Another success story for the Gym of Life:
Being a manlet must be suffering constantly, looking like a special-ed middle schooler is on a whole different level.

Dude must be constantly angry at everything, all the time.

EDIT: Didn't realize it was a pooner, which accounts for being ugly and short.

This whole thread kind of illustrates a very basic problem with these people: they are incapable of understanding that a bad outcome can come from a "good" action
That Which is Seen, and That Which is Not Seen,
Socialists are nothing new, that was written in the 1850s

Fat Pooner is short and jelly at the sick blue truck. I did a very (very) rough calculation on her height.
License plates are 6 inches tall. The front one is about 115 pixels tall. I estimated her height to be about 1200 pixels tall. This was about 63 inches or 5'3''

I hear this a lot, but that doesn't explain the explosion of American style SUVs in the UK. As far as I know, we don't have a similar law, and actually tax 4x4s. They are never used for work, and are instead driven by karens and boomers.
Small vehicles and large vehicles are attractive to different types of people for different reasons. The issue is emissions and safety regulations kill small vehicles in the US.
That's gotta be a pooner, right?

I found a recording of the pooner on youtube dot com.

This review of the escalade in 2004 by sir Richard Hammond should illuminate why british people love them so much.

(Hint: its because they hate being white and want their wives to fuck black men.)
Also i suspect it has something to do with british class structure, i suspect low class british people who come into money buy it as a status symbol as do black/white trash people in america. And as is demonstrated by the review.

There's some new comments on the post:

Part of it is just that "SUV" now covers everything under the sun except a sedan (has a trunk) or a minivan (sliding doors).

Other than that, everything that used to be a station wagon (now a crossover) or a hatchback (now a small SUV) is an SUV.

You also have a weird cost/tax inversion thing in Europe where taxes and such on vehicles are so high, that going for a larger SUV instead of a small car is proportionally smaller than in the US.

And since basically all SUVs are still smaller than European trucks, they fit just fine in normal operation.

Many years ago I used to hate SUVs like a lot of the fuckcars and NJB but after I did some mild overlanding in one, I understood. That experience converted me. The disappearance of the wagon and sportwagon is a shame though. Sometimes you just want a fast sedan with a liftback and long roof.

Yeah, I kinda have a soft spot for station wagons, maybe it's the fake wood panneling. They practically vanished in the US right at the end of the 90s.

You can still buy the E63S and the RS6 Avant. You also used to be able to buy the Panamera as a wagon until this year.

The RS7 and Model S are also fast liftbacks.

It's kind of weird because in some way, the "perfect" vehicle for a given road footprint is a boxy cube/rectangle. SUVs are closer to that than cars in general (minivans are damn near exactly a box and are the bees knees).

What's interesting is if you stop and think about it for even a moment, the popularity of the SUVs indicate that people do use their vehicles for more than just commuting or other things that transit easily replaces.

The minivan killed the station wagon dead (along with crash regulations, I suspect). And it's kind of sad now, the minivan itself is somewhat on life-support as the number of companies making them is dwindling.

Sliding doors are fucking sick and anyone who doesn't understand how wonderful they are should suck a fatpipe.

I'd love to see some of the larger SUVs with optional sliding doors, tbh.

Yeah some sport wagons still do exist in the USDM. I saw a regular Benz E class wagon at a dealership very recently. By liftback I meant a 5th door. Something like the E46/E60 wagon where the end of the roof line goes to the rear bumper.

I think it's because people value having the potential to do more with their cars. Cars are expensive purchases so it makes sense people would want one that's the most capable they can get. Modern SUVs address a lot of shortcomings that make the jack of all trades kind of vehicle more attractive now.

I would buy one if they put decent engines in them instead of anemic econobox engines.

To be honest though, a full size SUV is practically the same as a minivan just with a higher ride height and no sliding doors. There just isn’t that much demand for a low-floor SUV that can’t tow.

Yeah, the sliding doors really are advantageous with the smallest kids, which you relatively quickly outgrow.

And even though the modern minivan comes with almost 300 horse, and has some towing ability, it's not in the "full size boat" category (only about 3500 lbs).

Honestly the floor height and door type is the only difference now; the Toyota Highlander is basically the Toyota Sienna with regular doors. Too bad it doesn't go the other way.
