Not only that, but the entire reason why americans could be put in concentration camps without an armed uprising was due to the stranglehold an effective mass media system had on the american mind. The 1950's not having perfect social cohesion is definitely true but the problem is that the social cohesion the US did have all the way up until recently was founded in these fabrications.
