I do think that 'peaceful protesters' could use a skull-cracking, not because they refuse to vote for Biden or they love pallys or that they hate Adam Sessler (a perfectly reasonable position in 2024) but because they are more interested in harassing the apolitical/nonpolitical than in inconveniencing the powerful.
January 6th was a lesson to the shitlibs not to bite the hand that feeds them. They can block all of the school halls and airport roads they want; actually show up at Congress and you get a ticket to the District Dungeon.

Maybe I should wear a top hat or ten, but I unironically find actual murderous dictators more likable than Sessler. Now sure Kim Jong-un or Prince Salman have a lot more blood (and probably less cocaine) on their hands, but at the very least they genuinely seem like they'd be more fun to hang out with than this loathsome asshole. And if I have to listen to a coked-out megalomaniac ranting about how great he is and how everyone else are but dogs compared to him, I'd rather it be someone who could put some real power behind the threat, this is just completely and utterly pathetic. Besides I doubt Sessler would be any kinder than they are if he ever got his grubby blow-stained hands on any actual power, considering what he's said so often and with such contemptuous ease about anyone to the right of Bill Ayers.

The funny part to me is that games journos tend to see games as this ULTRA important thing, the ne plus ultra of artistic expression, the interactive story people have wanked about ever since home computers hit, just the most important goddamn thing in the entire cultural world. (And thus: They're super important too.) At the same time they view 'gamers' as obsessive weirdo nerds who need to touch grass when most of them just see games as a fun thing in their lives. I'm not sure if it's projection, tragic miscalculation or a weird combo of the two.

You're missing that most of them never wanted to be game journos in the first place, or if they did it was purely in the hope of moving up to being someone like Jason Schrier while wanting to put in none of the effort. They want to be writing random bullshit for the NYT, WP, etc. not writing about video games they have no interest in. Any day now their writing will get them noticed and eventually featured in a regular article in a big paper/magazine/whatever. The reason they treat the discussion of games so seriously while hating their jobs, is because they're hoping it comes off like critiquing arthouse indie films.
The reality is, they took the journalism equivalent of a fast food job and get stuck in it for a decade and despise everything about it.

Movie-Bob "not endorsing" casual calls to violence is ludicrous, but he still can't help admittedly that he thinks these people (the protesters) are "beyond saving". It feels mostly like this is something he feels like he is obliged to have a take on (for some innane reason) and that this is very tepid condemnation.
