Andy's "You mean five a year, right?" and "We have multiple ovens to bake our bread" comments are mathematically wrong.

Polygamy would only increase the population if there were more men then women being born. Women only tend to outnumber men because they live longer, so the higher number of 80 and 90 year old women than men doesn't really factor into reproduction.

If there were ten men and ten women, all fertile, and one of the men married seven women, that may increase HIS number of offspring but not the total population's, as six other men would be left without wives. You might say those six can marry the daughters of the man with seven wives, but that only moves down the displacement to men of the next generation, and the next, and the next, without ever actually increasing the total number of offspring.

Andy derides having one wife who pops a out one baby a year, but any population can only have as many children as there are women to bear them, no matter how many women an individual man fucks.

The only way to increase the total population through polygamy would be if they married all their own women and women from outside, but Andy's specifically talking about white people and declining birthrates, so I don't think interracial marriages are what he has in mind here. Unless every white man marries every white woman AND takes several black wives AND then they all fuck each other's mulatto daughters generation after generation until they've bred all the black out of them in a Yakubian breeding plan.

And this is all aside from the point that polygamy DECREASES birthrates in a population because each woman is much less likely to get her turn with the husband on one of the six days a month that are her fertility window, and gets much less sperm overall than if she had her own dedicated husband, causing the women to have less children than otherwise which means less children are born
