Its always fun to look at a tier list and try and figure out "Is this person completely retarded, or just using different priorities than myself" - And when you see the Xbox One considered to be inferior to the Neo Geo, you know they're larping as some retro elitist. There's pretty much no valid metric by which the Geo, a console notorious for being a failure with the best of its entire library being "Mid" against its contemporaries, is considered superior to a console who's greatest failure was not being able to keep up with Sony's prestigious first party exclusive output that generation. Shit like Gears was good, but there wasn't nearly as much of it or the variety that Sony brought to the table.

The rest of it is a lot of fanboyism and semantics arguments about positioning, but I feel that single positioning gives away the entire larp for what it is.

To the people that liked Anthony - Why?
Anthony was always unpleasant to look at, and he was bad at his niche specialty. Much like Linus, he fumblefucked his way through entry level hobbyist hardware, and shocker, gravitated towards pink accessories.

I was thinking about this and i figured it out.

Technical competence, no. He is knowledgeable but no more so than your average tech nerd
Presentation, no, as stated he was always awful to behold, now it requires eye bleach

The reason people liked him is because he conveyed a sense of passion and deep personal interest in the subject matter. Dunno if he actually was or not, but you always got the sense he was really into the tech stuff and that's what made his presentation style engaging. Unfortunately now he's more into HRT.

Reshade does such a great job at cleaning up.the PS360 generation, either the PC releases or Xenia/RPCS3.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge is a particularily bad offender, but throw in shapen+Levels+Vibrance+SMAA and it becomes so rich and lush.

Levels and sharpening are at the sweet spot where the 'before" info is good enough to see a big difference. Sure it also helps with e.g. Duckstation, melonDS or PPSSPP but there's only so much lighting or texture info for the shaders to work with.

With 360-era games using Reshade feels like lifting a veil from the screen.

This list oozes of someone who watches way too much retro gaming channels in their free time and never actually used the consoles. Colecovision and Intellivision under the Atari 2600, really? The Odyssey in anywhere but F tier? It really seems like they're mixing together merit and the game library in the list which is really fucking dumb (I'm not going to watch the video for context either!), who's going to bust out the 2600 over any other console in the same tier? Just because a console was the first at something shouldn't mean it needs to be ranked higher, you can say that the Odyssey is a piece of shit, no one is going to hurt you for it. Might as well put the Tiger LCD games into B tier because they were the among the first handheld games!
Regarding the modern consoles (excuse me for the tism):
XSX is more of a C tier than a B tier, it's a Gamepass machine with no real exclusives to speak of, so it's worth it if you only want to play games and don't want to build a gaming PC, since Microsoft is fully on the Xbox brand being PC+Xbox console.
PS5 really should be in the D tier at most, but F tier preferable. Sony was really smart to push backwards compatibility with PS4 games, but then they forgot to actually release games for the PS5, the games they do release are formulaic, basic and very boring, plus they started to port their catalog to PC anyway. I'm super glad they ported Returnal among the first games for PC since it just killed any desire I have to ever buy one. PS Plus pales in comparison to Gamepass, plus you need to manually claim games anyway, so if you're not in the ecosystem since the PS3 basically, you're fucked.
Switch is in a good tier. It has a really good game library even if you exclude the bing bing wahoo stuff and portable mode is great if you travel a lot. A shame game devs don't outsource or make different versions of games clearly too ambitious for the Switch's hardware like the transitionary era between the PS2 and the PS3, sometimes the last gen versions of games were as good if not better than their current gen counterparts - but from what I'm reading sometimes, some Switch owners are happy with the sloppy seconds.

Tech Shrek had a modicum of interest and passion in the topics, and his style was much more reserved and informational, as opposed to Linus yelling like a retard. When you consider how bad the rest of LTT often is, his videos came off like a competent nerd talking about something interesting, relatively speaking, while with everyone else, they tend to follow the "talk loud to sound smart" rule.

I agree with the general sentiment regarding Anthony. His content on LTT was less about shoveling shilly goyslop and more putting a spotlight on things he had at least some level of obvious passion for. Didn't come across as regurgitating a Wikipedia or product info page and had what felt like genuine knowledge on the subjects he wrote about/presented which was refreshing among the sea of low effort 30 minute advertisements and Linus's home renovation vlogs. This allowed me to look beyond the 2 extra human beings worth of weight and appreciate that someone at LTT actually cared about something tech related.

Now though... well, we haven't really seen (((Emily's))) content a whole lot but I'm going to go ahead and guess the charm is lost.

They were retooling the cap and how the newer model will be easier to clean, and at 1:09:00 you also see the very blatant iFixit knockoff kit they're making. There's also a Space Jam 2 Xbox controller promo kit they auctioned off where one controller is The Goon Squad, and you hear people snicker but it goes over Linus' head. The Elijah guy actually seems decent when they aren't making him be the fat retard wearing the helmet, he seems like he's some leaf homeschool mormon so he's just got the trifecta of no self confidence and wanting to people please to the point where it's detrimental to his well being.

It does have a few neat parlor tricks compared to the iFixit kit but it's hard not to see it as an iFixit kit with orange foam that'll cost 3x as much. I have to wonder how this will affect their sponsorship of the Linus show in the future. iFixit will likely feel pressured to let it slide while quietly pulling back on any future deals given Linus' encroachment on their turf.
