At one point they might have had a chance, particularly if they had done the research to attempt to identify neurological evidence for gender dysphoria that would allow for an actual diagnosis. Instead they went in the opposite direction and have tried to make it wrong to tell a schizophrenic that the walls aren't on fire and that their toaster doesn't want them to shoot up a school, because that wouldn't be validating their feelings. Not only do we have to deal with that shit, but it's now next to impossible for anyone to try to research the condition in a useful way or make any meaningful progress towards a cure for gender dysphoria. Instead we've enshrined a troon version of Lysenkoism that will accomplish nothing.

Despite Wu's seemingly based takes recently, there are plenty of reasons to have problems with him:

1. He will not flat-out admit that he spent over the first half of his life as a man, for as much as he talks about "growing up in Mississippi." He does not want to invalidate many of the experiences he implies to have had as a woman, like when he kept speaking on behalf of women in tech.
2. He keeps saying that he is now speaking out after years of being silent. This is an incredible claim for someone who tried to run for US congress and "runs" a goddamn pac. No John, you have never, ever been fucking silent. You just only speak up when it benefits you.
3. He keeps saying he is done with people bullying him. John, you have never suffered anyone you think is a bully. Why are you claiming this is a new thing?
4. He will not admit that he lied about anything. He will just respond to accusations by saying he never explicitly stated something was fact, even though he damn well implied it. There is always just the tiniest grain of truth that he can claim proves he wasn't outright lying. Like claiming to be the second best princess peach speedrunner in the world (on a list of 2 people). He just hopes people won't read the fine print.
5. He's just an insufferable asshole. The porsche bragging, the expertise claiming, the patronizing tone he takes with everyone, his sucking up to destiny and his orbiters, etc.
