general I think. To me it seems more like a contrarian thing though. Like he isn't allowed to like anime/manga because comics should be 'merican or something.
Haven't bought any of their stuff yet. But Iconic seems to be doing a good job at building their empire. So of course Ethan hates them.
Not as popular yet. But that Tyler guy that does Super Plumber Sister's and some others seems to be doing a good job at doing comics part time and putting out a few comics a year. But if/when he gets more popular I'm sure Ethan will show his love.

EVS and alot of comicsgate is stuck mentally in the 1990s and in US comics from the 1990s. Alot of the comicsgate mentality has been driven by 1990s nostalgia and the idea that everything done then was better than whats being done now. Like alot of comics fans, the guys of a certain age in comicsgate are stuck in the era they grew up in. Anything from outside that era does-not-compute.
Ethan doesn't understand manga, anime or the appeal of either. Not understanding it turns into frustration first and then a really mindless sort of hate.

Is it ironic? Considering the western comic creators never got to keep their creations but the manga creators do (I think?). People like toriyama, kishimoto may be 'encouraged' to keep going by their publisher but afaik they still have the final say on where they go and their spin offs (dragon ball super, boruto, etc etc). That's exactly what these old and busted cg creators wanted no?
Too bad cg creators doesn't have the work ethics to create their own version of shounen jump (weekly chapter compilation magazine).

Ok so something I’ve been trying to articulate for a while now is why would you just make carbon copies of more successful comics, but without the “wokeness”. Regular comics aren’t really in a good place in terms of success, and manga is constantly kicking its ass. And yet you want to copy the formula that’s becoming more obsolete with each passing year? Why not learn from the most successful hot shit right now? Is it because of pride? Does no one want to admit that their comics are just shit and only do this out of “love” for the medium?
