The unspoken parts are that ByteDance has nine months to divest (with three additional month grace period) and any such deal must be approved by China given ByteDance's location (which lol isn't happening). If this was the Dem's grand plan to find a Twitter replacement in time for November it's completely toothless.

So how are they getting around it being a bill of attainder for banning tiktok? When you get congress calling it the tiktok ban, you are kind of asking for the court to throw it out. Saying well we didn't explicitly name them in the bill doesn't cut it if the court can tell you're targeting one group.

Trump was using existing legislation related to foreign owned companies, not passing new legislation targeting a single one. Even if the bill gets passed banning tiktok, I'm not sure it survives the courts.

Someone should write a book about Trump's relationship with Graham. Feels like they've flip flopped on each other multiple times. Lindsey turns on Trump when the political winds shift, Trump makes a pointed joke about Lindsey, then they get back together when the winds shift back and Lindsey kisses Trump's ass. You can't take anything Graham says at face value because there's always an ulterior motive, he's great at what he does.

Trump views him as a useful but aggressive dog. As like to bite the hand that feeds as anything else. But when he can use him he does. No trust though.

The voice sounds African and likely is, and is hitting at an insecurity. This is 100% aimed at undermining the black vote for practically pennies on the dollar. Dry and Corporate is exactly what you want here. To inoffensive to really attack, but worms in that discontent and likely aimed for specific time slots that are fairly cheap but will get a lot of black viewers.

I like it. It doesn't need to actually get blacks to vote Trump, it just needs to worm in the idea that things are worse now... and throw in some racial animosity between blacks and the illegal immigrants.

You know, knowing that this is exactly why it's dry and corporate is why I dislike it now that I think about it.

It's like having a flashback to a video showing how hotdogs are made right as you're about to bite into one. Knowing how the sausage is made makes a difference for me, in this instance. You're absolutely right, though.

It is insidious and absolutely meant to sow division. Its why I like it. Frankly, I look back on a career of accepting only doing my job with 'honor' and realizing that I... was a damn idiot. So many legitimate tactics where left off-limits for Republicans because we were supposed to have dignity, we were -better- than the democrat's, we didn't have to stoop to fighting in Shit like -they- did.


And we believed that. While the Democrats were given free reign to use whatever tactic they wanted.

I have since... well, grown disillusioned with that mindset. Now I see that while there is such a thing as bad tactics.... a lot of tactics previously labeled bad were just kept off limits systemically to help the uniparty. So seeing a Republican's candidate for President say fuck it and decide he'd rather be covered in shit and win than be pristine and lose with dignity... well, it warms my soul.
