Call of Duty Thread - Potential return to form? Or nothing but cope on the horizon? You decide!

Hows Plutonium faring? I've not played since upgrading to a new PC. I know the Zombies lobbies tended to be relatively active but the regular multiplayer I usually wanted was all bots save for party game rooms like snipers only.

Say what you want about Vanguard, but the pacing mechanic could've been an interesting direction to go into if delved into deeper. Why not just let people choose what kind of movement/pace they want to play?
In practice, it was just player count.

You have to understand the situation before the release of the game: Every COD before it(Infinite Warfare, WW2, Black Ops 4) was a flop in some sense. MW2019 was not only going back to it's roots, the game was actually comparable to the oldschool MW titles in quality as well. Hell, they even removed the loot crates that plagued these titles...only to replace them with 24$ "micro" transactions, yeah that started here.
Oh well, at least the Multiplayer was nice and fresh...when it wasn't making you sweat, since this is when the SBMM as we know it today was activated, it was much more visible in future games however.

Anyways, that was the hype, the reason some people hate MW2019, aside from the ones listed above, is because it was slower and more methodical. That's it, they didn't like that they took away 3 lane maps and had players taking buildings and waiting behind doors, because everything has to be chaotic ADHD riddled sliding and bunnyhopping fest like Nuketown or Shipment. If someone hates MW2019 it's either because they sucked at it(ie can only play COD one way and cry when the game changes it's meta) or because it introduced us to the cancer that is modern day COD. That includes Warzone BTW, I know I dropped out once that became a thing because I knew it would consume not just the entire game but the IP as a whole.
Expect, I am still baffled you cant deny MW2019 brought cod back on top of cultural relevance after fortnite stole its lunch. The new engine was a game changer, other FPS games have started to copy the tactical sprint feature, great look gun animations, and sounds. I even like Warzone its fun what I think COD needs is another Infinity Ward only game. MW22 was fine but it had to much cooks in the kitchen since Activision saw MW2019 sold gang busters.

MW3 is alright but its a major course correction for no reason. The movement barely has any weight to it because "muh rushers", most MW3 guns are pea shooters, and the slide canceling ADHD gameplay is horrible (sadly something that was part of in MW2019), and I hate the slightly longer TTK in MW19/MW22 you werent forced to use meta since the TTK was so low, in MW3 are have to because the ttk is longer. Even the graphics were nerfed on purpose due to the fact people have bad eye sight so baked in lighting has been removed in nu MW2/3 and its why they look worse.

Treyarch is considered the golden child but they are so fucking overrated. If Gulf War flops people will still defend it. Even people here fucking defend Cold War since "its fun, and muh 80s operator vibes". It was utter dogshit made on black ops 4s decrepit engine compared to MW2019 it was embarrassing.

I never denied it. I was looking forward to that game myself, but I couldn't stomach the changes the game made even halfway into it's year long cycle. Hell, they didn't even release the Survival mode I was looking forward to until Cold War dropped for non-Playstation users.
COD Mobile released around the same time, and not only was it more successful but it was more fun too. MW2019 was a comeback, but a short lived one. With MW5 aka MW2022, the collapse started(altho it was plain as day that it was coming in Cold War and Vanguard was when the cracks started to form).

It came out mere days before MW2019 aka MW4. People were basically playing both at that time, altho I ironically enough went back to playing BO4 shortly after launch of MW4 simply because it was lacking in content and broken at launch. Go figure, I guess some things never change.

What COD needs is for games to be made without either DEI targets or a mandate to farm mtx bux from whales, regardless of content.

The writing was on the wall when they dropped Kawaii Cat for Mara:

They'd promised they wouldn't do this shit. They'd told us MW 2019 was back to a serious tone and a realistic aesthetic after the utter clown show that was Black Ops 4. But they couldn't resist, they knew giving Mara, the most popular female operator, an "uwu gamer girl" skin would sell like hotcakes to the AGP uncracked eggs who mained as her. I quit when Jigsaw showed up. I didn't buy Modern Warfare to play Fortnite by another name.

It had to be Mara, too. I've seen coomers get so obsessed with her back when I was still playing the game, one of the signs to drop this shit immediately. There was so much more coomer shit in Cold War despite the females being even uglier too, I just can't explain it. Little boys or trannies? You don't see dudebros that usually play these games acting like this because they actually have sex.

Infinite Warfare single player was fun af. Better than titanfall. Though multiplayer was still the same bo3 shit that i didnt like.
I personally was not impressed and thought it was a poor man's Killzone. I remember Kit Harrington being a useless addition who got killed off early, and at the game's eventual conclusion I felt nothing beyond boredom. It wasn't a Battlefield single player or anything though, so I guess that's all high praise given how bad these games have become.

True!
The best skin is Ash Williams, fuck you Milsim simps.
No clue why are milsim people complaining so much, most milsim skins are usually free/event skins. I think the only bundle I've purchased up to this point is the Warhammer Sisters of Battle bundle, since one of the tracers/death effects is attached to custom 5.56 ammo. Tip to whoever might not know, any tracer blueprints that contain custom ammo let you use the same effect on any weapon that uses the same ammo type, by equipping it and the corresponding "ammo skin". In this effect's case, it essentially means you're getting it not for one gun, but for over twenty of them.

For any bundle that does not do this, it generally doesn't feel valuable enough.

Because I don't want to have to look at gay shit while I'm playing Shoot Mans With Big Guns. I don't want sparkly blue lasers. I don't want my character to explode into cubes or hearts or weed leaves or whatever. I don't want to see superheroes leaping around. I just want to play a game where military-looking guys with military-looking guns are shooting each other in a war zone, and apparently, I can't have that. I have to have Skeletor shooting blue sparklies in the amusement park.
