You could remove the cap on the payroll tax so all earners pay it, then reduce benefits for wealthy seniors, cut drug costs via importing from Canada (we could coordinate with their version of the FDA) AND begin raising the social security age since people live well past 65It sounds worse than it actually is. We're the largest economy on Earth. Saying debt payments take up 75% of our GDP (or whatever) sounds horrible. Until you realize that the other 25% of it represents a truly massive amount of money in and of itself.
I gotta say the "entitlements" question really pissed me off for that reason. I'm curious where Chris Wallace was getting his information from (I heard "something something foundation"). He basically said our only option was a "grand bargain" (which is not grand at all) that amounted to massively cutting benefits, as if this is our only option. I wouldn't be surprised if he picked that bullshit up from one of those corporate sponsored think tanks or something. It came off like the sort of simplistic bullshit those types put out. If only because it assumes that the only possible cuts we could ever make to our spending involve shit that helps regular people. How about all those tanks that cost millions each that our military doesn't want but that congress keeps forcing them to buy? Nope, gotta cut welfare....please
Removing the payroll cap is honestly the best thing to do about it. It keeps the system running as long as people work. You could remove the cap on the payroll tax so all earners pay it, then reduce benefits for wealthy seniors, cut drug costs via importing from Canada (we could coordinate with their version of the FDA) AND begin raising the social security age since people live well past 65
If we hadn't applied that cap, we would be in much better shape...then again, if states took the fucking Medicare money, the gap of people that didn't qualify for either would be much smallerRemoving the payroll cap is honestly the best thing to do about it. He basically said "I'll see", which amounts to "no" in practice. There's no middle ground on that sort of thing. It's either you accept that the democratic process is legitimate or you don't. This kinda shit really ain't a joke and there's no evidence whatsoever of widescale voter fraud. Even if Trump himself come election day doesn't say the election was rigged, he's planted the idea in his supporters heads. If you have millions of people saying that the election was fraudulent that is a challenge to the legitimacy of the state itself. If the man wasn't a narcissist he'd put a stop to thisHad to restart the stream due to chat spam. Did Trump actually say he wouldn't accept the results if he lost or was it a soft "no"?
He turned our election into a giant reality show. Or maybe it always was and he just took it to its logical conclusion. That being said I don't know if Trump really has much in the way of "interior life" in general. The man's shallowness is legendary. People who've gotten close to him over the years have all said more or less the same thing: he is all surface. "An existence unmolested by the rumbling of a soul" is my personal favorite description of him. When Hillary mentioned the Celebrity Apprentice seemed to be the only moment when Trump was genuinely happy to be there. It truly feels like he would rather keep being a reality TV star if he could go back in time.
So, not 20 more days, more like 34. Fuck it, I didn't want a healthy liver anywayI'd like to make a prediction:
Since it officially takes about 2 weeks to count all election votes, Trump is just gonna fuck with Hillary and drag it out as long as possible. Normally, it's just one of the candidates giving up based on preliminary results.
Trump is gonna drag this one out before he goes back to being a teacher at South Park Elementary or something.

Since ballot stuffing (Democrats) and ballot discarding (Republicans) are as American as meth and apple pie, it might take even longer. Ironically, it might be a good thing, because it would expose how crooked the presidential elections really are.So, not 20 more days, more like 34. Fuck it, I didn't want a healthy liver anyway
It would also trigger a worldwide recession the likes of which we never seen.Nearly 70% of that debt is owned by United States citizens and corporations through Treasury bonds, considered one of the safest investments on the planet. So those interest payments are going into the pockets of Americans and American businesses and, thus, directly into American economic activity.
Trump is suggesting essentially defaulting on them. That may work for him, just pocket whatever isn't nailed down, declare bankruptcy, and fuck his investors, but it would crater the value of such bonds.
It never ends. Welcome to mr. Trump's wild ride.I don't care who wins anymore just so long as it ends.
Trump's non-answer about whether he would recognize Shillary's election was stupid and looks bad on him but it's not a threat to democracy. Bush went eight years despised as a shit illegitimate president who stole at least one election by the left yet American democracy continued on to the present shitshow.
