Fallout 2 is a great game (arguably better than Fallout 1) but I will never forgive it for introducing 'le whacky humor' into Fallout. The first game was much more serious in tone and overall presentation compared to F2, and all everyone remembers is the whacky humor shit which does significant damage to the world. And I don't care if Tim Cain decided the Fallout show was actually pretty good, he was a good narrative/game designer two decades ago, he isn't that good anymore. He was the director of The Outer Worlds a few years ago, and there is no comparison between F1 and Outer Worlds. Tim Cain didn't even know about Underrail for God's sake, arguably one of the best RPGs in a decade (combat wise).

Biggest problem with all of these people is they inevitably succumb to Overton window shifting without realizing it. So many things in the show can be criticized validly and are certainly caused by Amazon and their mandated diversity quotas for their film and TV projects. But because you don't have a character literally turn to the camera and say 'white people are evil' suddenly the show isn't woke anymore.

Some Scouser that's been a guest on some of these streams, mostly on Drinkers afaik. As always, the predominately US crowd of viewers love anything with a UK accent so he's fairly popular with the followers I think.

His views were shit so he thought turning from a static owl image into a weird goat demon VTuber would help but it didn’t.

Oh and he’s a subhuman Canadian as well. Go figure.

It's a lot easier to call something shit and completely dismissing it if your audience doesn't really want anything more than validation for something they'll never actually touch anyways.
I mean, /v/ exists. A good chunk of the anons on that more or less come in with the expectation that they're supposed to hate something unconditionally, the why doesn't matter.

To be fair to Drinker, that's more or less what he did with Fallout, resulting in a bit of a struggle session with Mauler, Nerdrotic and that Reaper fella.
Also I feel like Disparu deserves mention on the list of spergs that seem determined to hate everything they watch, with no nuance.

Fringy's like "Erm, well, you fundamentally still have to navigate the world." Yes, Fringy, you still have to move the stick forward to get Kratos from point A to point B. Great point. Really showed him.

Yeah, trying to defend how far the puzzles have fallen really is a mark of how shit most games are now. The puzzles in the OG trilogy weren't rocket science, but they didn't shout the answer at you in the first minute. Then they loop around to "why is that a bad thing?", "You shouldn't waste time in investing into things outside the core experience." Do you guys not get that the game CHOSE not to be a stream of constant combat, that the game needs to pace itself? Do you not understand that the structure of the game matters? That the free enemies you get on a long climb are there to break up monotony that the level geometry might have required while supplying free experience?
These guys know almost nothing and spout off in a constant stream about game systems bringing up the original tomb raider games, other kinds of fighters, other platformers, and other shit while ignoring how their points speak against the new God of War games. Also, why the fuck is there so much dead air in a highlight's video? "Exactly" <5 second pause>, "ugh, yeah right" <3 second pause>. This format is god awful, the mayo guy starts setting up a point, and they discuss the setup for 10 fucking minutes. Like, he has this point about how the easiest mode limits the skills the hardest mode can test, and they spend so much time discussing how Hellen Keller should be able to experience the story that they don't get to hear the point. How are you supposed to address someone's point if you zoom in and have a 20 minute argument about their failure to use the oxford comma in the first sentence.

This God of War shit is probably my favorite efap drama. They're making an excessive amount of bad arguments surrounding this because they're forced to defend it at every turn. If they weren't scrambling to say whatever arguments they can think of, they might actually have to agree with some points, and they can't do that because then they'll have to admit that they were never looking for honest debate.

Mauler implied he was working on a Fallout video (sorry can't get you a exact timecode because its still live) and mentioned he was talking to people that know the lore to get "clarifications"
