Because of this, losers, especially dangerous losers, become a collective responsibility for all of us to foot the bill for. The maladjusted chud at risk of shooting up a Walmart or grooming children is a personal tax burden to all of us if he is ever caught and doesn't end up dead by the end of his crimes. Since this is the case, criminal concerns aren't just an individual issue to be handled in a similar vein to how your personal car insurance is handled, but instead is a collective issues that all of us have to bear the burden for by paying for it. This problem is especially pronounced in Euroamerica/"The West" specially since every criminal bust now has the potential to become a big political discussion (I.e, school shootings ending up bringing up gun control again or pedophile rings being busted causing legislation about "banning encryption"/incuring more privacy violations).

In addition, anonymous posting, downloading, colour images, video streaming, live streaming, GIFs, colour pictures, e-commerce, encrypted communication -- were initially developed for porn users, and any other application for these things has been purely serendipitous. You could go further back to say that cable television, VHS, and DVD were initially built for porn -- some estimates have stated that 80% of consumer electronics were initially made for porn.

If you think that it's a coincidence that you can happen to find any porn imaginable online, that you have a pocket-sized device that allows you to access any porn you want discreetly from anywhere at any time, and that said device also has a camera that allows you to film women and girls without their knowledge, you're either misinformed or in deep denial. You say degeneracy was easy to avoid on the old internet, but it was also very male-dominated ("there are no girls on the internet") -- why do you think that is? Not because women like shopping, drinking, and watching Sex and the City instead of using the computer -- there are plenty of women who love tech and niche hobbies/media. Women and girls tend to avoid environments that are hostile to them, and there's nothing more hostile than a space designed for perverts to act out (watch porn) without consequence. If we want this to stop, we need to change the way the internet is built, which means removing online anonymity, banning smartphones, banning VPNs/deepweb, and bringing back shame around excessive internet usage. I know this is deeply unpopular here because all our bosses would have gotten 5 AM girl talks if we weren't anonymous, but if there wasn't online anonymity, Dong-Gone would be in jail by now, and we wouldn't have to live in fear of gender ideology since it spreads through porn and grooming that's protected by anonymity. I know people say "there will always be a loophole in any porn-banning legislation that renders it useless", but if everything you do online is tied to your real name, nobody will use porn anymore out of shame, and the most secretive way of finding it will be IRL (which will prevent a lot of escalation and addiction issues).

The VHS being built for porn, or winning over Betamax because it allowed for porn, is all urban legends too. Betamax allowed for porn, the reason it lost to VHS was because it was more expensive, more restrictive and in the early days it held less footage, and no, not because the porn industry couldn't expose people to more hours of Ron Jeremy, but because regular movies wouldn't fit on a Betamax. As far as why anyone should care, I’d just like to remind everyone that a lot of the info in this thread was found from digging into Torswats/Alan Filion, who was responsible for SWATting a U.S. congresswoman and framing a KF moderator for it.

The Farms has endured a lot of shit over the past two years in particular, and the majority of it involves us being accused of stuff that is not only blatantly against the site rules, but that most KF users have no interest in doing. Null works hard to run a clean, open, and legal website, and yet this site has had no end of problems with false accusations that we wage organized harassment campaigns, threaten people, SWAT people, and host all manners of illegal content.

My point is, all that horrible shit that KF regularly gets accused of doing? These people are out there doing it. And they certainly aren’t going to complain that we're the ones who take the blame.
