Aye. I think they have serious weaknesses that need to be patched over, but I can definitely see them being fun. That said, this dogpile is showing me that I am utterly untrained in this, so I paid for it with a few costly battle.
Yomi is pretty fucking cracked as a lot of his good troops like oni basically have a second life but a bulk of his decent troops are also demons which you can banish and hurt with priest spam. Yeah they have high MR but when you mass preists eventually one of those rolls will hit. Looking at his scales he seems to have played it where he has no intention of getting any conventional troops and intends to rely on his free-spawn temple demons and site searching for summons, which to be fair is probably a good bet for his nat.
Honestly surprised I even won that one, considering the imbalance. But those adepts are proving real good with falling fire spam. Too little too late but oh well.

I feel like that would be something to I would drop 10 dollars on but not much more. I really liked sifting through all the weird pretenders and reading about the different armies but playing the game... I just can't get invested enough before I move on to something else.
Understandable. I just got hooked on it because it's an asynchronous game I can actually play with my fucked schedules that grew on me. It's most fun with friends and when people don't play gay and meta-y though thus far I can't say anyone here has been doing so which is very nice.
I've never played with friends, I could see that working out really well. Team up on cpu guys, laugh over drinks while you get confused and fuck up a round. I doubt my normal running crew would like it much. Alas.
Yeah it's a speacial kinda autism game. There's a couple groups I play with, but none of my friends irl would ever play something like this either.
They have made Conquest of Elysium, which in my eyes is a simpler, more straight-forward game than Dominions is. It uses the same framework, so you still get all of the cool stuff, but the different scope might be more managable for you. Of course, you still need to be Always Unique, Totally Intelligent, Sometimes Mysterious for it to click, but the barrier is lower I'd say.
I'll favorite that and hope for a sale someday. I might just fire up dominions 4 to for the hell of it. I usually just want to be a wizard and blow shit up which is an option in that game.
