I wanted to verify what Josh was saying about antiquated vs. modern slavery in the U.S., but my search-fu failed me...

...until I looked for "how many undocumented aliens currently exist in the U.S."

Considering the "peak of 12.2 million in 2007" w/r/t illegals, it's entirely possible that the antiquated peak of 4M enslaved has been achieved or surpassed, since the "trafficking" search results were only "confirmed."

"how many undocumented aliens currently exist in the U.S."
just as we've developed usurious bastard-free usury, pimp-free whores, we also have master-free slavery.

You don't need to actually own a specific human if you can create an entire class of effective slaves; they're interchangeable, after all.

That seems like a finished product for a very nice Rust-based message system, but I am specifically needing a library for internal stuff.

Closest thing I know of to kafka as a Rust lib is Tokio's MPMC / MPSC stuff. You're probably too familiar. *sigh*

I suspect the purchase of The Onion is an attempt to copy the The Babylon Bee, which Ben as a Twitter addict would be well aware of. It got popular enough that they opened Not The Bee as a serious, non-satirical counterpart and overall it's the most popular spiritual successor to The Onion.

Nu-Onion likely wants to apply this model to their own ends by churning out shitty leftist humour in order to advertise a more "serious", Wikipedia-citable analogue, i.e. it's all just misdirection to operate another doomed journo rag.

Hello @Null ,
During the stream you made a few remarks concerning poppers that are incorrect.
"the high from poppers is from oxygen depravation"
"the high from poppers is literally brain damage"

As you can realize if you think about it for a second, the high is not due to oxygen depravation. People wouldn't bother to hunt for expensive, sometimes illegal and hard to get substances such as poppers (alkyl nitrites) if all they aimed at was oxygen depravation. The "high" given by poppers is due to its strong smooth muscle relaxation properties, and since veins and arteries are mostly smooth muscles, this dilates the blood pathways and quickly lowers blood pressure. The high is felt as a body heat and a sort of dizziness as excess blood is flowing all over your body, including your brain. You do not experience oxygen depravation when you use poppers normally (which is to hold it to your nose and breathe it in for up to a few seconds), the same way you do not experience oxygen depravation when you hold your breath for a few seconds.

Concerning the second claim, contrary to what is popularly repeated by people for some reason, poppers do not cause brain damage. Extreme frequent and heavy use can lead to a blood disorder, but this exceedingly rare. Another extremely rare occurrence is for people with a genetic predisposition that makes it that popper use will harm their eyes. As assessed by drug organizations and governments alike, no brain damage caused by poppers was ever found. Beside dilating the veins and allowing for more blood in the brain, which might cause headaches in the worst case, the drug has no interaction with the brain and has no biomechanism that could lead to any damage.

As a side note, this has nothing to do with the furry story, but if you make the very stupid mistake to either ingest (drink) or aspirate (snort) akyl nitrates, you will gravely harm yourself and potentially die because you will melt from the inside. This constitute 100% of the deaths caused by alkyl nitrates.

Best regards,
Local KiwiFarms expert on drug use and abuse.
