Formula 1 Discussion - And favourite driver?

The article also suggests that Red Bull may be double dipping by owning RBR and RB.

My first thought was along the lines of Red Bull being strongly encouraged to sell RB to Andretti, but then I remembered this is F1 we're talking about here and I'm being way too logical.
When Bernie ran things that's probably what would happen. There would be a meeting behind closed doors and he would browbeat Red Bull into selling the team for the good of the sport. Because this pissing match over who's allowed in and why looks bad.

But now that the faggots that be are in charge all they can see is short term money.

This is exactly what people feared with American ownership of this sport. Bernie is an old-school British businessman, focused on long-term stability with the short term mainly focused on managing crisis and exploiting opportunities when they present themselves. He built the sport to the point of immaculate professionalism and gave it near-global recognition as the technological pinnacle of motorsport. These intangibles are something that don't show up on an Excel spreadsheet or in a checkbook.

American businessmen these days only see the next quarter and nothing else. Number go up, who cares about reputation or stability.

So apparently, simulations have found that the incoming 2026 cars are unstable when aero isn't engaged as part of its active/passive thing. Or is that just boomerbook being boomerbook.
Verstappen was pretty vocal about this so it's not just boomer talk. He also brought up the issue of the engines at the same time.

unrelated but related. New Hamilton r34 video. Wild in the streets of Japan again.

I fucking hate this dudes shtick. I hate his fans. I hate the muh racism and blah blah blah. But if he were to just stick to racing cars and posting videos like this. I'd probably be a fan. You cannot deny the fucking effect the gtr has on him, at one point he let's out this belly laugh/chuckle like he a kid going crazy with joy. It's hard to hare on that. And thats crazy cause it's so easy to hate on lewis but the shits dope when he gets behind the wheel of a gtr. Both videos dare I say, kino.

China will be a shit show. Don't understand the need for a sprint when we haven't raced here in years. I get it, money, but still a odd choice. Probably will be exciting though so atleast there's that.

Look at it another way, they have no data from there since 2019 and none with the new cars, there's chances of teams fucking up the setup especially with the even more limited running, it could be enjoyable.

There was also some kind of sealant laid on the track which drivers have no idea what effect that will have. There is a chance of rain Friday night which will mean green track come Sprint on Saturday. It could be like that Turkey race with no grip to be had anywhere. We might get, at least in the Sprint, a race where the driver who can best handle conditions or low grip (Max, anyone else?) will shine.

So far we have a "relaid" track that is actually a thin layer of bitumen that the organisers neglected to mention to Pirelli, and grass fires set by sparks coming off the cars. I sense an impending shit show.

And Hamilton on the first row but not pole because the stewards gave Norris his best lap back.
The timing of Norris's reinstatement was perfect. Those cathartic seconds after the end of qualifying, with the Hamilton ball-washing, courtesy of the Sky commentators, building momentum, only for pole to be snatched away. Norris number one. Hamilton number two.

lmao Lando. lmao Ham didn't even close his cheeks when the breaking came.

lmao Mexico > Spain. Pseudo white Mediterraneans BTFO.

Operator not so smooth anymore.

And without the old lion Alonso Hamilton would have probably finished around 6th place at best.

Also I really want to hear the Ferrari debrief, Sainz went super aggressive against his terammate.

FIA Helmet Painter: "And what do you want to be today, young man?"

Albon: "A terrified panda!"

I admire the enthusiasm of Norris but he demonstrated the same blind, 'fuck brakes' optimism I embody whenever I attempt to play an F1 game.

Alonso played the ultimate spoiler. It was tragic that he came off worse in the inevitable showdown. I was reminded of Hudson's death in the face of impossible odds, in Aliens.
