For those unclear why this is happening like I was: with borderline personality disorder, their brain has an underdeveloped and lacking empathy center. They are bad at experiencing empathy because they either don't have it, or it pains them to think someone feels bad around them so they lash out to not feel those feeling. The
splitting behavior is caused by consciously or subconciously shifting blame off themselves and onto the person who caused them terrible emotional discomfort so they can externalize the emotions and control them better. Poppy, for some reason, expects emotions he feels to be universal - he's showing off Noeh's bad behavior because it hurt Poppy so goddamn badly, even though it was Poppy's own terrible anxiety he was attempting to squash. He demands attention and external validation from others to get a stable sense of self, a justification for his behavior (as he knows it's wrong or else he should stop calling himself a therapist), and asspats.
Please note that all of this is armchair amateur psychology gleaned from some experience, some classes, and some googling. I'm sure to Poppy this means I'm invalid, which is hilarious, but I mean to encourage others to explore other hypotheses and theories. Borderlines can be strangely predictable and consistent in behavior once you know their cycles and ticks.
Also, he verbally expresses that he prefers teen clients; could trannies be anymore transparent than this? At least his narcissism is so unhinged and uncontained that anyone with a little bit of common sense can avoid him.
For Joshy, picking teens as easier to work with is great for him since they don't have that awareness. He can come at them however he wants and they won't know much better. He can even browbeat them into complying!

I think it's twofold: for one, his entire job is thinking about psychology and behavior. This way he can come up with many excuses for his behavior. The other is how he has a whole community full of BPD and handmaidens who also validate his ass. He's built up a surprisingly great bubble for himself and his obsessive need for complete enviormental and social circle control. The more he can control, the less he gets hurt and the more he can hurt first if he feels threatened.

His ideal life is getting a large fanbase with a lot of asspats to soothe his lacking ego, a big discord to control, and a large pool of people he could fuck.
