I’ve posted about this group before, but today I received good news that A Tribe Called Quest is officially getting inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year, even after getting nominated for three years and getting in on the third time.

I know no one cares, but I now have an excuse to post this song:

This shit makes me tophat I dont care. Why do ANY coon tune groups get into the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME? It'd be like Charlie Daniel's Band getting into the Hip-hop Hall Of Fame. Y'know, silly shit like RunDMC getting into the Rock- OH WAIT THEY DID AND FUCKING EMINEM INDUCTED THEM(Not even anyone from Aerosmith which at least would have made some semse). The same EMINEM who wanted to do a song with Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath. And when asked if he wanted to do the collab, Iommi said "idk who that is".

I'm willing to pretend that niggos made large enough contributions to folk and gospel to be considered the OG soul spillers. I'm even willing to pretend that Blacks using a white man's invention(electric guitar), playing white man's music(southern gospel mixed with folk influences and personal experiences) are the OG Rockers.

I'm not, however, willing to LARP that Hip-hop groups have ever made any significant enough contribution to the Rock genre to deserve a spot in the Hall next to greats of the overall genre like Zeppelin and Sabbath etc

Honestly, as someone who has an Illmatic avatar and listened to Tribe over the years, I also like to question if they replaced Iron Maiden and Soundgarden with Mary J. Bilge and Dave Matthews Band for this years inductees.

I even saw Mariah Carey fans straight up get mad and block anyone on X if they dare say anything bad about how Mariah Carey is not a rock musician.

Even more shocking is finding out that Oasis was nominated for six straight times, yet they didn’t make it.

I recently read this article titled, "What I like about Blacks", by huwhite advocate Jared Taylor.
